Destiny is bogus and fate is fake. Everything happens for a reason? Whatever. I gave up on my fairy tale years ago.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not settling for less. All my energy gets poured into a job I love rather than dead end relationships. Men aren't even a blip on my radar these days. Who needs them? Except to scratch the occasional itch, I'm not interested in anything they have to offer.
If so-called Cupid ever comes knocking on my door, I'll be waiting with my flying pig because happily ever after doesn't exist. I've become a jaded disbeliever and my main reason just sauntered into the bar. Rowen Sworr is the only arrow that pierced my heart, and dammit, he stuck.
His random reappearance is a complicated twist from that meddling matchmaker I didn't see coming...

This book is insta-love to the max and it was all a little too much for me. I couldn't get on board with the fact that it was only page one and these characters were already in a love-haze. The first meeting between them was insane to me and it disconnected me from their characters. They had one interaction that wasn't even that long and where they barely spoke to one another yet somehow they were meant to be? Sorry just not for me.
I pushed on and hoped that when the time skipped to the present that it would be better for me. I was wrong.
We move on to the present and Lark and Rowen happen to meet up again after so many years apart. Mind you, this is after only one interaction together in the past. Yet apparently that one conversation was just so spectacular and riveting that it affected Lark when Rowen walked away and to this day hurts her. Again, sorry not for me.
Is she happy that she's found this man she felt so much for again? Nope. She's angry at him and comes up with a great plan of revenge. Revenge for what? I just didn't get it, any of it. I didn't get the insta-love connection, or the anger from Lark, or when they were back together. It all felt too rushed and jumbled and I just couldn't understand.
I really wanted to like this story because the premise had me intrigued and I was interested in reading a new author. Sadly it didn't work out for me but I would still recommend it for anyone that likes a insta-love story. It was well written and I think many readers will find it captivating so give it a try.

Silk-wrapped Candy You know those little pieces of candy you try not to buy at the store? The ones that are hard and oh-so-deliciously sweet and once you bite into them they're an explosion of liquid flavor and you crave them all at once? That's Forget You Not.
Already on page one, we're thrown smack into plain action. We're voyeurs to an insta-love that can only be rivaled by Romeo and Juliet, because—whoa, chemistry anyone?
Lark is forever branded by that first meeting with Rowen, and her way of dealing with his disappearance is completely realistic. She's a passionate woman who needs to channel her desires at the same time as she's protecting her heart.
What happens when the man who broke Lark's heart barges in again, when he's wiser, hotter, and more deliciously alpha than ever?
Lark knows what she wants, though. "Who do you think you are, Rowen? You can't just waltz into my life and start barking orders."
Rowen has work cut out for him. "This woman causes possessiveness like I've never felt before thunder through me."
If you're in the market for a book with strong emotions, hot encounters, and forever-love to last for miles, I recommend Forget You Not. It will be your bag of hard-soft candy to keep devouring until the whole bag is gone.
This is going down as one of my most favorite books ever! Let me tell you this couple is one of the most beautiful stories I have EVER read! Their is only a handful of couples I read that stay with me and leave a major impact and Rowen and Lark are one of the most dynamic and passionate couples I have read about! Rowen...just swoon!!! I loved his determination to prove his feelings for Lark, it was a battle but he never let his feelings slip. It only got stronger. He was such a genuine, fantastic guy with a fierce alpha side! Lark...I can very much relate to her and her feelings, I wanted to shake her at times BUT I knew she had a major guard around her heart. I laughed, I cried and I completely swooned over Mr. Sworr! This book will have you believing in fate and destiny, it truly is one of the BEST reads I've read and Harloe Rae is a definite author to read! She is so talented and pours her heart into this book and you can definitely feel it! This book will have you feeling MAJOR feels! 10 STARS!!!
Holy shit the heroine of this one is a god awful grade A bitch. I seriously want to throat punch her every time she opens her mouth. She is literally unable to have a conversation with ANYONE (her friends included) without being a cunt...
Forget You Not is a second chance romance starring one sassy yet insecure Lark and one impossibly charming army veteran Rowen. They met many and many moons ago and while their connection was instant, destiny kept them apart.
I circle back to how dumb it was to gauge Rowen as the ideal man that day. We hardly spoke a word to each other yet I placed him on a pedestal. Our souls bonding. His gaze reflecting the future. My one and only. Barf. How ridiculous.
Now, seven years later, they are thrown together and well, sparks will fly.
Lark was an interesting character. She's sassy, witty, and yet vulnerable. What happened with Row shaped her in the person she is now, and made her stop believing in destiny and soulmates. You could say she's rather disheartened. I liked how she still hesitated even when they were together. How she wasn't immediately all in.
Rowen instead never had a doubt. He was all in since the first moment they laid eyes on each other. Theirs is the insta-love kind of romance, and if for other couples it would seem weird, for them it actually worked. Rowen is also the main chaser in the relationship and I adored how, when at the beginning Lark was only gunning for a hot night to get back at him, he wanted to wine and dine her and treat her like a queen. The adoration this guy has for her is boundless.
"Go to dinner with me?" "How about we go to my place instead?" Her response is instant, as tough she was anticipating my request. "Nah. Let me take you out, sweetheart."
Another bonus was having some Xander and Willow's scenes. They are the characters from the first instalment and in this one we get to see their happily ever after. Also, I'm now convinced I'll have to ask the author to plan my wedding, because... swoon.
"Row, I've wanted to marry that girl since I was thirteen. I'm ashamed it took me so long, and we wasted years, but whatever. She's mine now and that's what matters."
Even though I liked the first book, I have to admit that Lark and Rowen are definitely my favorite. Their story is less desperate but more relatable, and I have a soft spot for sassy women and alpha men who worship them.
"Ill take care of you and will handle all your needs from now on. No more other guys. No more dates. No more hook-ups. You need to feel good or want some attention, call me and I'll be there. All you need is to let you guard down and give me a chance."
This one was not for me. I tried to get into it and even skipped a chapter to see if it got better. It was too fast paced for me and I did not like the heroine at all. I will not be finishing this book.

“Vix, you don’t understand yet one day it will be crystal clear. There is nothing to claim because you’re already mine. You’ve always been mine.”
Once upon a time Lark believed in the happily ever after, the love at first sight and finding her Prince Charming. All that changed the moment she realized her chance with Prince Charming just up and disappeared with no warning. After several failed relationships Lark is convinced she only needs men to scratch the occasional itch otherwise they're no good in her life. Rowen on the other hand still believes in the happily ever after and after seven years of absence and a chance encounter he is willing to do whatever it takes to win over Lark's heart and prove that they are sole mates.
If you read Harloe Rae’s debut novel Redefining Us you’re in luck because there a plenty of Xander and Willow sightings in this book. I was a huge fan of the first book so I loved the chance to catch up with where they are now. Forget You Not is the type of book where the guy truly is perfect saying all the right things at the right time. Rowen has spent the last 7 years knowing that he wanted to settle down and spend his life with his one true love. When he see’s Lark again it becomes his mission with some help from Willow to show Lark how amazing true love can be.
This book was a really sweet story focusing on the happily ever after with very low angst. If you’re looking for the type of book to swoon over and wish you could find a guy like that, than this book is for you! I can’t wait to see what Harloe has next for us because I will certainly be reading it.
“Your heart isn’t empty anymore. I want to fill it forever, with all my love. With everything I have to give.”
I have never written a bad review, but I simply cannot understand how anyone can connect to this ridiculous story and find this bunny boiler mentality romantic.
The heroine is a nutcase, she's supposedly this incredible woman with an "expensive psychology degree" but is acting like a toddler that hasn't had a nap. I wanted to reach into the book and bitch slap her.
The hero is ridiculous, anyone who tells a woman that they are their soulmate within the first 2 minutes of meeting someone sets off the psycho alarm bells.
Honestly after reading 11% of this book, I felt like stabbing myself in the eye with a fork would have been less painful.
If you’re a fan of insta-love, then this is THE book for you. I'm not one to give all the details of the book away in a review, but I'll say this. Lark and Rowen will melt your heart from page one and turn you into one pile of hot and gooey caramel. This book is off the charts steamy and Rowen is now the owner of my heart. Harloe Rae wove a story with the perfect blend of characters, swoon-worthy love, and the perfect HEA in this one. I was beyond thrilled to see Willow and Xander again—from her first novel, Redefining Us. And if you haven’t read that book, grab that one because it’s a 5 Star read too.
I was lucky enough to get an early copy of Forget you not ...and let me say I loved Rowen and Lark as much as I loved Xander and Willow from Redefining Us. This is only the second book written by the very talented Harloe Rae and i would not change one thing ...Lark and Rowens story begins when Rowen happens to stop at a local diner called Brack's Box where the beautiful Lark happens to work at. The moment they see each other they know this is the person who I am meant to be with forever..But of course life happens and there story was not that simple. But if Harloe let there love story be that simple, then we would have missed out on her amazing writing to get two people destined to be together, finally get together.... In Forget you Not Xander and Willow will be in this book. Xander and Willow are friends with both Rowen and Lark, yet they have never met each other, other then the day in the diner years before.. If you have not read Redefining Us grab it NOW..I promise you, you won't be disappointed. When Forget you not is released grab it.
DNF. This did not work for me. I started this one and the flow of the story did not grab me. Dual POVs. The heroine met the hero for a brief "moment" and was just wowed by him. So much that 7 years later she was still thinking about him. She was a waitress and seated the hero at a table. Told him she would be back and 30 minutes later he was gone. Seven years later, she sees him at her friend's party, but acts like she does not remember him. From the hero's POV, I felt that he was like "oh there is that girl from that restaurant years ago." The heroine was affected by their initial meeting more than the hero was. That is my opinion.
I did not feel the connection. The heroine did have "daddy issues" like she says over and over in the beginning of the book. You may love it. This is my opinion. Reading is subjective.
Forget You Not starts out with the bang, the chemistry between the two main characters igniting from the moment of impact.
These two characters, while enjoyable, overall lacked the depth that I like in the protagonists of a story. The hero, Row, is perfect. He says and does the right things, and he is searching for the long term commitment. I'm not sure there is one negative aspect I could say about him, although there were areas that could have been developed to add complexity to his character. Lark is a heroine who has more complexity than the hero, but the underdeveloped background makes her seem more like a detached jerk versus a woman damaged by her past. I did like her overall, and her background is justification for her behavior. I just feel that I would have connected more with her had her background been more detailed or explained.
This story is filled with passion and emotion. It radiates from the characters, everything from hate to lust to passion. These characters feel intensely, and the author does a good job conveying their feelings. While the conflict is a good one, I wish it would have ties more to the characters and what has been their hangups throughout the novel. It is resolved very quickly, and while the resolution is heart warming and beautiful, it came quickly.
While the story line and characters felt like it needed more depth, I did enjoy the writing style of the author, and I wild absolutely pick up another book by her. If you are someone that loves quick reads and lusty romances, then this one is for you. ------ ARC received in exchange for an honest review.
“My heart pounds a rhythm I’ve never known before because it’s beating along with yours"
I love these kind of books. Girl meets Boy, sparks fly but fates conspire to keep them apart. The books that make you believe in destiny and soul mates. Harloe Rae more than does this trope justice. Beautifully written, this book sucked me in from the prologue. Lark isn't always the easiest character to like, writing a hard headed woman is not for the faint of heart author, but by the end I utterly loved her. Shes the kind of heroine we can all see a bit of ourselves in. She has her flaws but underneath it all is a burning desire to find love.
Now, Row. Rowan. What a man *sigh*. He's the A-type book boyfriend for me. Perfect blend of tender and caring, but not a push over.
Together these two are pure fire in and out of the bedroom.
There are plenty of twists and turns to keep those pages pages flipping.
Harloe Rae is quickly cementing herself on to my auto one click author list.
Where do I even start? Forget You Not will make you fall in love with love again. Second chance romance is my go to trope and Harloe outdid herself with her second book. I was so ready to read Lark's story and loved her since I read Redefining Us. I loved revisiting Wills and X!!! They are a huge part of this book and I was glad they did not just make an appearance and then sneak away. I also read this one book recently titled "Fight" by another wonderful author J.L. Davis. I love how these two authors intertwined their book worlds and their characters. It just makes these books that much better!!
Watch out X, my heart fluttered for Rowen and his determined mind. I was sad to read about his and Lark's first encounter and had asked the same question, WHY? I love a man that does not back down from hard headed fiery independent woman. Rowen had everything to prove that he did not just leave her. Fate had other ideas for these two. Lark protects her most precious jewel, her heart. Slowly she starts to feel again. It was an amazing feeling you get when you read how these two transform into something more. Lark has some demons to fight with insecurities. My favorite part of this book? At the most vulnerable time when Lark allows herself to let go, Rowen comes back for her.
I love Harloe's writing. I love the words she gives us. She gives you something that not all authors will give you and that is heart! She pours her soul into these characters. You feel what they feel. You cry when they cry. You laugh when they laugh. You love when the love hard. Forget you Not is sexy, thrilling, heart pounding, and down right exhilarating all wrapped in one. Believe me folks, this is one book you do not want to miss out on!!
Forget You Not was not only a fast read but such a fun read! Not to mention the steam factor that is introduced. From the beginning I knew that I would love Lark and Rowan.
Unlike some romance novels this books isn't all gold that glitters. There is some struggle, there is some oh-how-sweet moments, and some super sexy scenes that just might make your mama blush!
Harloe absolutely knew what she was doing when she wrote this book! It was so captivating from the beginning all the way to the end! I cannot wait to see what else she has in store for this series!

5AMAZING STARS! Loved every minute of this story, couldn't put it down! Forget You Not had my heart in a flutter, l was so happy that Lark and Rowen's paths had crossed again it is their destiny to be soul mates! Lark is gorgeous, but Rowen still swooning, he is perfect in everyway! Loved getting more of Xander & Willow in this story! Awesome ending! Both these books are a must read, l most definitely will be reading more by Harloe Rae!
Destiny, chance, fate? whatever you call it, cupid struck and there was no escape for lark.
Forget you not is an insta-love romance and second chance romance.
When lark and Rowen first meet at the diner where Lark is working it's love at first sight and Rowen tells lake exactly how he feels and they both feel the chemistry and the connection. Rowen lets Lark know he wants to explore his feelings he is having for her and will wait for her until her shift ends, only when her shift ends Rowen has gone, she waits and waits but never see's Rowen again.
From that brief encounter Lark holds a grudge and for years it effects her life and just that one encounter increased her abandonment issues.
Lark doesn't let any man disappoint her now and she uses them for one thing which is sex.
Lark's character; I found her behaviour odd for a counsellor, someone who supposedly guides people and gives life instruction to circumstances.
When Lark and Rowen see each other again years later at an engagement party they recognise each other instantly but Lark decides to play hard to get and her attitude is one of a woman scorned. I couldn't get my head around Larks attitude and behaviour and her ability to hold a grudge that long over a brief encounter.
Lark's character wasn't likeable to me although near the end I did warm to her as Rowen broke down her barriers.
Rowen is a sickly sweet romantic guy and does everything he can to make Lark see he is the man for her and what they felt years ago was the same only circumstance won't stop him this time.
A good story, ideal for a lazy Sunday afternoon with swoon worthy overload coming from Rowen. My first book by this author and there were a lot of interaction with characters from the previous book so it was good reading about those to if you have read the previous book you get more of those characters which I always like in a series if you loved previous characters.
Harloe Rae's writing is easy to follow, the balance to everything was good, hot in all the right places to and told in first person dual pov. I would read other books by this author the story and these characters just wasn't enough for a reader like me who likes angst and drama.
Arc gratefully received by the author for review purposes
One swoon worthy read that will captivate you from page one straight through to the very last word. Will you want more...well of course you will because you will become vested in this couple and will want to follow them throughout their entire lives! The storyline is warm and inviting before it throws cold water on you, only to begin to heat up again until it has reached it's boiling point. The characters are well written and complex, but also so very likable that you wish you were part of their world rather than just reading their story. Rowan is a strong alpha male who has found his soul mate, but loses her just as quickly. But once he finds her again, he pulls out of the stops and romances her as she has never been romanced before. Lark is the beauty who stole his heart when she was just seventeen, he was the one who had her believing in fate, destiny and sole mates within just a few minutes. But he left before they could even begin, tearing her heart into pieces, changing her life and thoughts on happily ever afters forever. After him, her choices and decisions left her with a hardened heart and a wall so high and strong around her heart that he knew he would have his work cut out for him in getting that wall to come down. First, he needed to get her to trust him again. There will be times that you want to head slap her, but give her time.
A beautiful story of true love that not only revolves around Rowan and Lark, but also their friends Xavier and Willow, as their story concludes in this story as well. It is beautifully written and guaranteed to give you a few teary moments, a few laughs, a few causes to fan yourself and many, many moments of breathless...aaawwwwws! I highly recommend this book!!! 20 stars just for the feelings it leaves you with.
I thought this was a sensitively, passionate read, one that dished up one of the best alpha men that I have read this year, Rowen oozed not only everything I could possibly want from a leading man but he did it all with swoon factor that tipped me right over the edge, hands down he was simply the most drool-worthy guy I have read in a long time! But he wasn’t in the story alone, nope his muse, the object of not only his attention but also his affections was the delightful Lark and between them, they were brought to life the most beautiful story (well, I know the author did but you know what I mean!) I was a little frustrated at times with the glorious Lark, she seemed to dig her heels in and I just wanted to look her in the eye and tell her to get with the program because if she didn’t want Rowen I was more than willing to take him off her hands. I adored the way he adored her and that he didn’t give in, in his desire to show her just how much she meant to him. This was like sitting on the shoulder of your bestie watching their world unfold and whooping from that lofty position as they finally get what you have secretly been praying for and for this pair I wanted a future that was worthy of them because not everything would have been, they deserved the best and with Ms Rae at the helm that is exactly what they got. I felt so many emotions as the book unfurled and almost every one of them was euphoric but when it finished…well, I felt lonely, sad to say goodbye. Magnificent work! Very Highly recommended.
I was blown away by this book. This was the perfect introduction to Harloe Rae. The writing was superb, the characters were so real, and the story itself was amazing.
Rowen is the perfect man; sexy, tough, shows emotion when he needs to, and tenacious when going after something (or someone) he wants. He is definitely one of my favorite male leads of the year. Lark is stubborn, independent, and jaded toward love. Yet, deep down she wants that once in a lifetime love that she thought she could have with Rowen.
Rowen and Lark met by chance when they were younger. One look and an instant connection formed between them, but then Rowen disappears without a word. His disappearance, along with circumstances from her past, cause Lark to shut down and give up on relationships and finding true love.
Years later they meet again at a mutual friend’s engagement party. They both pretend that they don’t know one another, but the spark from all those years ago is still there.
Lark is angry and decides she is going to get revenge on Rowen for leaving all those years ago, while Rowen’s goal is to pursue Lark and make her his. Will Rowen be able to break down Lark’s walls and convince her that they were made for each other?
I received an advance reader copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Harloe Rae WAS a new to me author when I started this book but I can promise you that will be quickly changing because just yes! Sexy. Sweet. Everything. Harloe killed it in this standalone book, giving me all of the feels in the best ways.
Forget You Not is the second book in the Reclusive series (interconnected in the series but can be read by itself) and a total major hit with me. I went on quite the emotional roller coaster in this sweet romance...that was packed with a whole lot of heat and heart.
He'll do whatever it takes to prove to her that happy endings do exist... and what they have is worth it.
A little bit of insta-love, a beautiful second chance, explosive chemistry, scorching hot sparks, and a hook-me plot start to finish... yep, Lark and Rowen were completely and undeniably addictive. I got lost between the pages of their journey, coming up for air only when the words stopped. These two, especially Lark.... *sigh* swoon!
Give this book a try then run pick up book one while it's on sale...you better believe I did.
Genre: Romance - Second Chance, Instalove, Soul Mates, Military Stand Alone: Yes Part of a Series: Yes Book 2 of the Reclusive series POV: Lark and Rowan Steam Level: Warm 4/5
Forget You Not is a fun and fast read that includes instalove that goes missing and then reconnects years later and the journey to reconnection. During the missing years Lark has become jaded and hurt by the men she's dated and has sworn off relationships. Rowan has sworn off meaningless hookups and vows that his next relationship will be his last one, his forever one. Sparks fly, wills clash, and battle lines are drawn when these two meet again. Lark was a little dramatic. Rowan was a little caveman. And this book was fantastic. I truly enjoyed reading this book and want to go back and read book one (Willow and Xander whose wedding you see in this one.) You don't need to have read it first, I just really liked Harloe Rae's writing and want to read their journey. I found myself smiling, laughing, and crying throughout. Definitely a great read for fans of second-chance and instalove.
I read an advanced copy of this book. This is my honest and voluntary review.
Holy Harloe!!!! Making a review for amazing books are a big deal, especially if this book owned your heart. I felt like Lark in so many ways that I needed to stop every single chapter, this story is close to home.
Lark has an encounter with real love and soul mate, but as she saw him coming in her life, she saw him leaving her with nothing but a name.
Rowen meet the prettiest girl one day, with one look he knew she was his future, but destiny had some other plans and took him away the chance to find that.
Years didn’t make justice for a broken heart and didn’t help the soul to bound with a match. But life has a funny way to put you in front of the person that will have the powerful to break your heart or save you forever. The only thing is take that jump.
I would love to hug this author and tell her that I hated her for making me cry, this book not only make me cry but swoon over Rowen, this book is why I read romance, why I spend nights awake and reading, making me feel full of love, a connection and an indescribable feeling, this books is the real proof of why I love romance, Rowen is one of my fav heroes, a true love.
I was really captivated by Lark and Rowen's story from the very beginning. I'm a huge fan of insta-love stories so I knew this was going to pull at my heart. I have to say though that I struggled with Lark's character. In fact, I had a hard time even liking her and found her to be almost bratty. I wanted to scream at her and tell her to wake up. That she had something really good right there in front of her. I mean guys like Rowen don't happen often. She did grow on me and over halfway through the story, I did end up giving her a second chance.
Now Rowen, what can I say, this guy was perfection. I liked that he had his head on straight and knew exactly what he wanted. He was patient and willing to do what he had to to win over the love of his life.
This was truly a great story and one that I'd definitely recommend. Harloe Rae has a way of bringing on love in even the toughest of times.
There was just something about this book that called out to me. I have not read a Harloe Rae book before and I'm so glad I stumbled upon this one. While it is part of a series, it was a true standalone. I do want to read Redefining Us and I will be doing that soon. This book had me laughing, crying, swooning, frustrated, and so much more. I loved Harloe's take on insta-love. Usually insta-love books are a bit hokey for me but this book pulled me and had me reading late into the night. This one had meat on it's bones. I'm definitely welcoming the addition Harloe onto my Stalking list after reading this book. It was written beautifully and I loved how the storyline flowed.
Here is the thing, I am so in love with these two. After Xander and Willows story I thought I found a book boyfriend but now I was so off on the choice; I want Rowen. I could not put this book down at all, it followed me into the kitchen while I was fixing supper and when I was finished I was so upset. This book had you believing in the magic and the romance of first gazes and instant connection. Their story grabbed me from the first meeting and tore at every emotion that I know to exist. At times I was yelling, laughing, and even tearing up. My heart is exhausted from all the emotions that were wrenched out of me, but I wouldn't have missed it for anything. Thank you for allowing me to read this and write a honest and unbiased review.
This is my first book by Harloe and it is just fabulous. Lark comes across as a bit of a man eater at the start of this book, seeming to want only one thing from them. But as you read more about her, the way she acts is just a coping mechanism as the most important man in her younger years walked out in her and her mother. Rowan is one of the best male leads I have read in a while. I do like to read about super alpha men, and Rowan does have his alpha moments, but he is really just a beautiful soul who wants to be with the love of his life. I absolutely adored this book and would gladly read more from this author. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book
