This was a book purchased based on a laminated flier attached to a telegraph pole in Fowey! How glad I am to have stumbled across this. What a lovely book. Philip Hadley is obviously a font of historical knowledge for Cornwall during the war years and as a Fowey/Cornwall visitor and devotee for many years, I found this book fascinating. So much information about the area has been interwoven into a gently beguiling romantic storyline with Major Isaac Trevennal and Elizabeth Treluckey. Such a lovely read. Best read and enjoyed with a cup of tea and a piece of cake. Looking forward to the next instalment of this romance.
