Addilyn Stratten doesn't know how, or who, murdered her sister until she starts digging into the history of the house her sister was murdered in. The more she digs into the house, the more she senses the need to flee as far as she can get.
Detective Eddie Kline is there every step of the way, providing the common sense that a person killed her sister, not the house.
But as each minute ticks by, Addy fears the house is at the root of it all. Each time she hears those horrifying words, she wants to run away. Who keeps whispering, Follow Me, Sweet Darling?
*Note: This is not a romance. This is a standalone short story. This isn't part of a series. Enjoy a spine-tingling short story that will keep you turning the pages until the end.

Honestly, I love anything that has to do with romance. As long as there's a happy ending, I'm a happy camper. And insta-love…yes, please! I love baseball (Go Twins!) and creating awesome crafts. So, one morning, Addilyn wakes up from the phone ringing. It is her mother. As usual, she wants to know when she is going to get married.
Then she informs her that her sister died...five days ago!
Since the funeral is over, Addy agrees to clean out her sister’s house. Before she hangs up the phone, her mother asks her “Why can’t you be more like your sister?!”
Addy gets weird vibes from the house. She hears ghostly whispering. Drawers keep opening after she closes them. The basement gives her the creeps, and she could swear she saw the walls in her sister’s room splattered with blood.
This story scared the **** out of me! That's good writing. I experienced genuine fear along with the main character. Every time she screamed, I wanted to scream. She was much braver than I could ever be. I like when the main character did her own research which provided additional chilling details to the story. The way it ended was something I didn't see coming. If you like horror and suspense, this is a great story. I still have the shivers!
Too scary! Fast moving and suspense filled I could only read this short story during the day. Addy travels to her sister's home when she finds out that her sister was murdered. There she meets the detective Eddie. As she desperately tries to deal with all the strange things happening in the house and the history she discovers about the house, the detective tries to help her see reason. I loved the story right up to the end. It isn't that I didn't like the end. It is a good ending but, I don't know what to do with all these feelings the author built up in me. If you enjoy scary and suspense you will enjoy this book!
Delightfully spooky and creepy, and had the best ending I've read in a book in ages!! Seriously I am an end of a book kind of girl, I actually read the end first, and this ending did not disappoint at all!!
This was the kind of 'ghost' story I enjoy. Creepy, atmospheric, and unsettling, without resorting to jump scares or horrific details of violence. This is very well written and just long enough for an evening read. Those who scare easily might want to wait for a safe sunny day, but for those who enjoy a good scare, save this one for a dark & stormy night when you're all alone and bound to hear a few things going bump.
This was an excellent, suspenseful, and creepy short story about Addy Stratten who is staying in the house where her sister was murdered, and begins to think that there is something sinister going on within the house. This book had me on the edge of my seat until the very end. Highly recommend!
A random find for sure and it fits the season, so why not?
There is something wrong with this house. Not very long after Addy's sister buys this house she is murdered. Addy starts digging into the history of the house and she finds there is something sinister. Detective Eddie Kline is the "common sense" that is helping Addy. Things happen and now what is Addy to do?
Oh boy. This was a fun one. I had no idea what to expect. Whenever I had an idea, I was wrong. The ending especially got me. I didn't see that twist at the end there!
I have a love-hate with the ending...it was a good twist...but...it left like a cliff-hanger. I wanted more of a resolution. What happens next? Frustrating.
I liked Addy, but I didn't like the mom. She was...something special.
In the end, this was pretty good for a short story. The ending had a good twist, but I wanted more of an explanation or more of a conclusion. I'll give this 3 stars.
Follow Me, Sweet Darling by Amanda Siegrist is a spooky paranormal short story about a woman named Addy trying to figure out how her sister was murdered. The moment Addy arrived at her sister's home she felt an uneasy feeling. Her sister was murdered in the home with no suspects and no real information to go on. Her suspicions about this creepy house only grows the longer she stays.
If you're into paranormal stories and need a quick read, then this one's for you. It has plenty of paranormal elements, the writing is done well, fast paced and the "why would you go down to the basement" feeling.
It checked the boxes for hallucinations, hearing creepy voices, hot detective and a typical horror book basement! It did leave you wanting more especially with other characters that were introduced. But the book was entertaining!
This was a super fun, scary, quick read. Addilyn drove me nuts with some of the brushing off of odd happenings, which is exactly what you expect from a horror book. It's very reminiscent of old horror movies. Then when she finally started to catch on that something more was up, Siegrist threw in an unexpected loop. This was such a great read, well-written, and definitely filled with spine-tingling moments.
Great book for the Halloween season! The author does a fantastic job developing the story as she brings a spooky and suspenseful story that had me glued to the pages right to the end. It's well written with descriptive scenes, moves quickly and smoothly and is a terrific read. Loved it!

Wow, this book kept me guessing right until the end! A quick read, slightly spooky, totally engrossing.

This was a great read for me, even with a few grammatical issues. I thought I had it figured out, but the ending was still a little bit of a surprise with the paranormal twist. Kept me engaged all the way through.
Wow! This book was scary and full of suspense. Had me sitting on the edge of my seat and biting my fingernails. The ending to this book had me very shocked!! Highly recommend. Great shop again Amanda, love your books.
I absolutely loved this book. It kept me on edge wondering what was going to happen. It left me wanting more. I was surprised at the end and didn't see it coming.
I didn't read anything about this prior to just reading it. If you like scary suspenseful mystery type books this is the one for you. I loved every minute of it!
