One day. Five couples. The most anticipated wedding in the world.
But this story’s not about the bride and groom, the dukes and duchesses, this story is about the palace maid with a heart of gold, the milliner who dreams of seeing her designs adorn the pews, the American bodyguard who learns some British charm, the paparazzo after that one great shot, and the ordinary girl who dreams of being a princess.
Rumors of a missing bride threaten to ruin the day, but nothing can stop the romance running rampant on the streets of London the day before the royal wedding.
Megan Frampton's love affair with books began when her parents moved her to a remote town in New Hampshire where there was only one television station. And then the TV broke. She devoured every book of fiction in her well-read parents' library, finding special joy in Georgette Heyer and the fairy tales collected and translated by Andrew Lang. Megan majored in English literature at Barnard College and worked in the music industry for fifteen years. She lives in Brooklyn, New York, with her husband (her former intern) and her kid.
3.5 stars. Totally light and frothy, with several interconnected short stories with recurring characters. There's a couple per story who need to find their way together, and it was amusing watching them get there.
This was a fun in between series which kept me reading and I absolutely devoured in one sitting. I probably have forgotten this in a year but it was still a fun read.
Very cute, light and fluffy. I'm not generally a romance listener but I do love Serial Box so I was willing to give this one a shot. It ended up being charming and entertaining. I wasn't sure after the first episode but I eventually found myself quite involved. I especially enjoyed Episode 3: The Milliners and Episode 5: The Butler and the Bodyguard which was a delightful MM romance. Each story was connected in some way to the next and they all came together in the final episode. I wasn't surprised that everyone got a happy ending, I think that is kind of the point of books like this. It's all warm fuzzies which is sometimes exactly what we need.
This was a Serial Box title which I listened to in audio and it had multiple narrators, music, and sound effects. I always enjoy this type of immersive story!
Cute light and fluffy romances. I enjoyed the diversity with many of the couples having different ethnicities as well as the inclusion of a same sex romance. The female narrator's Minnesota accent was really jarring. It sounded more like a Bronx accent or the actress from the Nanny tv show. Besides that I enjoyed going back and forth from a male to female narrator as the story switched perspectives. It was really cute how the stories all wove together and you would see the same scenes from different perspectives. It is definitely worth the listen.
What a perfect book for Serial Box to do! It's great, because the multitude of writers get to tell their own story and loosely quilt it into a larger story ARC! So basically you get 5 sweet HEA's, all happening around a single day, and centered around the same event ...
I also found that narrators worked well with each other. They had both nailed the playful vibe, and, the dreamy vibe as well!
So if you're looking for a light hearted fairytale romance/romances grab this novel, and you'll be in for a treat!
A fun romance novel that takes place the day before and the day of a royal wedding. This book uses Megan and Harry's wedding as an inspiration for the fictional wedding set in England. I enjoyed the relaxed and comfortable feeling of this story and the relationships described in this book. A great read for a cold or rainy day.
Onderhoudende set verhalen die zich rond dezelfde gebeurtenis afspelen. Uiteindelijk komt alles aan het eind bij elkaar. Het ene verhaal is leuker en interessanter dan het andere. Las het overigens in het Nederlands.
3.5 stars. I devoured this in a day. Just so much fun! I wish I'd had a little more time to read as a serial, but I got it for free from Serial Box for 4 days and read other things during most of that time.... but what a trip!! I love the different perspectives, and what a lovely romance.
