Anastasia Alexander doesn’t have the answers to life’s love questions. What she does know is that love in the 21st Century is complex. There are no easy answers, and there is a lot of richness and juiciness in exploring all the complexity that love brings.

Her credentials are two failed marriages, equaling twenty-three years of marriage and a willingness to believe that maybe a third one will be her lucky number. Or she might decide to compete with Elizabeth Taylor for who can get married the most times. It is yet to be determined which option she’s going to go for, but until then she pours her passion and sarcasm for relationships into her stories.

First, I want to thank Anastasia Alexander for providing me with this book so I may bring you this review.

Anastasia Alexander saved the best book in the Millionaire Romance Series for last! I have had the honor and privilege to read each one of her books in the series and this was my favorite. I highly suggest you read them all in order. That was you can learn the characters and storylines. Catalina Romance was a book based around The Bachelorette TV Show kind of like the one you see on ABC. What was ironic is the Bachelor on the TV show is from my hometown. So, reading this kind of made you think what is real and what is fake.

Right off the bat I adored Sean. I just loved where he came from, his occupation, that he was real and genuine. His sister cracked me up on how hard she tried to play matchmaker!
Clarissa’s story with her niece and the real reason she was on the show totally pulled on my heart strings. I gave her credit for putting up all that she had to put up with. There were definitely a lot more ups and downs for her than you see on tv. But whom gets the final shell I was a little surprised by.

Warning: there are parts where you may need tissues. I admit I did cry in a few spots.

‘An irritating reality show where people made fools of themselves on TV’ – Rollicking romance!

Author Anastasia Alexander has certainly found her niche in romance novels with her five volume Millionaire Romance series, of which CATALINA ROMANCE is the third book. The refreshingly different aspect of this series is the appraisal and focus of the popular reality TV series shows that capture an increasingly wide audience. Semi-retired Charissa moves from Idaho to Catalina Island off California’s coast to rejoin her career as a TV reality hostess on Millionaire Engagement to provide support for her niece. Out of the millionaires flown in to the TV series is one that actually makes the reinstatement on the show a positive one for Charissa – and so blooms a fascinating romance, suffused with sensitive backstories of family and survival and the power of love of many sorts. Winsome, involving, and entertaining, this book is a perfect summer read for both women and men who appreciate fine writing!

Charissa does not want to plunge back into the morass that is reality TV, but she feels she has no other choice. Her niece is very ill, and if that means she has to make money by flirting with eligible bachelors on Catalina Island, so be it. She doesn’t relish this endeavor, as the fakeness of what she’s doing is nauseating to her, even as she bats her eyelashes in front of the camera.

However, one of the many men who’s vying for her attention doesn’t seem to be like all the others. Could it be that there’s actually a decent human being among the many who are so clearly there only for their five minutes of fame? If Charissa lets her emotions come into play, she could end up getting burned. It’s tough to stay on an even keel, though, when a charmer like this seems to offer her a real chance at love. The readers are along for the ride as our heroine tries to figure out whether this dashing gentleman is for real or an illusion.

Romance novels are fantastic for passing the time, and this book is one that I enjoyed. It is like binge-watching For Love or Money or even The Bachelor, but more of what happens to the people in the show after the show. Charissa's character went through a lot and deserved love and support. Andrew is the key to all her worries. Some emotional subplots in the story will make you feel for the characters more deeply. The story is not just about love and romance but also about the deep formation of family bonds. The author perfectly portrays Charissa's inner turmoil as a public figure and human being. She was feeling and sharing some issues that I have heard, such as the Kardashians being both loving and annoyed about being TV celebrities.

Heartwarming story

Catalina Romance is a perfect read for those looking for an entertaining and heartwarming story. It will make you laugh out loud, move you to tears, and leave you thinking long after you've turned the last page.

In addition to its entertainment value, Catalina Romance offers valuable lessons about the importance of family, resilience and the pursuit of happiness. A book that will stay with you for a long time and leave an indelible impression.

If you enjoy light and funny stories with touches of romance, you'll love Catalina Romance. The main character is a charismatic and relatable woman who will make you laugh out loud with her witticisms.

The strength of love

Romance novels, in my opinion, have a challenge: to bring adventure and reality to the story. Alexander solves the above in a magnificent way, the narrative of "The Catalina Romance" mixes love, reality and adventure in a unique way. It traps the reader in a reality that does not seem alien, on the contrary it reflects what human beings are capable of doing for love; in this case Charissa puts her niece's needs before her own, she even dares to do things she does not like to help her niece, all for love. Truly, the love presented in this novel is transformative and drives the reader to have reflections on solidarity and empathy. Thank you Alexander!

I enjoyed reading Charissa's story. It was my favorite book of the three I have read. Her story was very emotional and you could really feel her emotions throughout her journey. This one hit a spot in my heart and will remain there. I was happy with her choice in the end (won't say who so I don't spoil it for others). I liked most of the characters as well. There were a couple that I didn't like and thought they were quite detestable. I would highly recommend this book to others...but we forewarned you may need a box of tissues.

I really liked the overall story and the characters were all interesting to follow. There were quite a few grammar errors (extra words, missing words, wrong words) throughout the book. The ending is very abrupt. There was some suspense right before the ending, so you are just left emotionally hanging. It is a HEA ending, but so abrupt that I didn't feel there was enough resolution of things to make me feel good after finishing the book. I felt like I was left hanging on a few things.

Decisions, decisions.....I think it was very obvious who she would choose. All the plot twisting, turning, hugging and kissing filled their road with way too much drama. Her millionaire is convincing enough but to me, she was all over the place and she didn't seem emotional ready or stable enough for a relationship let alone marriage. I think he seemed more than patient enough to help her get there though.

Outstanding fun and escape.

Catalina Romance is, first of all, very well written. With descriptions of the landscape, the scenes and very well developed characters. Anastasia Alexander has the gift to bring the reader into the story and to stand in the shoes of each character. It’s the perfect read for a cold winter weekend or a warm beach day. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

So again we are back on the reality show set, this time with Charissa, one of the original female contestants on JT's show, as the person being wooed by a number of millionaire bachelors.
There is a lot of drama, on and off the set, which adds to very good tale, that keeps you guessing right to the end of the story.

A well-written story that I could not put down once I started it. This is Charissa, Forester, Shawn, Andrew, Rocco, Brett, and Jared's story. This is the fourth book in the Millionaire Romance series. I enjoyed reading this story. I received a copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it.

My Review

Sorry but I just could not finish reading this story. Charissa and Andrew seemed like a likable characters. Trying to complete the picture of all the personas involved in this romance has exhausted me.
