Cris Sanchez prefers to admire Daveigh Cavanaugh from afar. He’s a widower with a young son. She’s the boss’s daughter. The eight years that separate their age—and the exact time that Daveigh has been away for college and veterinary school—should have sealed their fate. Instead, Cris’s dedication to the family business and Daveigh’s love of animals has drawn them close. Now the pair must contend with the impending loss of a confidant they've shared for close
to a decade.

Daveigh has returned to Kingsbrier harboring a secret, but none that cuts as deep as the one Cris has held onto. After allowing herself time to heal, will Daveigh find strength in their friendship to return to her studies? Or will she settle for half her dreams for the chance to be with the man she’s always loved? After admitting to his responsibility in his wife’s death, can Cris relinquish the past that haunts him? Or will he and Daveigh continue down separate paths?

Nice, nice, nice. Yes, yes, yes. Perfect, perfect, perfect! Those are my feelings on this book. Daveigh and Cris become a fabulous couple but this book contains so much more than that! I loved the multiple POV and hearing about the quints entering the world. Getting more backstory on both Daveigh and Cris was just what I needed to really cheer them on. Cris is a perfect anti-hero, right up my alley and he and Daveigh are soooo great together. IT just takes them a little while to get them. You'll see. You'll love it too, just like me. Try to read as many of the prior books as you can because the more you read, the better your understanding of all things Kingsbriar.

Cris is a single father with a painful past and way too much guilt to allow Davleigh in his life especially since she is the boss’s daughter. Davleigh has loved Cris for years but believes that he will never see her as more than a friend. It will take a special friend to allow them to see that what they have in each other is something that is too special to be denied. Davleigh is a woman with hidden depths and was the perfect woman to help Cris heal from his past.

Daveigh really drew me in. I'm a sucker for a good single parent, age difference romance. They typically are really good. This one didn't disappoint. I did feel that Daveigh was much stronger than she got credit for at times. She had an inner strength that I hadn't seen in her other siblings up to this book. She knew years ago that she wanted her father's manager. What she didn't know was that Cris felt the same way.

I mean how well will being love with the boss's daughter who is younger than you go over. Cris certainly had issues that he needed to deal with. I think he would have never manage to get beyond his past had it not been for Daveigh. That strength I mentioned, it is the heart of these siblings even if they don't realize it.

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. This review was originally posted on Wickedly Romance

This is the third book in the series and the only one I've read, the story does have multiple points of view, which in the beginning I did find confusing. The further I got into the book, I got used to it and I really enjoyed it. I felt sorry for Daveigh, I don't think she got the credit she deserved at times, she was stronger than her siblings thought. I was hooked on this story from the first page, we get Daveigh and her siblings entering the world, I knew from then Daveigh would be an interesting character! I loved Cris, he's struggled with his feelings for Daveigh for long time, but once he gives in and goes after her, I fell for him even more! There are some heart warming moments and also others that will leave you reaching for the tissues. I wish I had read the previous books, but I'm off to rectify that now! A thoroughly enjoyable read, I can't wait for the next book in this series.

Daveigh is the heart of the quintuplets, she loves hard and even though she is seemed as the naive girl, that couldn't be further from the truth. She is strong and defiant though and once she sets her mind on something that is all she wrote. She set her eyes on her father's manager years ago and little did she know that it was reciprocated. I loved reading about this amazing woman and how she constantly worked to not be the quintuplet that her siblings set her out to be. We also get more from the other quintuplets, growing on Eric and Briar's relationships too.

I strongly recommend reading the other books in the series because if you do not you will miss key parts that will make more sense as the books go forward.

Continuation of the soap opera style family drama. Need to be read in order.
Still with a lot of typos and some pretty funny errors with homophones...
I actually thought this installment was a solid improvement on the last book. Pieces came together more smoothly and the problems the characters faced seemed more realistic. The two main characters and their slow burn romance have been part of the previous two books so it was satisfying to see them sort out their issues.
Violence. Sex. Swearing. Themes of assault, injury, euthanasia and end-of-life situations, grief, PTSD, trauma, miscarriage

Wow, what a story. It's nice to see Daveigh get her hearts content. I cried a lot in this book.

Daveigh had been through so much, but Cris really helps with this.

To find out everything about Cris made me cry.

I loved Daveigh and Cris together, might of took ages to get together. But you could see their love for each other.

I highly recommend this book.

This review is also posted on Pretty Little Book Blog.

From the very first page this book sucked me in, the story of all the siblings coming into the world was adorable and gave a nice intro to the story. Then we fast forward and Daveigh is older and in a tough situation. It's one thing to have bad luck with men but when we first meet her grown up self Daveigh is above and beyond that. My heart really went out for her right then.

We begin to get a real sense of the larger family dynamic when the rest of the siblings begin popping up and that gives us this vibrant rich picture of the people surrounding Daveigh. Not just the family but her friends as well. During the course of the early chapters we also bring to learn more about Cris and his life before beginning work at Kingsbriar and his story is pretty intense but it definitely gives him a solid hero rating in my book.

This isn't quite your typical run of the mill romance story and that is what really drew me into it. Any woman coming from a large family will completely understand where Daveigh is coming from haha, and Cris is a hero that while *shocker* he has imperfections he is perfect for the heroine and that my friends is what love is all about! So it's a bold choice on Jody's part but I think it really paid off.

Story wise it doesn't get much better! There are some editing issues but as I've read the ARC they may be all edited out now. But it doesn't take away from the flow of the story for me, but I figured I would make note of it since I do know some people will DNF a book over that (strange I know! If I can follow along with the story despite some nitpicky editing glitches it will never effect my rating of the book.) all in all I know I will be going back and catching up on this series and seeing what the quints are all up to.

This was the best one yet...I say that each time I read the next Kingsbrier Quints book. But seriously, this series get's better and better. It has to be one of my favorite series to date as the author does a great job intertwining previous character's lives into the current character focus. Daviegh is brilliant and naïve. It was so much fun watching her question and then ultimately find her purpose in love and life. I can't wait for the next one in the series!

Daveigh is coming home with a horrible secret. She has been loving Cris from afar between being his dear friend and throwing fits. She also loves his son. She has a gigantic chip on her shoulder. Cris knows she is his friend and his boss’ daughter and he is nowhere near good enough for her with his age and baggage. Told from many points of view and many other stories are told.

This was a great story packed with all the feels. It took me a while to get used to all of the different viewpoints of the story, and I wish it would've strictly come from just Daveigh and Cris. Cris is perfect!! This was a great read, and I look forward to reading more from this author.

A great addition to the series!

Awesome storyline and engaging. I was so surprised that I was at the end, it's captivating and I feel like I'm in Texas at the Kingbrier's.

This is the third book in the Kingsbrier Quints series. It focuses on Daveigh Cavanaugh and Cris Sanchez, although intermixed in the story are glimpses into the lives of the other siblings. This is nice, as it gives the feeling the reader is catching up with old friends in each chapter. Daveigh, who had been away at veterinary school, is coming home. Her family thinks she will be staying forever, but Daveigh isn't so sure. Cris, a widower and the right-hand man for the Cavanaugh family, has watched Daveigh blossom over the last few years and is finding it harder and harder to keep his feelings for her to himself. As Cris comes to terms with his past and works to get over his guilt with his wife's death, they both draw closer together as a horse they both love is ill.

I think my favorite part was when Daveigh realized just how much she truly loved Cris' son, Mateo. The ties that bind a family aren't always in blood, but in the relationships you form with those around you. This was a great read. Although book 3 in the series, it's not necessary that you read the first two first, but I do recommend it.

I won't spoil the plot for you. I'll just say my heart was aching for Daveigh. I was rooting for good things to come her way. For Chris too.
You know an author is good when her characters seem so real. Jody achieves that in her books.

What an emotional rollercoaster this third book in the Kingsbrier Quintuplets has been

Loved seeing Cris and Daveigh finally coming together after 8 years of misunderstandings.

Thought the history of Cris’s first marriage was beautifully handled and really added to the story

And of course wouldn’t be complete without the snap shots into how the rest of the family is doing. Can’t wait to read the next instalment

Update 24/09/2020

Have just re-read Daveigh & Miss Cavanaugh for at least the 3rd time and continue to be amazed at the the depth and complexity of the back story.
Can feel my heart pounding in my chest like I’ve just finished a race and my body has had a full work out. I’ve wept in sorrow, cried with joy, laughed out loud and stayed upto ridiculous o’clock to read just one more page before I must get some sleep before work tomorrow .... err later this morning ! An absolute joy to read. Left wanting more. Just reloaded the remainder of the Kingsbrier Quintuplets series plus the Lecacys.

Guess I know what I’m reading for the next little while. Lucky me ;). Ooh and Shred of Decency from the Shattered Hearts series has arrived too. So much to read. So little time. Is it weekend yet?
Highly recommend this author if you haven’t tried yet

The reader meets Daviegh in both of the previous Kingsbrier books. She is the good girl, the sweet and innocent sibling that all the other siblings try to protect. But, as we get a glimpse of in the other books, she is so much more than that. I think she is my favorite quint - I think it is because I can relate to her on a few different levels. After meeting her in the other books, I enjoyed finally getting to hear more of her story.
