I was required to read this book for school, and could not put it down. It not only talks about global health, it discusses the political, environmental and social conditions that lead to health crises. THEN it talks about how you (the health care provider/reader) can help! I love it. But a lot of less socially conscious people in my class really hated this book. I still have no idea why, unless they dislike being exposed to the truth of what is happening in the world.

Good book. Packed with information, yet over emphasizes the role of religion in healthcare. The first pioneering doctor was Hippocrates that disconnected religion from medicine.
