The last couple of chapters hit me in the heart with a sweet and touching story about photos, memories and companionship, and the rest is the series' cozy/funny usual. It almost feels like the series could end here, but there are six more volumes past this one, and apparently it's is still being serialized. It isn't disappointing at all to know there's more to look forward to.
Was that a motherfucking Food Wars reference?! Sorry, I couldn't resist!
Seriously, the fried rice battle was hilarious and really did feel like a riff off of Food Wars, which I'm ALWAYS down for. The chapter where Kashiwagi thinks her boyfriend's cheating on her was pretty funny, but seemed too safe, like it went exactly where you think it's going to go, which is kind of disappointing. However, Kaguya and Ino's reactions to Kashiwagi's claims was funny and definitely worth it.
That final chapter, though...I was not anticipating getting hit in the feels that hard, but HOLY SHIT, it practically ran me over with feels. I really do love this group of misfits and how they band together to help others. Despite all of their failings, they are genuinely good people who will do what they can to make other people happy. Damn it, I'm tearing up now, gonna go cry beautiful, joyous tears!
There were so many cute and sweet moments in this volume! 🥹 Kaguya and Miyuki are always so close to confessing their feelings now and everybody around them treats them like a couple… Apart from Kaguya’s maid Ai who is still taking it as a challenge to get Miyuki Shirogane to fall for her. There’s no budging though, he is fully head over heels for Kaguya Shinomiya. They are the embodiment of the heart eyes emoji whenever they are around each other 🖤 4 Stars!
Kaguya is the vice president of their prestigious academy’s student council and she's in love with, Miyuki, the president, and he with her! BUT both are well aware that in love there is always a winner... and neither wants to be the "loser!" As both are geniuses and quite proud they spend each day laying in wait for an opportunity to get the other to confess without losing face... only Chika, their secretary and Ishigami, their treasurer, seem ready to innocently mess up their careful machinations.
The Premise
In Kaguya-sama Love Is War vol 10 we meet up with our favorite student council and fight for love and friendship! Ai Hayasaka, Kaguya's assistant, is ready to test Miyuki's dedication to his love. Sent to keep him from falling for another girl during a group karaoke date he unwittingly agreed to attend, Ai decides to win her bet with her master... To seduce Miyuki! This was hilarious!! We know these guys, we know what they are good at so the payoff is huge... we see Kaguya about bust a gut, and our little clueless Chika even gets involved.
The Buzz
I really loved and enjoyed Kaguya-sama Love Is War vol 10 because so many of the scenes were about the entire student council... including the newest member Ino! She's a bit of a stick in the mud but her interactions with Ishigami are too funny. He looks like a punk but we knows he's really a stubborn cinnamon roll so everything he attempts only comes back on him. Still the cooking competition and the earbud debacle were so fun and just like the two of them.
The Feels
We meet Kaguya's distant relation, Maki, when she tries to come between two student lovers that Miyuki and Kaguya brought together. It was so heart melting Miyuki's reaction to her... because she reminds him so much of a certain special someone!! And then Kaguya's old flip phone finally takes a dive and she loses all the memories she's recorded in its photo album! This was the cap on the cake that was Kaguya-sama Love Is War vol 10!! We need more of this special student council!!
The Visuals
In Kaguya-sama Love Is War vol 10 the art really shown like a star! I loved how many of the internal thoughts of the characters were played out in the way a frame was drawn. Aka Akasaka really comes into their style in this volume. I loved stalker Kaguya, freaked out Chika, crafty Maki and conflicted Ishigami!! Their faces make the punchline even better!! If you need some light and levity in your life then you need the student council found in Kaguya-sama Love Is War vol 10...
Kaguya-sama Love Is War vol 10 brings together the elite student council as they study, govern and battle it out in love and friendship. Watch as two geniuses fight for their crushes to be the first to declare their love... and watch out because they'll make you roll on the floor laughing!

Thanks to Edelweiss and the publisher for providing me with a copy in exchange for an honest review. It has not influenced my opinions.
Please like this review if you enjoyed it! *bow* *bow* It helps me out a ton!!
Holy shit some of these chapters were hysterical. The one where they all had to cook had me fucking ROLLING at one point. Some great moments, sprinkled with the love connection getting closer and closer, makes me keep coming back.
After watching the anime, which only has 2 seasons, I was left desperately wanting to continue the story through the manga. Alas, I did. This is essentially where season 3 picks up. This is where things are starting to get extremely interesting in the dynamic between Shirogane and Shinomiya. Whilst they are both as egoistic as always, there were some super sweet moments and I can sense that they are becoming much closer, which I theorise to be of focus in the upcoming season. I also thoroughly enjoyed the skits in the midst of the main plotline and I found myself chuckling in public on several occasions. Onto Volume 11!
Somewhere along the way in this series, Kaguya and Shirogane have kind of accepted their feelings for each other. They're still worried about what the other will think if they confess this, but a lot of their trials now involve trying to make the other person think about them or react to them. They still want the other to confess first, but it's clearly because they're too afraid to do it themselves. So far, Kaguya has figured out a trick to make herself not react to Shirogane. And poor Shirogane has to deal with Ai punishing Kaguya through him. There's a few big chapters for Kaguya in this volume. She has to see Shirogane with other girls, she loses her precious photos when she gets a new phone, and we get to see how terrible of a girlfriend she could be regarding boundaries. We also get a fun cooking-competition parody episode in this one—as Chika thinks she's a smart food critic. This is a really fun series. It's nice to see where the characters have gone so far and where they'll be pushed to next.
A review copy was provided by the publisher, VIZ Media, for an honest review. Thank you so, so much!
For a series to maintain consistency for this many volumes is a rare beast and we get some dynamite stories in this one - I literally laughed out loud at the one involving the headphones.
What I really appreciate is how this volume is goofy as hell for the first 80% and then the last story slowly veers into a little drama with a touching message. It’s deft writing and a testament to strength of the author and the characters that they can easily be used for both without missing a beat.
Chapter-wise breakdown slash review of Volume 10 :
Chapter 92: I Want to Make Kaguya Blush - Ohmygod I'm back in my Shirogane-Kaguya phase and this first chapter was so great! I don't know about Kaguya but I definitely blushed.
Chapter 93: Kaguya Wants to Take Him Out - The title is misleading. There is no Shirogane-Kaguya interaction in this one. It's just Kaguya getting worried and angry from the sidelines as Shirogane goes out to a karaoke club. But since our boy is such a bad singer, Kaguya's worries were baseless.
Chapter 94: Kaguya Wants to Interrupt - Ai Hayasaka can be a little mean sometimes. Worrying Kaguya like that? I'd have kicked some ass if it was me instead of Kaguya. At least it's the end of the wretched Mixer Arc
Chapter 95: Miko Iino Wants to Be Soothed - Ahm. Someone please tell Miko her earphones aren't plugged in. I'd be so mortified. Uh uh. I mean. Not that I listen to stuff like Miko does. I- Agh. Moving on...
Chapter 96: Kaguya Wants to Feed Him - Kaguya makes fried rice for our boy Shirogane! Why does everything have to be so convoluted and complex in this story though? Agh! I did NOT like the ending.
Chapter 97: Nagisa Kashiwagi Wants to Put Him to Death - Nagisa, I'll put YOU to death if you steal anymore time away from Shirogane-Kaguya! Filler episodes, I swear.
Chapter 98: Maki Shijo Wants to Do Something, Somehow - I don't like all the Maki and Kaguya comparisons. There's none other like our girl, Shinomiya Kaguya! And bzzzz another filler episode/chapter! All the parallel stories seem to be taking up so much space now.
Chapter 99: Miyuki Shirogane Wants to be Trusted - This had potential. It really did. Sad, it still fell through.
Chapter 100: The Student Council Wants a Photograph - The Cellphone Arc was a good one. I just wanted to hug and console Kaguya when her phone broke and all her stored photos were lost forever. Thank god for backups or I would have been a very sad Kaguya myself countless times in my short life. Haha.
Chapter 101: The Student Council Wants to be Photographed - Our boy Shirogane always comes through when Kaguya really needs him to. That was a genius move, simple but so smart. Exactly like Miyuki Shirogane. A good end to this volume.
But why oh why are there so many parallel stories in this saga now???? I only signed up for Shirogane and Kaguya!!!!!
Book: Kaguya-Sama: Love is War, Vol. 10 Author: Aka Akasaka Rating: 4 Out of 5 Stars
I still haven’t figured out why this series is amusing to me. I do like following these characters around from their day-to-day lives and seeing what they get up to. It doesn’t even bother me that it is taking so long for the main characters to confess their love to each other.
In this one, we follow the same formula that we have been following throughout the entire series. The student council members manage to find themselves in these situations that normally would not be a big deal to certain people, but it is to them. Why? Well, they are very dramatic and sheltered. The number of things that they do not know and get only adds to the book. We follow them as they try to offer romantic advice when hardly any of them have been in any sort of romantic relationship themselves. The upgrading of the phone was probably one of the best arcs I have read in this series. It is these little situations that make the series. Taking everyday life and adding a little bit of humour to it never gets old.
Now, I have been saying that I did enjoy the series more whenever there were fewer characters. However, I am finding that the larger cast is growing on me. I like that they are all finally finding their voices and adding to the story. I still do enjoy the fact that our core group of characters is still the main focus. Having these other characters is finally starting to add to the overall story and help the plot move along.
The artwork, I know I keep saying this in every review I write for this series, helps with the storytelling too. It’s simple, but, yet, works for the story. I am still sort of new to manga (I’ve only read about four or five series) so I am not the best judge for this. I like the way the author draws and presents the story.
Overall, I am still enjoying this series. It has just come to an end, so I may continue once I get past the number of volumes that my library has. It will just take me longer since I will have to track the volumes down.
New obsession, go! 'Kaguya-Sama: Love is War' is a delight - a chaotic rom-com featuring two extremely flawed teenagers engaged in a battle of wits and pride to make each other confess their love. The energy is what will likely rope you in, but its Aka Akasaka's dedication to character that keeps the train rolling - even when it should by all accounts have run out of steam. Everyone in this story is a mess, and I love them for it. Wisely avoiding moulding Kaguya and Miyuki into Light and L-level geniuses, Akasaka instead lets the frayed logic of teenagedom march his story forward, with neuroses and anxiety taking centre stage. Kaguya in particular is a real feat - the typical tsundere ice-queen rendered with real empathy. This isn't a story that's full of unpredictabilities, and it is clearly content to revel in the rhythms and tropes that have come to define modern manga, but it is still a relentlessly good time.
I'm coming to Volume 10 having already watched the finale of Season 3, but it's nice to see that the rapid-fire 'battle' structure of the show is well-suited to the page from where it sprang, giving the Volume a real sense of fullness. A lot of people will highlight the final phone story as the standout sequence, but I found that perhaps a little too sugary and obvious for my own taste. Instead, I'm giving the gold medal to Ai Hayasaka's karaoke chapters. Fujiwara may be fandom's best girl, but I think Hayasaka is the real MVP, and her chemistry with Shirogane is always electric (more so than him and Kaguya, perhaps????)*
Loved this book. The stories in this volume are funny and witty, yet again. I started this series to continue the story left off from the anime.
This time there is focus on some support characters also, which was refreshing.
My fav is the group photo part. We get to see how the council cares for Kaguya, though it may not have seemed so from a distance earlier. Also we see Kaguya in a new light, when we see her feelings (other than her romantic interest in Miyuki) of how she does cherish her high school life, aside from the council work and studies. The group dates game part was hilarious. I didn't know such games existed or the reason they are played.

Kaguya-Sama Love is War , Volume 10 is a return to the light-hearted humor the series is known for after Ishigami’s more serious (for this series) arc. I really enjoy seeing these characters grow both individually and in their relationships with each other. In this volume we get to see a “group date”, a cooking competition, the dramatic love triangle developing (side characters), and of course our favorite student council’s antics. This series is really such a great way to unwind.
first, ilove this series not just becoz he recommended it but it finally became my salve and healthy outlet when it comes to my sometimes overwhelming crush towards him.
second, igot to watch this on December 30-31, the last 2days of 2022 and it made me rest and relax from all the Xmas holidaze and recharge and prepare me as I move on to the new challenges that await the new year, 2023.
lastly, the series itself is smartly written and relatable. The eavesdropping, very slight stalking on your crush
Competitive cooking? Trying to win someone love? Listening to music out loud (vice with ear buds fully plugged in)? More love counseling? These are just some of the situations that befall the student council in this latest volume of Kaguya-sama: Love is War! This volume continues a great stretch of slice of life type situations mixed with the strong personalities of the cast of this book. Aka Akasaka delivers another fun book that truly entertains and is a page turner.
Kaguya's conceal-don't-feel strategy continues to work, as Shirogane tries to get any reaction from her in the hopes that she has feelings for him. But she is in much more turmoil when Hayasaka tries to seduce him through a group date hang, and then a karaoke session. The girls make up, though - acknowledging that only the other truly understands their twisted nature (also I loved that they called each other sisters). But twisted natures are not limited to them alone, as Kashiwagi and her boyfriend run afoul of cheating suspicions - Kashiwagi obviously brings her concerns to Kaguya, but with Ino there they all go zero to 60 pretty fast. Oh, and we get to meet Maki properly - the agent of chaos in that mess, and who, surprise surprise is related to Kaguya!
On the non-twisted side of things, we get to see both Ishigami and Ino embarrassed, as the former tries to save the latter from the reveal of her interesting listening choices to the rest of the Student Council, but also ends up getting caught himself. Folks, I got a lot of secondhand embarrassment from that one - so much that I had to put down the book for a minute because OMG! The group has some fun activities together again, a cooking contest being one and a party game being another. Obviously both Kaguya and Shirogane use these events to suss out the other's feelings, and at this point, I just love these two battling their wits against each other. We are on volume 10 but I'm still like 'nah I don't want these to get together, I still want to see them run around trying to one up each other' because they are so entertaining! What adds more to it is that the rest of the Student Council is onto their feelings, but not their devious gameplay so a lot of confusion makes the way for some well-placed jokes. And, yes, they are all so sweet together as a friend squad too - something that Kaguya sorely needs.
All in all, another highly entertaining and hilarious volume!
Received an advance reader copy in exchange for a fair review from Viz Media LLC, via Edelweiss.
This was so sweet. The student council taking a group photo and sharing the photos they have taken throughout the year after Kaguya's phone broke and she lost her photos just warmed my heart
It's hilarious and misunderstanding for Miyuki and Kagura's game to make other to confess their love first and other challenges in their high school and the student body. It focused on making a girl blush to show their love, group dates, cheating, fried rice contest, and ten yen coin game.
There are moments when the tension of the 'war' is eased and the two protagonists let their hair down a little. The chapter about the broken phone was a nice touch, as was the one about the game with the coins, as well as the one about Kaguya's distant relative.
