Inscribed by author "for Bevington (Reed) - who introduced me to Texas and Texans, and so must share the guilt." Biography of John Salmon Ford a prominent Texan in mid to late 19th century. He had been a physician, state senator, mayor and city marshal of Austin, Ranger captain, Mexican revolutionary general and Colonel in the Confederate Army among other things. Pictorial dust jacket Has some edgewear, particularly at head of spine, where there is some chipping and a small tear. Some staining on rear, a very small tear and bottom corner is crease. Jacket has lists of other western books offered by this press on the reverse. Green cloth is clean. Slight rubbing to head and tail of spine, lower corner is slightly bumped. Gold title on black background on spine, revolver on cover. Some foxing on page edges. Interior is clean. 300p. including index.
