When you lose all hope, what's left to live for?

Raine's sister Summer is getting married, she finally went back to work after taking the last three months of school off after her daughter Ava passed away. She doesn't go into her daughter's room because it hurts her so much. At Summer's wedding she meets Sly, who has secrets of his own. Sly walks Raine out to her car and they exchange numbers. Raine finally started to feel better about herself because of Sly. Sly surprises Raine by taking her to his grandmother's bakery and to his parents house.
Raine has had her share of heartbreak. She is a teachers assistant to second graders. She used to be a single mother. She is the maid of honor for her sisters wedding. Her parents died several years ago.
Sly runs his own company, running is a huge stress reliever. He is Charles's best man. He hates weddings and he has a dog named George. Summer is Raine's younger sister, Ava's aunt and she wants Raine to be happy again. Was there for Raine while she couldn't get out of bed. Charles is Summer's wedding, was there for Raine. Beau is Ava's father and doesn't want Raine with Sly. He works for Sly.
This book is amazingly well written and the characters were very well developed. I loved that I felt like I could connect with the characters. I also loved that I was hooked from the first page. Renea knows how to draw you into a story. I look forward to reading more book by Renea Porter

Sly and Raine have an instant connection from the first time they see each other. Something draws themselves to each other and later on in the book we realize they both suffered their own painful pasts. Sly’s is a littler father back than Raine’s most recent sadness and tragedy, but together they make it work.
It takes a little surprise of their own to really get down to Sly’s sad past, but once he comes to grips with his own hang-ups, these two are able to work it out. Raine is a very smart and calm character; sweet and understanding. Sly’s alpha/dominate side is super hot and I wish we could have seen more of his kink. Don’t get me wrong, the sex was hot, but would have liked more.

This is a stand-alone story/ not part of a series.
A little bit of drama, a smidge of BDSM, and a lot of sweetness and love against a backdrop of unbearable loss.
Likable characters that I could relate to, since I do know the devastating depression that follows the loss of a child for everyone involved in that child’s life.
I found the writing to be a little simplistic. Unfortunately, far too much time was spent on trivialities. Though well written and added to the story, they weren’t what the story was about. Every time I thought, “finally, some juice, some meat, some….thing!!” the situation was resolved in a sentence or two instead of being developed.
This is the first book I have read from Renea Porter and I will soon be picking up her newest release, Butterfly Effect.

It a story of two people who have faced tragedies in life and now they are ready to move on with each other's help. Raine lost her daughter and she is just about to finalise her divorce. Sly had also lost people in his life. When he meets Raine he feels something he hasn't felt before and he knows that she is the one for him. But will they be able to come to terms with their pasts and make a life together, a happy life...
The storyline is good and it is well written. The story is a little emotional (as there is too much pain and loss surrounding main characters) for my taste but still I liked reading it. Because it also shows how two people can make eachother happy and fill in the gaps in their lives. So it is also a story about hope and second chances.

I’ve read all of Renea’s books and I love them all so much. But this one was my favorite. I thought Renea did a brilliant job writing this book and it was different from the stuff she normally writes. But OMG it was amazing. I was hooked on page one, my heart broke for Raine when I found out her back story. She is definitely a strong woman. Sly is a sweetheart, he is mysterious but in a good way. I think the two of them are perfect for each other. This book was well written and interesting. I am so glad I was able to read another book from her. She keeps growing as an author and I think others would love her books, especially this one. Great job!!

Raine and Sly meet at Raine’s sister wedding and immediately click. He knows something has happened with her and decides he wants to see and make her happy even if just for a little while.
I liked Raine and Sly both as a couple and as individuals. They both are very complex and have their secrets.
I think the author did a great job writing these characters and making their story interesting. If you enjoy good romances I’m sure you will enjoy this book.

Raine was going through a divorce & grieving the loss of a loved one. She meets Sly at her sisters wedding. He falls for her & slowly things take place. He tells her his past as she reveals a surprise to him. This books well written & a great story. It shows how things can happen to help you heal & fall in love. Love how dominant Sly is. He's a very kind man.

An amazing read, I couldn't put it down that I finished it all in one day! I was gifted this book from the author and I wish it didn't take me this long to finally read it! It is such a great story about really finding true love after going through so much heart ack!

Raine lost her child and recently divorced. Sly is a friend of Raine's brother in law . They met at Raine's sister's wedding and hit it off. I am enjoying how Raine overcomes her hurt an mistrust and finds love with sly.

This book has a great story line to it. It moves a little faster then I like and I wish there was a bit more to the love story but it was a great read and I will forsure read more from this author.

A couple who both have suffered things in the past that were heartbreaking find each other. They meet, they date, they click, they both want a Happy ever after.
A quick read, predictable but enjoyable. Perfect to sit and read in one sitting.

Wow. Sunk hooked me from the beginning. I had no idea what to expect, and this completely took me by surprise. I didn't want to stop reading this heartbreaking, yet heartfelt story. I really felt for the characters when I learned about their past. This book is definitely a must read.

He’s a Dom. Super alpha male. She’s broken (untimely death of a daughter + divorce) but strong.
Why is her ex, Beau, trying to warn Sly away?
Writing seemed simplistic, plus there were a few typos. I’m not sure about the necessity of some portions ... I forget specific examples, though.
