The first 1/3 of the book is a long explanation of how and why this man—Kevin Curry—chooses to meal prep. I skimmed it because my reasons are not his reasons, and I’m here for the recipes.

When I got to the recipes, I was a little bummed about the macros. A lot of recipes were very high in fat and low in protein, which is totally fine—for delicious food. When you’re eating 20 grams of fat for a dry quinoa nugget…I think I’d rather have a burger.

I also don’t think these recipes were very conducive to meal prepping, particularly for a multi person household. I tend to prep and freeze meals rather than make 4 servings and save 3 as leftovers.

Overall, this book isn’t for me, but I’m sure it’s for someone!

I am a big fan of Kevin Curry’s! I’m subscribed to his YouTube channel and I have bought his app. I like that his recipes are relatively simple and straightforward, and will mostly rely on whole food ingredients. They are also tasty, which is the whole point!

The recipes in this book are quite diverse, covering many cuisines as well as the gamut of “non-restricted”, low carb, Paleo, and vegetarian.

I’m giving the book 3 stars, because, as is the nature of a book, the recipes are limited. I think he has even better recipes in the app, as well as many many more. I do recommend giving the book a try though, so see if your local library has a copy you can borrow!

I wanted to mention to that one of the reviews mentioned hard to get ingredients. Unless you live in a small town with limited options, I feel like any grocery store with a decent selection of “American“ and “international“ foods would have most of what I saw mentioned in these recipes. Miso, arrowroot, curry paste, curry seasonings, etc.

Not for picky eaters or people who actually have a small budget

I love that this has pictures and everything looks amazing. This may be the go to book for you, but Not for me! I have a small budget after bills are paid and some of the ingredients are not something that fits in it. Also other than couple dinner dishes and some of the smoothies, I nor my family would eat them. No hate!!!! Just not for me

The recipes were a great starting point. As with most home-made dishes, you want to make it your own and Curry even gives some tips on how to do that in his book. I found all but one smoothie recipe lacking and the book started to fall apart after a few months but everything else was great.

It had some really interesting recipes. I was checking it out as a possible gift for the men in my life. I don't think it's a great fit. There are a lot of grains we haven't tried, and the same with spices. Glad I borrowed the book.

I LOVE that this cookbook had something for everyone, keto, vegan, vegetarian, etc. It also had swaps listed for the recipes to change it up and or make it vegan/vegetarian friendly.

Dude is awesome and the layout of this cookbook is great. My favorite so far is the low carb jambalaya.

Solid recipes and book. However, it is a very expensive diet to follow.

Kevin got me on track to creating better smoothies and I copied about a dozen of his recipes to try. They are healthier versions of things we already make so it was right up our alley!
