I won this book in a goodreads drawing.

After the events of the last book, which I haven't read, a female FBI agent is speeding to work. She needs to tell her superior she has feelings for him. Meanwhile, the superior is mooning over her. A prisoner gets out on parole, and is going to get his revenge on them.

I rolled my eyes a lot.

I did not realize when I entered this giveaway that I this was part of a series. I enjoyed the book, but I do feel like I would have liked it more if I was more invested with some of the characters. Interesting plot. Strong female MC. 3.5 stars

This was my first book in the LIv Bergen Mystery series. I liked it and it could be read as a stand alone. The suspense was real, the characters were well developed and the story held my attention until the end. I have a few complaints. The first was that the author gave us a lot of detail on facts that were unnecessary to the story, for example all of Liv's siblings full names and their meanings. Second was the fact that Liv was an FBI agent and yet was very naive about a lot of things. She withheld essential information that might have kept her and Streeter safe and aware of potential danger. Also for an FBI agent, she did a lot of things to put herself in danger like answering a door without checking who it was after being followed earlier in the day. She also knew there was a dangerous criminal on the loose and yet when she had a car accident she didn't take any safety precautions when dealing with the person who hit her thereby putting herself and her protection in danger. I just didn't buy a lot of the situations that she got herself into. I liked the book and will probably read more in the series but I wish the characters actions were more true to what they were supposed to be.

The Liv Bergen Series by Sandra Brannan will split audiences, either loving or extremely disliking the books.
On the positive the books are faced paced, with a modern female lead. The gripping story line twists and turns like a snake on a mission.

On the negative, after the first, the books fall into a pattern, with the spice losing its flavour quickly. The second and third books are a much harder read.

The first book in the series “In the Belly of Jonah”, introduces the characters Liv Bergen, amateur sleuth, and her love interest, FBI Agent Streeter Pierce.

They investigate the gruesome murder of her summer intern Jill Brannigan. More murders are quick to follow, by a madman with an appetite for human art.

I love the Liz Bergen books! While looking for a new series to read, I stumbled, literally I tripped over one of her books, into Sandra Brannan's books. Ms Brannan has done an excellent job of maintaining her characters while gradually expanding their history. So you not only get a great mystery to figure out, you join familiar characters in their lives. Even without knowing of Liz' unusual family, you will enjoy the "mystery" with it's unusual ending.

This book makes me want to go and read the other books in this series. This is a very well written book with a very intriguing and riveting story. The characters are well described and the scenery is written with real imagery. A very good mystery with a touch of a love story thrown in. I highly recommend this story to anyone that likes a good mixture in their thrillers. Very mysterious keeps you guessing until the very end. Even though this book comes from a series, it did well as a stand alone. Like I said though I will go back and read others from this series as I really enjoyed this authors writing.

Sandra Brennan has done it again. As in the other books with FBI agent Liv Bergen, we find out more and more about her. However in this one maybe we found out a little too much. Liv is returning to work after the death of her boyfriend and things are getting back to normal so to speak. She is dealing with the fact that she really did not love her boyfriend as much as she does Streeter Pierce who is a longtime colleague and her mentor. The reader is let in on a few things that probably do not seem real about Liv as an FBI agent. Things that no agent would do especially a female one. Such as opening a door without knowing who is on the other side. We do get to finally see Liv and streeter get together, however something is going to happen and it has a biblical pretense to it. I recommend this book but I do not think you should read as much into it as I did. I guess maybe I took things too literal but I did really enjoy the read and still thought about it far after I finished it.

I. Love. These. Books!

I take great pleasure in reading a book with a well-crafted plot and characters with all too human traits. I've come to expect nothing less from Sandra Brannan in her Liv Bergen mysteries. She just doesn't disappoint. Here is another cleverly Biblical title, replete with Biblical passage, to tempt and tantalize.

Is it strange that I read all the most human scenes with tears in my eyes? Well, I do. I say that without shame. There are scenes in these purported procedurals that do so very tenderly touch my heart. As far as I am concerned, the backbone of a good series lies in the backstory. Liv Bergen and her eight siblings, Streeter Pierce with his self-contained torment keep me reading from book to book. These characters have become very real people in my world of books.

I recommend that you pick up copies of all seven books in the Liv Bergen mystery series, curl up in your comfy reading spot, and enjoy the roller coaster ride that is Liv's life.

Liv is a special agent FBT returning to work after temporary leave from witnessing the brutal murder of her boyfriend Jack. Streeter is her boss and the one who took care of her for weeks and called to check on her to make sure she was going to be ok throughout her recovery. However, when Liv confesses her love for Streeter, things get rocky fast as Liv becomes involved in Streeter's past with an escaped murderer from prison and more mystery murders showing up. Streeter leaves his love for Liv on hold as he goes out into the field in search behind the new mysterious murders and his guess is only one name comes to mind but the question remains as to how he got out and what is his revenge towards him? The suspense is baffling and the mystery is intriguing. This book will have you sitting on the edge of your seat, gripping the arm rest, holding your breath, turning page after page and leaving you wanting more.

This is the first book of the Liv Bergen mysteries. It started a little slow for me--then Wow! I enjoyed it and look forward to reading more in the series.

Jeremiah's Revenge is a Liv Bergen mystery, and there are details about her life that a prior reviewer (on Amazon did not find relevant. But in writing a series, an author often adds background details for each continuing character so that as the reader progresses through each volume he learns a little more about them. You will become invested in the characters and want to read the book just to catch up with their lives. I understand this might annoy people reading a book from the middle of a series. But don't be misled into thinking this isn't a good book. It's a great mystery with unforgettable characters that can be read as a standalone. Romance is a big part of this book too. Great addition to the series!

Another Homerun!

Jeremiah's Revenge is the bottom of the seventh inning but clearly shows the propensity for Brannan's characters to hunker down and take the reader into extra innings.

Liv Bergen is back and this time she is setting her sights on Streeter. Streeter is finally ready to admit how he feels about Liv. Then, a monster from his past rears his ugly visage and sends Streeter off the deep-end, trying to protect Liv as he was unable to protect his wife twenty years earlier. Can Liv bring Streeter back from the edge long enough to create a plan? Or has the monster already hit a high flying ball over the fence and beyond Streeter's reach, winning the game started two decades earlier?

This isn't supposed to be released until June 5.... but here we go. Jesus...this was good. Liv Bergen is my hero. I absolutely loved this book and I could not.....NOT put it down. This is where Liv and Streeter finally get together.....spoiler but we Knew it was bound to happen. In this book Jeremiah Coyotes Cries is out on parole and going after the one man who put him behind bars. Like killing his first wife wasn't enough. Streeter and Liv though are the heroes in this book with five stars of thriller action. If you loved the others then this will not disappoint!

Jeremiah's Revenge tells the brutal story of a man names Jeremiah Coyote Cries also called the Reverend who was sent to the Englewood Federal Correctional Institution in Littleton, CO. Jeremiah dealt drugs, committed murder and had a large number of people working for him. One of the murders was that of Paula Pierce who was the wife of Streeter Pierce who Liv Bergen worked with in the FBI and also loved. The story is interesting and kept me guessing as who would be the next person killed Jeremiah and who Streeter and Liv would out smart Jeremiah. The ending was a surprise while being another good book by Sandra Brennan.

This was a series book, but also worked as a stand alone story. I will be looking for the other books in the series.

I did enjoy this book.. it has some interesting plots and twists.. but also some things that Liv should have known being an FBI agent.. she was a little careless and not what you would expect from an agent like not being very cautious of being followed or opening the door for strangers.

There was some good suspense to the story and a good story line. I would recommend this book to other readers.

Goodreads Kindle Copy Win

FBI Liv Bergen has finally come to terms with death of her boyfriend as she returns to work. She realizes she did not love him as she was still in love with her mentor. As she return, the two get close as they become an item.

Things do not remain peaceful for long as a former inmate is on the loose and he wants said revenge on the mentor. He sets his eyes on Liv as bait. Will she be able to survive before they both end up dead?

A quick paced enjoyable read.

I'm pleased to have received Jeremiah's Revenge as a Goodreads Giveaway. It restored my conviction that Sandra Brannan can write. I especially like it when she writes about the state where I now reside. Since I am not in the western half of the state, I learn more about it, but also I think she is truly most "at home" as she writes of SD. I'm hesitant to mention more about the book for fear of giving things away. If you love mystery series, I recommend starting at the beginning of the series and grow to appreciate Liv Bergan.

I received a Kindle copy of this book in a Goodreads giveaway. I have wanted to read this author, but this is the first book I have read in the series. I prefer to start from the beginning of a series, and in this case there is some backstory for the main characters, particularly at the start of the book. The characters are well-written, and I liked the alternating viewpoints. Some of the story is told from the villain's viewpoint. I will go back to the start of the series, because the setting and characters are interesting.

I love Luv Bergan.

I love Sandra Brannan's Liv Bergan series. I have learned about mining, motorcycle gangs, art, cerebral palsy, and now the Lakotan tribe. The characters are people you'd like to have living next door. I always feel like I know them well. I hurt when they hurt, cry when they cry, and laugh with them. Luv makes me yearn for a large family. Lots of action and thought provoking. Always a fun read!

I made myself wait two weeks after the release date to purchase my e-book. Then I choose to go back and re-read the entire series. It has been an action packed suspenseful thriller series. Jeremiah's Revenge had me holding my breath until the very end. I don't think the author could of thrown in more twists and turns if she tried. What an exciting adventure!

Even though, as I was surprised to discover, this is the 6th installment in the Liv Bergen mystery series, I totally enjoyed it! While knowing the back stories of the characters would have added to the experience, the author did a great job of seamlessly providing all the information needed to appreciate the story as a stand-alone. Fast paced thriller/suspense story which provides many twists and turns that should satisfy most
readers. While there are numerous books involving the main character prior to this story, it worked for me as a stand a lone saga. 4 star recommended book.

Different type of heroine

This was an interesting read because it was not the normal fare. Liv is an interesting character who is smart about some things but not about other things. In the world of violence, she seems to be completely unprepared and needs others to keep coming to her rescue and ultimately save her life.
