Everyone has a secret. Aisha Khatri has many! Aisha’s life is seemingly mundane on the surface-she writes for television and takes care of her niece Kiara and her retired father. But when Kiara’s life is threatened during a modeling assignment for the famous Kabir Rana, once a suspect for his wife’s murder, the only way Aisha can save Kiara is by accepting the unique ability she has aggressively resisted all her life. Aisha is determined to protect Kiara even if it means placing herself in the crosshairs of a depraved killer who butchers beautiful girls and leaves them as grotesque displays. Is Kiara a target of a serial killer or is the killer closer to home-and Aisha’s heart? Who is Kabir Rana? An elusive and moody fashion photographer burdened with a dark past or a murderer who got away? How will Aisha save Kiara from a killer who is several steps ahead of an entire city’s police force? When the dead come calling, will Aisha answer? From the bustling streets of Goa to the beautiful palaces of Sirsa, Killer Moves is a fast-paced, gripping, romantic suspense tale with strong thriller and supernatural elements.
Varsha Dixit, the best selling author of four successful contemporary romance books. Her debut book, Right Fit Wrong Shoe was a national bestseller for the year 2010. Varsha was a part of the Indian Television Industry and worked as an assistant director and online editor. She considers herself a dreamer who thinks deep but writes light. Even though creativity is gender free,Varsha feels blessed and enriched to be a woman.Currently, with her family, Varsha resides in CA, USA.
Killer Moves is a mystery novel with some subtle & mild supernatural elements in the story. I found the story and build up to be pretty good, keeping the suspense well into the story.
Aisha Khatri is a person who has made many personal sacrifices in life to ensure that her niece Kiara has a good life. Kiara’s parents die tragically when she is still young. Kiara is an upcoming model, and has just taken up an assignment with the famous Kabir Rana. Kabir Rana has faced tragedy in the past which continues to haunt him. He finds himself drawn to Aisha, who is wary.
There is a serial killer on the loose, targeting women and killing them cruelly. The CBI gets involved in the cases, along with the Goa police, but it is not an easy chase.
The story shuffles between Mumbai, Goa and Sirsa. The story is very fast paced and engrossing. The writing could have used some more sophistication and nuance in the characterisation.
This is a book I recommend reading for its story and ability to keep you going till you finish it.
Just fell in love with this book. Gripping fascinating and a page-turner. Ms. Dixit has done a great job in combining supernatural /romance/ thriller. A very tough feat for any author to do. Wonderfully edited too and that makes this book a pleasure to read. Lovers of thriller and romance - and if you like an added dash of paranormal, this book is for you.
A girl who is drawn to the supernatural or is it a legacy that follows her? Aisha is a no-nonsense scriptwriter who works hard at denying the netherworld yet it is what helps her outsmart a killer. This is the first thriller cum mystery I have read by Varsha Dixit and I am floored once again. I have previously read and enjoyed her books and this one, Killer Moves is a must-read book.
I loved the Only Wheat Not White and The Wallflowers but this one is very different from those feel good romance novels. While Only Wheat Not White was a family drama with a love story, The Wallflowers was a prequel to the contemporary romance book A Hasty Hookup.
Killer Moves is a thriller with a killer on the prowl, not just a regular murderer but a serial killer. Aisha has a secret that brings her right in the sight of the killer. She is just following her niece, Kiara to her photo shoot in Goa to keep an eye on her. The boss, Kabir has been accused of the murder of his wife and Aisha is worried about her niece. The killer is on the prowl around the models plus Aisha finds it increasingly difficult to ignore the real reasons she wants to be around. Interest in Kabir and secrets from her niece. The killer, his victims, Goa and the gruesome killings ensure that Kabir, the police officer and Aisha can’t trust anyone and even the most trusted ones cheat on them. Who is the killer is quite a twist and the ending more so with a conflict I did not see coming at all.
Varsha has delved into the occult and the super-natural and not just killers in this book. The story is fast-paced, kept me turning the pages and made a fan of Varsha’s writing yet again. She has blended the mystery with the lives of the girls as well as a hint of romance beautifully.
Killer Moves is more of a thriller than a romance. It has elements of a budding romance that adds fine layers to the story. Aisha and Kabir both have their own demons to fight and yet are drawn to each other. They find a balance with each other even though they are as different as can be. The author has given hints of a sequel even though this is a stand alone book and I eagerly look forward to the next book in this series.
Varsha is a natural in this genre as well as romance. She has taken the ‘other-world’ and blended it with this world and made a smashing, scintillating, supernatural read. A book that will keep you awake, turning the pages as you race with Aisha to catch a killer. Pick this one if you want to read something different yet an engrossing read.
I am eagerly waiting for the next book in the series already!
Loved the transition of Aisha from a writer to a behaviour analyst.
Two people who have experienced death very closely and have related and dealt with it differently happen to meet. What happens next? Do they attract death again or do they teach other to deal with it? As the blurb reveals how does the supernatural come into picture. Aisha is writer for a tv serial, Kabir is a fashion photographer. Aisha's maternal instinct to protect Kiara her niece from the ill famed Kabir Rana makes her take a trip to Goa. Here there have been a slew of brutal murders of young women. Do Aisha or Kiara face the threat?
A very tightly woven plot, with suspense, romance, thrill and supernatural elements in the story with characters who come to life in front of your eyes.
Just pick it up and read it you will not regret the read, in contrast you will rather enjoy it. I read this book in one sitting, couldn't put it down.
Disclaimer: I don’t generally like to read supernatural/paranormal or dark thrillers. But I was gifted this book and decided to give it a chance. I like my protagonists and antagonists to be clear right from the start, but this book turns the concept on its head. Who is innocent? Who is guilty? Nothing is as it seems. But the author kept me trapped in the pages filled with danger and fear for the complex characters. The gripping page-turner weaves through a web of deceit, conflict, murder and love, leading to a satisfying end. I might check out other books in this genre and by this author. Recommended for lovers of paranormal romantic suspense.
This book is just amazing!!!! Never came across a book from Varsha Dixit that i didn't like in the first place, but this one was just phenomenal!!!! Didn't find one single flaw!!!! Gripping story line that keeps you on your toes!!!! Characters are beautiful...
Read it in one go. Just unputdownable. Wish Varsha writes the sequel to this soon. Killer Moves is everything that a thriller book must have. Well, I'm glad I trusted my instincts on this one.
When your favorite romance author, pens a thriller, the level of expectations are high. So when Varsha Dixit’s Killer Moves was released, I was eager to read it as I have read all her previous romance novels and have loved reading her work.
So was it up to my expectations? Well, it was more than that. I was surprised and held in awe. Just like her romance books, the story of Killer Moves is just flawless and a super addictive read.
The protagonist Kabir and Aisha, both victims of childhood tragedy are thrown together due to circumstances and sparks fly, but will it kindle the fire between them?
Varsha has definitely written a super thriller story, which gives you chills and keeps you on edge of your seat while reading it.
Awesome book cover, fast-paced story, well-defined characters are all the plus points of Killer Moves.
So if you like to read a thriller and you want to read a good book, this one is a must read.
A page turning novel! Sacrificing years of her life and her dreams, Aisha takes care of her niece and father after the brutal murder of her brother and sister in law as well as losing her mother to cancer. As her niece is all grown up and wants to live her life by her own rules Aisha is faced with learning how to stop being overprotective and let go. This leads her to Kabir; a handsome prince who denies his title because of all the tragedy in his life. A dead sister, a dead wife and only him being present at the time of their death. Years later as the number of bodies of young beautiful women starts going up Aisha and Kabir are pushed together but they keep fighting the undeniable attraction. Having lost loved ones is something they have in common, but, is that enough for them to open their hearts to each other. The lines blur between love, friends, family and ruthless killers. An amazing story definitely worth reading!
I am already in love with this book and as soon i finished it,i am already yearning for the next one in the series. The supernatural spirit twist was mind boggling.I never skip any book from Varsha and it has always paid me well.
Serial killers are making a favorite villain of suspense novels owing to the danger they pose and remaining enigma to all concerned. More victims followed by investigation all take you to the edge of the seat experience.
I like such type of thrillers not only for the goosebumps they give but also several ideas, lessons, modes - operandi and messages they convey through the story.
Killer Moves by Varsha Dixit is an alarming and exciting tale totally tearing that leaves the readers shocked and surprised at the end. Crafted with a fervor that is both boisterous and compassionate this is an intricate and powerful novel.,
Yea you are correct about the title. Killer moves to tell that the killer is not only moving but also making moves. There are totally 98 chapters ending with an Epilogue
The cover design is apt for the genre

The enormously interesting story of characters at many levels of struggles and challenges

A Sinister thriller with ample turns and twists and it is a sure roller-coaster ride.
For the murder mystery genre, supporting characters also need to play an important role to keep them engaged and this novel doesn’t disappoint on this front.
The story progresses at a good pace and never seems to be stretched. This book can be reread as it reveals many profound thoughts that can linger in your mind for a long time
This articulately- written book has got a wonderful coherency to it. The narrative proceeds in a fluency which is amazing
There are a plethora characters and all fit into their roles perfectly. Aisha the protagonist has impressed me a lot. She is at her best in reading between the lines and other skills. Also, I like the romance between her and Kabir.
Kabir for his devotion to his profession and simplicity albeit he belongs to a royal family.
This story has myriad of angles and the plot is panoptic with all the subplots leading to the unexpected convergence. A strong daring social drama to be read by fans of thrillers.
This strong daring novel is to be read by fans of thrillers. Recommended to those readers looking for the thrill and read an interesting adult contemporary novel.

Fast paced read that was an intense, eerie, and suspenseful thriller... A sure-fire winner!
I received Killer Moves by Varsha Dixit for free through Goodreads Giveaways for an honest review.
A blood-filled tale that occurs in major indian places. There is no easy way to summarize this brilliantly narrated story. The book starts with twinning, gripping story and book will never let you down. It’s a really fast paced book which I enjoyed but sometimes the pace of the book would be too much overwhelming. For me, the author Varsha Dixit is a literary genius and have written a thought-provoking book." It was a deadly storm,- a storm that could kill, a storm that did". The book is purely normal and paranormal and only twist keeps it simple read.
I thoroughly loved Kabir and Aisha's characters and their portrayal is transformational and prodigious. These characters are something which will be in your minds for so many days. I have now started exploring more of Varsha Dixit's books and I will for sure read more of her works.
OMG....Varsha Dixit....You have awesome grip on the characters from the beginning...it is very long since I read something this thrilling by an Indian author....You have done a tremendous research and Killer Moves is surely a page turner....Kudos to you...All I can say about this book is.... Gumnam Hain Koi Badnam Hain Koi, Kisko Khabar Kaun Hain, Woh Anjan Hain Koi.......the book which made me step on two boats...like i want to read quick and find out who is the killer and one I don't want to the book to complete....it is so thrilling, secretive and suspense filled novel....Wonderful work Varsha...Waiting to read more...
The characters are well-defined. Aisha, especially, comes off as the most well written character. The killer too. Varsha’s minimal description of the killer’s personality everytime is enough to send that proverbial chill down your spine.
The best part, it isn’t just one twist. The story will surprise you in the most expected as well as unexpected ways.
The chemistry between Aisha and Kabir is also one of the highlights of this story. Well-written and the perfect combination of the clichéd and new.
So, the pros: 1. I loved the description of people, especially the killer(s). It literally gave me chills. 2. The story was fast paced, no faltu rona-dhona! 3. There are things left to be unraveled, that means a sequel. (Yayyyyy!!) 4. Not only the protagonist, the supporting cast were given space too. Though i would like to know more about Parth.
& the cons: 1. The romace wasn't convincing, like it didn't give me jitters like Sneha - Nikhil. The angle felt forced. 2. It just went too fast paced at times.
Wow! I just really want to gush over this book. I just wanted to keep reading. The pace of the story is done so well and it doesn't slow or lull. I really felt the loss that these characters had gone through and Aisha just grabbed my full attention. Kabir at first, I was unsure about but before I knew it I was just as invested in him. The plot was great, the twists and turns had me hook line and sinker. I loved that this novel had romance, intrigue, loss, murder and love! I want to read more by this author!
Aisha is no ordinary girl ... and so begins a tale of supernatural, paranormal, and dark thriller themes that unfolds in a deliciously enticing way. Along the way the cast of players will make you doubt who's innocent or guilty and who had a deeper desire to spill blood. Is everything as it seems?
Aisha and Kabir aren't the characters you think they are and from the beginning your own doubts and suspicions will keep you on the edge of your seat as the shocking truth is slowly revealed. A wild tangle of conflict, greed, lies, lust, and murder - who's the truly guilty party? Is it only one person?
Wonderfully written and edited, a psychological thriller you don't want to miss!!
Characters: 4/5 Plot: 4.5/5 Word Building: 4/5 Story Flow: 4/5
This was an attention catcher right from the first page. It was difficult to put down.
The only thing that I found a little disappointing was that the author handled the whole “I can communicate with the dead” a little apologetically as if she was not sure of the audience’s response. That angle could have been developed a little more to make this a really great story.
I can well imagine this as a nail biting scary movie.
I loved this book! I have read most of Varsha Dixit's books and this one did not disappoint. I read it in two days and only because I had to get some sleep! I just had to know what would happen next. The story is gripping and a real page turner. The suspense is throughout the book and doesn't let up. I cannot wait for the next book in the series.
This book is totally enthralling and amazing. Undisputably it can be read many times. All the characters are defined with fine details so one can feel them. Author has wonderfully captured the beauty of relationship between aunt and niece. Captivating story and perfect editing makes it a delightful read. Waiting for the next one.
Having read Varsha Dixit's previous books, I am a great fan of her writing.. I always loved her writing.. This one is definitely different from other books and would make you finish the book in one go... A definite read for people who like suspense thrillers..
The only novel I fell in love with after Agatha Christie's novels. This wont let you sleep until you have read the last page. I just loved how the author made me hooked up till last with her beautiful story line and characters.
The book is a good read. has its twists and turns.
The book is a good read. Good plot , the writer has done her research. The narration is a bit off at places and also the language is also a bit iffy. On the whole it was an enjoyable book but.
My first book on my kindle and I finished it in one day. A page turner in a literal sense. Loved loved loved it. Thank you ma’am for writing. Your books are really special. Amazing read.
