Caitlyn The only one I ever wanted was my best friend’s brother. I knew I could never have him - he just never looked at me in that way. So, I left the small-town life behind me to follow my dream and hoped for a new life in Montpelier. Now, I’m heading back to my hometown, dreading the thought of having to deal with my father again. I knew Logan would be there and loving the thought of seeing him again, but watching him is all it’s ever going to be. Me staring at him while he makes out with his latest. Me knowing it’s time I lost my V-card, but only being able to picture him doing it. I was bracing for more of the same old life I grew up with until I found myself behind him on his motorcycle, holding on for dear life and loving being so close to him. My only wish now is that I could make this feeling last, but wanting to go faster with him at the same time…

Pretty sure by now everyone knows what the story is about, small town girl grows up and leaves for big city. Tragedy brings her back, still has crush on same boy and then they get down and dirty.

It was a quick read and maybe that was the reason I really didn't connect with the characters, it felt rushed. However not a bad story, I only have one question about both Logan and Catlin father Bill, both alcoholics have been for a while and just like that they gave it up, no struggling with giving up the drink, nothing. That was great in theory but not reality.

There are some sex scenes and they were light but good, nothing over the top, just two normal individuals having a good time.

Loved the cover.

Caitlyn Reid was trying to track down her missing cake that she had been icing before she had to stop to take a phone call. Working here in the Revellier’s bakery had been her dream. People came from long distances just to buy their cakes and pastries, and it was a coveted job to work here. One day she intended to open a bakery like this of her own!

Her phone buzzed again, this time from her best friend, Cheyenne Steele. Although Caitlyn’s dad had just called from the hospital to tell her about his drunken accident hitting a tree, Cheyenne could give her the full details. His arm was broken and he could not get himself out of bed, he claimed, so there may be more damage. Caitlyn got an open-ended leave of absence from work and headed home.

After visiting her dad, who told her he had no one who could help him out while he recovered, she stopped at the diner where Cheyenne was a waitress. Logan, her long-time crush, was there having breakfast and Cheyenne took a 5-minute break to chat with him and Caitlyn. But when they reminisced about Willa’s birthday cake mess-up, Logan quickly got up and left. What was that all about? Why couldn’t he even bear to hear the name of his deceased little sister?

The longer Caitlyn spent with her dad, Cheyenne, and Logan, the more it became clear that each was suffering in their own way. But there was healing going on as well. Getting closer to Logan, close enough to find what she had always wanted, opened up possibilities that she wasn’t sure she should explore. Would each of the people she loved work out their issues and open their hearts to move forward? Or would she return to her prestigious bakery job and plan a different future?

This was a heartfelt story that I enjoyed reading. It brought back good memories for me of a small town life where everyone knows and cares about each other, even if they sometimes have trouble expressing it. The characters were very real and likable, especially because the author let us see how sometimes you don’t really know a person if all you do is listen to someone else’s misperceptions. People are complicated and there is usually more to them than is seen at first glance. The twists and turns in this story will reveal important things, so don’t miss reading this one! It’s definitely worthwhile!

I have no interest in baking, and I was not sure if I would like this book. However the author’s writing style hooked my interest and I finished the book the same day.

Each of the characters has some emotional pain and each of them uses a different coping strategy. This helps give them additional depth in the story and, as they heal, this warms the reader’s heart. The dialogue between the characters was intelligently crafted to be both realistic and entertaining.

Caitlyn is well liked at the city pâtisserie where she works but has to return home when her father lands in hospital. Mum died when she was 14 and Caitlyn did not know that father had been hitting the bottle (his drinking led to the accident that landed him in hospital).

Having returned to the small town where she grew up she hooks up with her best friend Cheyenne. She quickly rekindles the crush she used to have on Cheyenne’s brother Logan. Caitlyn and Logan’s chemistry is strong and good sex follows.

Logan is still grieving over the tragic death of his youngest sister. He is good with his hands and does repair work around the town. He also likes to have a drink in his hands and we all know that alcohol doesn’t bring out the best in most people. Erratic communication and misunderstanding put their romance on a roller coaster ride and Caitlyn leaves town when she gets a job offer that she thought was a golden career move.

The new employer treats her badly and ultimately she returns home, thinking herself to be a failure. The support team of Cheyenne, Logan and Caitlyn’s father help her to move forward. The father has stopped drinking and is trying to stop manipulating his daughter. Logan has worked out that Caitlyn is The One and that his little sister’s death was not his fault (although still a tragic loss).

Happy ending, here we come!

I received a free, advanced copy of this book from the publisher. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.

Caitlyn Reid and Cheyenne Steele have been BFFs since grade school, in the small Vermont town of Vergennes. After Caitlyn's mother died from cancer when she was 8 and her father sunk into grief, she spent most of her time with Cheyenne. She also has had a huge crush on Cheyenne's big brother Logan since high school. But her dream was to become a pastry chef, so Caitlyn left town, studied at The New England Culinary Institute and before even graduation was offered a job at Revellier's, a renowned bakery in Montpellier, where she has worked for the last 2 years. One day she wants to open her own shop.

She rarely goes back home to visit. The last time was for the funeral of Cheyenne's younger sister, Willa, but did not stay to console her BFF. Unbeknownst to her, both her father and Logan have been drinking too much. This has lead to her father being in an auto accident and now in the hospital. With no one else to help him, she takes a leave of absence.

Spending time with her father, Cheyenne and Logan in Vergennes, opens Caitlyn's eyes to new possibilities and love. No two people handle and cope with pain and grief in the same way but Caitlyn's gentle way of listening helps healing.

This was a lovely, well written story with developed and intriguing characters. I had a difficult time putting it down for "vision" breaks.

For some of us we find that one person that we just click with instantly, some not so lucky.

Caitlyn left her hometown 5 years ago to pursue her dream of becoming a pastry chef. When she gets a call from her best friend that her dad was involved in an accident she makes a decision to take a leave at work to go back home to make sure her dad was OK. As she is driving back home, old memories surface along with feelings she thought would have eventually gone away.

Logan has been dealing with a tragedy along with his family for two years now. He drowns his pain and memories in alcohol and one-nighters. When Caitlyn walks into his sisters diner for the first time in two years he can't keep his eyes off her. As they share a cup of coffee and begin to catch up his sister comes to sit with them and the conversation takes a turn. He can't explain what he is thinking or feeling so he avoids it until he can't any longer.

This is the first book by Scarlet Wilder I have read and oh boy I was hook, line, sinker. I hated having to stop reading it so I could sleep a bit before work lol. I loved how we got both Caitlyn and Logan's POV's in this story. The flash backs helped to clear things up as the story went on and you couldn't help yelling at them from time to time. Have some tissues ready especially for the last two chapters, you will need them. Hopefully we get to see more of Caitlyn and Logan in the near future!!

Caitlyn is called away from her job as a pastry chef when her Dad has a car crash. Heading back to the small town to look after her Dad, all she can think about is seeing her best friend Cheyenne and her brother Logan who features heavily in her dreams. She realises pretty quickly that her friend is still struggling with her sisters death as is Logan. She also finds that her Dad has been lying about being in pain and unable to walk, he wants her to spend time with him and felt this was the only way to get her to come home for the first time in two years. Of course Caitlyn feels guilty for leaving everyone she loves when she sees they are all struggling, and her attraction to Logan is getting stronger.
This is an amazing read of self discovery and a journey through grief. Absolutely loved it and would highly recommend. Who doesn’t love a hunky best friends bother romance.

Logan Steele is a trouble young man that is drowning in his guilt and grief over the death of his youngest sister. Caitlyn is his other sisters best friend and has always felt like another sister to him. Caitlyn comes back to town to help her father recover from an accident and suddenly Logan sees her for the woman she has become. As Logn and Caitlyn spend time together and Logan starts to heal, Caitlyn’s supportive nature being a huge factor in that. The journey these two make to finding love is a charming journey that will tug at your heart. I highly recommend giving this one a try. You will find it more than worthy of your one click.

I really enjoyed this book, just like the others I have read of Scarlet's. The characters drew me in and kept me guessing when it came to the mysteries around them. I kept being drawn back to read little snippets as I got on with being a full time mum. I wished I could devour this book in one sitting not in a few snatched moments here and there and reading before bed as I willed on Caitlyn and Logan to make a go of it, to get past the sadness in themselves and wanting to reach into the book and shake them both until they came to their senses. I fell in love with both of them, even the shell of the man Logan thought he was due to a tradegy and loss of someone close to him.

Feeling It is a delightful, little romance. I am always a sucker for a Best Friend’s Sibling romance, so I was excited to read this book.

When Caitlyn returns home to care for her father, she knows she will run into her long time crush, Logan, at some point. As in Logan, her best friend’s brother. And she expects that crush to continue to be unrequited.

When they do see each other again, they get off to a rocky start. But, with the sexual tension being strong, they want each other.

The plot is definitely easy to predict, but it is still well done. I like the characters and I like them together.

Overall, Feeling It is not a bad way to spend a few hours.

I love Scarlet Wilder's stories!!!!! Having now finished her third book I have to say she has yet to disappoint me. It makes me realize I need more friends with brothers (the sisters are nice and all, but just not exactly the same). I think back at a few old crushes and got lost with one in particular.....oh damn he was hot!! I love how relatable these characters are even if I haven't experienced their kind of tragedy, thank GOD! I end up wanting to be Caitlyn's friend and completely get the unhinged attraction to Logan. No denying i'm addicted, hope she has another coming soon.......

Caitlyn has been in love with Logan, her brother's best friend, as long as she can remember. Knowing he will never feel the same she leaves the small town they live in to move on with her life. 5 years later she gets a call and her father was in a serious car accident so she goes home. She is excited and nervous to see Logan again. Will Logan finally notice her for the woman that she is or will he still think of her as her bother's little sister.

This is a well written book that deals with some heavy issues. The author does a great job bringing strong well developed characters in Caitlyn and Logan and gives them a strong connection and chemistry. The two together cope with their pain and grief. The author does a fantastic job dealing with their losses and both Caitlyn's father and Logan's alcoholism. Once started I could not stop reading their story. Well done Scarlet !!

Not long after she returns, she bumps in to Logan, her best friends big brother. She has always had a crush on him, but he has never noticed her. Until now. But she will be going back to the city soon so will they have a future?

First book I have read by this author and looking forward to more.

This was a quick sweet story. Caitlyn returns to her small town after her father's car accident and reunites with her best friend, Cheyenne and her brother, Logan. Caitlyn has had a crush on Logan since she was a kid and Logan finally notices the beautiful woman she has grown into. Will this just be a quick fling? Will Caitlyn once again leave town? Will Logan face the demons from his past? The story kept me engaged and I found myself rooting for Caitlyn and Logan to figure it out.

This is a really sweet romance, Caitlyn comes back to the small town she grew up in and meets up with her childhood crush, who also happens to be her best friends brother Logan. Can the crush she had turn into more? Does he feel the same? I was that caught up in the story that I never realised the end was coming.

I was able to connect to each one of these characters. There's loss and pain, joy and love all drawn into this book, I will be commending this to my friends. Mrs. Wilder weaves a wonderful tale. The lead female character left home and pursued her dreams getting away from her past. Just to come home and find more to add the icing to the cake. She finds out things she never knew plus some. If you enjoy a book that will keep you on edge, this is the one to read!

A sweet romance about that true love never dies in spite of what fate throws down on it. These two characters fight for their love. The mix of passion, chemistry, love, family issues, trust and emotional ups and downs makes it a great read. Very fast paced read which sometimes lacks depth to the story and characters.
It is written in dual POV and that gives the reader more of the thoughts and feelings of the characters.
Worth the read. Enjoyable.

Who can resist a best friend and brother romance! This fits the bill. Maybe it was just me though, but I thought the WIlla line could use a bit of tweaking. Not really sure of her age. And I did skip a bit after the "climax" (no pun intended)...it got a bit dull to me.
Overall though...good book!
