Eighteen-year-old Leticia Stewart will soon be married to Sir Henry Vexin, the strict gentleman who has been her guardian since she came of age, but first she must be properly trained. Though Sir Henry's plans for Leticia will often leave her blushing with shame, she will also frequently find herself quivering with need as her beautiful body is thoroughly and skillfully mastered. To help prepare his young bride for her new role, Sir Henry enlists the aid of Dr. Reginald Brown, and when Leticia refuses to undress for the respected physician's examination she is soundly spanked. But it is only after she is caught in a scandalous act with her beautiful young maid that Leticia truly learns what it means to be punished in the most intimate way possible.Publisher's His Bride's Shameful Training is the ninth book of the Victorian Correction series. Emily Tilton, whose books have hit number one on Amazon in six different erotica categories, wishes she could live out her fantasies of submission the way her characters do.
Emily's erotica is a narrative version of her nearly lifelong quest to reconcile her submissive erotic orientation with her ethics. She writes erotic romance, but her books are always frankly and unashamedly about sex, because writing about sex helps her understand that fundamental part of her life better. She hopes maybe it does the same for her readers.
Over the many years since Emily became aware of her sometimes unbearable craving for spanking, ravishment, and all the shameful things that go with it, she has tried to come to terms with that craving in more ways than she can count. The first of the ways was by reading, voraciously, every piece of BDSM erotica she could find.
Eventually, she read "Story of O." As is reflected throughout her work, it changed her life, though the change has been gradual, and continues to this day. The idea that other women might share the lusts she has by turns been ashamed of and defiantly proud of, that a woman like the real Pauline Réage might write so beautifully of those lusts, and work them out so thoroughly and even pitilessly on a character, put Réage's famous pencil in her right hand. Or, to put it in the terms of EXPLORATIONS, which she considers her magnum opus, it put her left hand on the keyboard of her laptop and her right hand in her lap, if you know what she means. Emily started to write spanking stories.
This is typical Ms. Tilton book. Lots of smoking hot sex, discipline and very little romance. I did not like the addition of the maid and docter into the mix. There did not seem to be much care or connection for Leticia, Sir Henry supposed real wife. I found it difficult to finish due to the lack of connection between the main characters.
This is so hot you'll need to put your kindle in the freezer
If you've not read an Emily Tilton book before don't expect a complex plot in this one. There isn't much story other than a husbands desire to have a submissive wife, along with scenes of both a disciplinary and sexual nature. That isn't a criticism, but unlike the more domestic discipline type 'Victorian Bride' reads, this is VERY MUCH an out and out erotic read. And a very well written erotic read it is too. The book is written in the third person but does switch perspective between several of the main characters.
It almost feels as though we are dropped into the story part way through, which I did find a little odd at first. However as the story progresses and we get scenes from Sir Henry's perspective and these fill in some of that 'missing' information. I've only read a novella in this series and I think had some impact on my understanding of Dr Brown and his discipline/training/natural man ideas. However this wasn't to the extent that I couldn't enjoy this story, and lets face it this is all about the titillation.
My feelings are that this felt even 'naughtier' given the Victorian setting. Plenty of these scenes could have been set in a modern day read or an 'alien capture' read and whilst still steamy wouldn't have felt quite so forbidden. There is also an underlying them of dubious consent, though at one point Sir Henry does ask permission of Leticia and when he believed she was refusing he did step back to honour her wishes.
I can't say that these characters will stay with me, I didn't feel a huge connection to them, though I did like them, Letitia in particular would be my favourite. However that isn't what this book is about - it's meant to be a hot read and it definitely is that. The descriptions are really good, emotions and feelings are expressed in the characters thoughts. The pace is good and there are some devious punishments inflicted on not only Letitia but her maid Celia too.
Will the debutante please her bridegroom by accepting his training? I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. This is my 9th book by Emily and I like an author who writes in dual point of view. Leticia is a debutante who is caught owning a risqué book so her mother informs her guardian and future bridegroom, Sir Henry. When Leticia and her maid, Celia are caught in a compromising position, Sir Henry establishes a strict punishment for Leticia and Celia. Dr Brown helps Sir Henry with their initial punishment, and teaching Leticia and Celia how to please Sir Henry. Will Leticia and Celia get past their adversary ways and seize upon their new future with Sir Henry? You have to read to find out.
A well written erotic book by the author. Sir Henry is determined to wed the delightful Leticia and when she is caught being naughty by her mother, it's time for some training to begin. With Dr Reginald Brown and his manual for the "natural man" Sir Henry goes about punishing Leticia and her maid. A delightful little novel. Don't expect much conversation as majority of the novel takes place over the punishment day.
Easy read.

I just could not get into this story Sir Henry Vexin just seemed like a little boy who wanted more and Leticia the wife and Celia her maid are to be trained in Dr. Brown's method for the women so that Henry gets everything he wants. A well written historical romance that is true to the timeperiod. The characters are well described. It has a nice storyline and plot. I would have liked a bit more romance in the story but I like the hint of darkness. Recommendable if you like your story with a twist and a bit of kink.
