A fantastic anthology of stories inspired by classic tales of horror, each one with a punk twist, and each one telling a dark, unsettling, powerful tale that kept me hooked. Some standouts for me included The Clockwork Cowboy (inspired by Shelley's Frankenstein), Hollow (inspired by The Legend of Sleepy Hollow), and The Secrets of the Abbey (inspired by Stoker's Dracula). Highly recommended reading!
I cannot and will not review my own work in these pages, but I gush at the others. I'll be brief in my assessment, listing the ones I liked best, but please read this volume and enjoy them all, for every one of them was amazing. I particularly liked Stars the Color of Hope by Carol Gyzander (and wanted more of it) and The Tinker of Shalott by Anthony Stark. These are brilliant punk genre fiction versions of horror stories. Get to know them.
An enjoyable collection of stories inspired by some of my favorites. Some are deeply engaging, some did not pull me in so thoroughly - but I appreciated each one.
