The Surfboard Slaying is book 2 in the Enchanted Coast Magical Mystery series and is a light, funny, witchy story guaranteed to make you laugh.
I was born and raised in the South and even hung my motorcycle helmet in Colorado for a few months. I've always had a touch of wanderlust and have never feared just packing up and going on new adventures, whether in real life or via the pages of a great book.
When I was a little girl, I didn't want to grow up to be a writer—I wanted to raise unicorns and be a superhero. When those gigs fell through, I chose the next best thing: creating my own magical lands filled with adventure, magic, humor, and romance.
I live in Florida with my two dogs and when I'm not writing or reading, I'm racing motorcycles with my taller, more handsome half, hanging out at the beach, or binge-watching anything magical on Netflix.
I'm eternally grateful for all the people who help make my life what is today - friends, readers, family. No woman is an island.

Destiny has her hands full with this mystery when a fairy prince is murdered behind the tiki bar. A new vampire is accused but Destiny knows that it isn't her and she is determined to prove it. I am really enjoying the setting and the characters in this series.
I really enjoyed reading this book and series. This book was entertaining and fun to read. This story was well organized. I recommend this book and series to all my friends and family members. Happy Reading!
A great read - but please note that there are some bad proofing errors and that it is only 90% of the page count. She enjoys just lazing in the sun, when she has free time from her manager's job at the tiki bar, so she didn't encourage conversation with the guests of the resort. However the young woman obviously needed someone to talk to. As a newly turned vampire she was feeling lost and alone. However a chat seemed to cheer her up. Returning to her job she is not surprised to see some fairies come for a drink before surfing but she is surprised to see one killed and his body left by the dumpster. Things get chaotic when it becomes known he is a prince and the king is on the warpath. But when the newly turned vampire is accused of murder she knows she has to do more. Can she find the proof that the woman is innocent? A great little read that will keep you guessing - I got it completely wrong! The characters add humour and feeling to the mix.
Destiny has rare day off. Marissa a newly made vampire, gets to talking with her. Nice kid but it's back to work at the tiki bar the next day. Since there's no tellin what type of paranormal will show up at the bar Destiny's job is never boring. When the four sons of the Fairie King show up for a last blast before the oldest son marries his pre-arranged bride, it's all sand & surfing. Later that night, Destiny literally stumbles over one dead prince, killed with his own dagger. So why is the enraged Fairie King Morel so set on Marissa as the killer even though she & Dain, the dead prince, had only watched a movie together in his room? Destiny is determined to find the real killer before Marissa goez down for the crimd. Tegan Maher always writes an excellent story no matter which of her worlds it's set in. Treat yourself by visiting all her series.
But I feel like this book was super rushed still know nothing of her boyfriend murder was solved withen 5 seconds so many errors. Very much unlike the first book. Auther spent more time telling us about meeting up with her cousin than actually looking and investigating we got more detail in the likeness of the sister foxes than we did about the clues it went - we have to find the real killer! Looks under table nope not here and onto where Margo caught him immediately like c'mon no hints of a affair from the king no direct clues besides the vault this book could've been so much more.
This was entertaining. The mystery was not easily solved and was a surprise to me at the end. Interesting characters and situations. Well done. REad it in a few hours.
Amazon synopsis: A handsome faerie comes to the Enchanted Coast for a killer vacation, but nobody counted on it being literal.
When Marissa Clayton, a recently turned vampire struggling with her new identity, falls under suspicion, Destiny can't just let her go down, especially when she knows for a fact the girl is innocent.
However, some secrets aren't hers to tell, so she has to do it the hard way - find the real murderer in order to get her new friend off the hook.
When her new friend is accused of murdering a visiting royal prince with his own dagger, Destiny just can't sit on the sidelines - she must prove her innocence!
I love the Enchanted Coast Resort and the various paranormal beings that both work there and visit. The author's imagination really kicks in when describing her characters - just plain fun!
A quick, fun and entertaining read - a great escape from real life for a few hours. I just adore the cover art - really gets you in the mood before you even crack the cover!
Angels, Mermaids, Witches, Werewolves, Vampires, Unicorns and more. The Enchanted Coast Magical Resort is for paranormal beings only. This is a place where they can be themselves in all their glory. Marissa is a newly turned Vampire that has come to the resort to think things through. Destiny likes her immediately. But when a faerie prince is murdered Marissa is arrested. Destiny is convince she is innocent can she prove it wasn't Marissa? If you like snarky paranormal mysteries that are fun fast reads, this is for you!
Tegan is awesome. Can’t put her books down. Literally read everything she’s written. Waiting for next release. This series Enchanted Coast is awesome. I also lived all the Keyhole Lake books. Think this writer has kept me from going over the edge. Yesterday I found out a patient passed away early in the day. It’s tough at any time when people loss their lives. But this horrible ‘world health crisis’ is an unknown. I went to my car at lunch to pull myself together and finished the book above. Needed the positive outlet. TY Tegan
WHAT WAS THE SECRET IN BOOK 1?!?!??! Why hasn't the author ever revisited it? It wasn't just the employee of the year. Ari said it was something else for a later date. I am super annoyed that the author dropped this and then never mentioned it again.
I like the books, I like the characters. I like the storyline and I like that it's not obvious in the first chapter what's going on.
These books need to be proofread though. So many missing words or wrong words used. Typos and grammatical errors everywhere.
So often sequels suck. That is not the case here. The character development of the new characters could have gone deeper and the mystery was solved matter of factly, without any flare. And I wanted some more wolfy romance. The book almost seems to have been finished hastily. The ending was too quick and there were several typos in the last several chapters. But overall I liked the plot and love the main characters, especially the Spinx.
A great supernatural cozy mystery series with a fun cast of characters and an entertaining storyline. Follow along as murders mysteries and mishaps happen at the enchanted coast resort. Follow along as our characters discover who or what causes all the problems. An entertaining mix of mystery a bit of Snark and even some fun at times. Check it out
This is the second in the Enchanted Coast Magical Mysteries. I enjoyed this one more than the first one! The storyline was intriguing and the characters were filled in more. The magic and magical beasts are very interesting as you learn more about them. This is a fun and easy read!
This series is fun. There are so many mystical and paranormal beings that it's exciting to see how they behave. Destiny is pretty cool but Margo and Stephanie are female baddas$es. The mystery is well written. It's always sad when a nice and innocent person dies a and this is one of those situations. The first book's victim was cruel and mean not the same here.
This is a great little quick read with lots of unexpected turns in it. It definitely didn't end anywhere near what I imagined but like all of Tegan's books it was definitely terrific!!! I highly recommend it...Now I'm off for the next one. Keep on reading my friends 😘
When a faerie is murdered and a newly turned vampire is blamed, Destiny and crew have to step up to solve the crime. The faerie king is running roughshod over everyone until Stephanie the Valkyrie offers to teach him some manners. I love the characters in this series, especially Margo.
No second book syndrome here, folks. In fact, I enjoyed it more than the first book now that we know who the regulars are, and more about Destiny, Colin and Blake. Love the resort setting, and that tiki bar sounds like a fun place. Will definitely continue reading the series.
A light yet substantial story about a murder at a secret resort for magic folk, like witches, vampires, unicorns, elves, gnomes, etc. the characters are distinct and are good company. The mystery was intricate enough not to be obvious, but not ridiculously complicated. It was logical and satisfying.
Very nice little book. Pleasant characters. Enchanting environment. A tidy little murder mystery all cleaned up; bad guy put away. What's not to like? Everybody goes back to their drinks. I only wish I could find the path to the tiki bar.
A quick read but it’s a good paranormal mystery perfect for that lazy afternoon read. It’s not predictable to figure out the ending and the author has a nice writing style. I enjoyed it and look forward to more.
Definitely enjoyed the characters and the story lines. I look forward to the next book in the series. This isn't the first time I have read this author work and I expect to read more.
Tegan's books are lots of fun. I think I have read every series she has out, so far. I am looking forward to reading the next Enchanted Coast book soon! I love the snarky characters, the scenes are well written and the plot lines carry through well.
Surfs up! A group of fairies are enjoying their vacation surfing, when one of them is murdered. Turns out that he’s not just any fairy, but a member of the royal family. Will Destiny be able to bring the killer to justice? Hang ten and find out!
I can't get I to this series for some reason. It's good but just not holding my interest. I'll read the rest but something is lacking in this series. Also, in this book the cousin's name was Mia but in the other books it's Mila. That ko.d of bothered me too.
Meh. Not as interesting as the first. I listen to them while I'm doing chores or crocheting, so they don't need to be really deep, but this one just want as fun.
Except for the Sphinx. She's awesome. She needs her own series!!
WhT can I say? I love Margo and Stephanie is currently my absolute favorite she rocks. Her interaction with the faerie king was priceless. I highly recommend this series.
Tegan writes with flair and great imagination that brings her characters to life. I love reading her books which are very well written. I have introduced members of my family who also enjoy her books.
Pretty simple and quick adventure with Destiny, Colin, Tempest, and the gang and they try to solve the murder of a Fairy prince and clear the name of a newly friend and newly turned vampire, Marissa.
Love this series...help, I've fallen down the rabbit hole, and I keep reading all her books. If you're looking for a fast read,Tegan Maher books have not been disappointed.
