Whatever she wants, I want it ten times harder.
My name is Elijah Scott, and I’m going to be your next president. I’m a rich, ripped, and ready to conquer the campaign trail. When it comes to women, I’m not looking for anything serious. Not now, not ever.
Until I see Meredith.
The sweet little blonde with curves in all the right places. One look into those beautiful blue eyes, and I can’t help imagining how her hips would fit just right in my hands.
I’ll never forget the secret she whispers in my ear: she’s never been with anyone before. She’s a temptation I can’t resist.
She’s fresh out of college, just twenty-two years old and on the campaign trail with me… as a reporter. One leak exposed by Meredith, and my entire future goes up in flames.
As my secrets pile up, I can’t stop fantasizing about Meredith. She’s dangerous, a risk I can’t afford… but her taste, her voice moaning my name over and over… I can’t stop. Worse, I don’t want to watch her walk away.
This full length romance features some dirty words, adult situations, and is approximately 60,000 words.
First of all, I am not a fan of the title of the book. This kinda lame title disappoints me. I don't know why I even choose to read this, it was probably out of boredom.
But this book is actually a moderate book. The story was unique, nothing that I thought of. Elija is running for presidency and Meredith is a reporter who is assigned for his campaign. The hidden relationship was cute.
I couldn't finish it. I've now made a New Year's resolution: if I can't connect, I'm not going to force it. I enjoyed the author's writing so I know I'll be reading something else from her when I get the chance, it's just that these characters didn't call to me.

3.5: I liked Meredith and Eli. There were a couple of confusing parts that felt like they really didn’t belong (Mason). Also, we never found out who leaked the story to the press.
I have two major criticisms of this book, each with several sub-criticisms: 1. Consent is practically nonexistent in this book. 2. The inaccuracies of the presidential campaign depicted was incredibly distracting, especially in an election year.
Eli frequently goes continues with intercourse while he is sober and Meridith is drunk. When she is drunk, she *cannot* give consent. This is notable on their first interaction -- the infamous lap dance -- and especially the first time they have sex, which is Meredith's first time having sex ever! If my memory is correct, there are no words spoken between when Meredith bursts into his hotel room drunk and Eli penetrating her. That's not okay! I get that "it's a trope of the genre, you just need to get over it" but also this kind of casual endorsement of sex without consent enables and perpetuates rape culture.
Now for the fun stuff! And by fun stuff I mean the most unrealistic portrayal of a political campaign I have ever seen in my life. First, Eli is 36 and has never held elected office -- how in the world did he get the backing of a major political party? Or did he? His political stance is never mentioned and it's never made clear if he is a Dem/Rep or the most successful third party candidate in US history. Second, why is he only starting to campaign in earnest in May? US presidential campaigns are usually at least eighteen months in the making, not four months. I also don't understand how is running an entire campaign with one employee and a busload of journalists. Are there fifty policy advisors behind the scenes who don't get screen time because they aren't trying to fuck Eli and are just doing their jobs? Unclear.
Apparently, I lied because I actually have a third major criticism of this book. Meredith is the world's worst journalist (and I am including Amber from Netflix's The Christmas Prince in this ranking). Straight out of journalism school she gets to work on a US presidential campaign -- AKA the career opportunity of a lifetime -- and she spends the entire time being like "boo hoo I can't party in Bali". Get it together, girl! And how as a journalism student does she not know what a US presidential nominee looks like? That is too much suspension of disbelief.
Maybe if I were not the political bitch I am I might have enjoyed this more. In a parallel universe where I did not live in and was not traumatized by America, perhaps. The sex-scenes were steamy I guess, if men and a lack of consent are your kind of thing.
This is the 1st book I read by Vivian Wood. The only thing I liked about this story was the hot & steamy scenes. This book's story line could have been better. I think Eli & Meredith acted a little childish. This story was definitely missing passion, chemistry, & romance.
This is the story of Elijah, a presidential candidate and Meredith a reporter who is assigned to his campaign tour. Sparks fly between them but for obvious reasons they need to stay away from each other. The ending was very abrupt.
3.5 Stars Elijah & Mer's story was good but, Ellie & Henry's story would be my favourite of all..For me the love & intensity was more in their story..I liked how Mer doesn't let him take advantage just like that.Gosh that manager of Elijah was such an asshole..she was so jealous. Iiked how he announces for her on the national television. I liked glimpses of Henry & Ellie.
Romance genre: forbidden love Series: His and Hers Length: 210 pages
Plot: Elijah is a presidential candidate who goes to a masquerade party one night, grateful that he can be disguised and have some fun without all eyes on him. Meredith is a young reporter who s at the same party. They make a connection, but then later discover that they know each other professionally: she has been assigned to the press pool that covers his campaign. They can't seem to stay away from each other though, even though there are forces working to keep them apart. Elijah will have to be the one to make a decision though: his political ambition or his love?
Commentary: I liked this story - it was sweet. My complaint is the ending - there were some loose ends, and that's a little irritating. The biggest loose end? Sosie. She had a thing for Elijah, and nothing more was spoken of it, even though she tried to keep Meredith from talking to him by lying to her on the phone. Furthermore, Elijah says he's sure that she was the one who leaked the story to the press, and nothing more was mentioned about that. All of that deserved at least a public humiliation, or an office firing scene, but nothing! Still, it's interesting to imagine what would happen if a serious presidential candidate or president were single and in his prime. How lonely that could be!
I received an Advance Reader Copy for His Virgin written by Vivian Wood and voluntarily reviewed this book. Freshly out of university with a degree in journalism under her belt, Meredith Fields was offered a job with her father back in DC, at one of the largest newspaper companies in the country, which he owns. Meredith meets Elijah Scott when she is assigned to cover his presidential campaign and realizes that nothing is going to be easy about this job, because when they set eyes on each other, it will only be a matter of time. Being the only single presidential candidate, the paps are going to focus on him and everyone he is associated with, so Elijah just wants to make it through the whole process unscathed.
Nice story, glad they have an HEA. To me, Elijah's character seemed a tad little immature for his age (and for someone going to be a president), in his treatment of her, especially with his jealously issues. There also appeared to be a different standard in his relationship with his campaign manager Sosie (Elijah hiring her, knowing her feelings for him, and she being allowed to display her possessiveness) versus his relationship with Meredith, who knew how to deal with the situation, but he was not willing to be with her in public because she was not worth the risk to his campaign.
Eli and Meredith meet at a private, exclusive and anonymous sex party and are attracted to each other. Days later, they met again, until then ignorant who the other is. Too bad that Eli is the presidential candidate and Meredith is the representative of the paternal media company and future journalist, and 13 years younger too. They are obsessed by each others, longing to be with each other and wishing for a relationship. But their love is forbidden by the age gap and the conflict of interests of the campaign. It is pure agony to keep their love a secret.
Reading His Virgin makes you feel the same feelings as the protagonists and sends you on an emotional roller coaster ride. I loved reading it!

His Virgin is funny, angsty, suspenseful, and steamy. Vivian Wood paired an intriguing story with interesting characters for a book that had me hooked from start to end. I highly recommend this book.

One party that brings two people together and leaves them both thinking of each other and what could have been. Meredith Fields is fresh out of university with a degree in Journalism. She is forced to work for her Dad, who runs one of the biggest newspaper companies. Her assignment is to follow the presidential campaign of Elijah Scott. On introduction she knows this is the same man that wore the mask at the party. Elijah pretends he does not know her. However, the attraction for one another is undeniable and one thing leads to another. Can Meredith be his dirty little secret or is that too much to ask for? Elijah is so close to getting what he has always wanted, to be president. Can he let Meredith in or will it be frowned upon, which could have a detrimental outcome for him. What about his campaign manager who has her eyes set on him. Is she the better choice to help his career? I enjoyed most of this story. At times I found that Elijah was a bit weak and was pushed around by his campaign manager. I wanted him to be strong and opinionated. I wanted him to go after what he wanted to show strength in all his decisions. I also at times found him to act immature considering he was 10 years plus older than Meredith. I liked Meredith she stood her ground and was the better person for it. I found the character build-up of her characters was great. The story flowed and had enough climax and angst, which I always enjoy. My only issue was at the end. I wanted a bit more and felt like the last part was a bit rushed. However don’t let this stop you from reading this little gem of a story. There is nothing like a future president with a dirty little secret or two. Hot books and Sassy Girls
I was given a copy of His Virgin and this is my freely given honest review. There are two stories in this book. This first is His Virgin. A story about a 36 year old presidential candidate named Eli. He's former military and his focus has been on achieving his goals since he was 18. He heads to a mysterious party with friends to let off some steam in anonymity where he has an encounter with a hot girl. Enter Meredith, she's just graduating college and will be spending the summer working for her father rather than celebrating with her best friend traveling the world in search of parties. Saying that she is disappointed to be covering a political campaign for her father's publishing empire is putting it mildly until she meets the candidate! These two try everything to keep from getting involved but there is no stopping love. Their story is told from a dual POV and I give it 4 stars. At 50% of the book the next story takes place and it is called Rock Me. It's the story of a shelter young woman named Serena and a famous rock guitarist named Rhys. This story is told entirely from Serena's POV and is a 3 star for me. It's not bad but not great. It was cute but not as complex as the first story. The quick version is girl dumps fiancee for cheating, meets cute guy, cute guy turns out to be rock star, guy asks her to pose as his pretend girlfriend, she gets in fight with friend so she accepts the job, girl and rock star find out that maybe this isn't a pretend relationship after all. This book is definitely worth reading and I will be reading others by Vivian Wood in the future.

A titillating romantic tale that lures the reader from the beginning of the story until the conclusion with the dynamic plot, jealousy, camaraderie, suspense, toe-curling sizzling passionate romance and a superb happy ever after.
Elijah Scott is strikingly handsome, has mesmerizing gray eyes, a hot bod and is on his way to fulfilling his dream to becoming President. Meredith Fields is sassy, highly intelligent, a blonde, blue eye beauty and an untouched maiden. Secrets unfold as the two are thrown together on the Presidential campaign.
Fast-paced wonderfully written story with a cast of praiseworthy characters that spring to life with engaging dialogue and powerful scene descriptions that leave you wanting more. Emotional ups and downs occur, as well as fun times. The relationship of Elijah and Meredith is more than convincing and filled with much devotion and respect. If you treasure fantasy romance this is a great read for your library. I found this to be a most enjoyable read so {I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy.} Without reservations, I recommend this book.
Omg Eli is my new favorite book boyfriend. Omg talk about sexy as sin. Meredith and her best friend Lily are going to a masquerade sex party as their final hurrah after graduation. While at the party she finds herself in a private room with a mysterious stranger who she is instantly drawn to. Fast forward. Merideth's father is offering her a job as a reporter in a presidential campaign. Not too excited about it she agrees and joins Elijah Scott's campaign entourage. When she meets him for the first time she is shocked to look into the eyes of the mysterious stranger from the party. Their attraction to each other is undeniable. Unable to hold back any longer Eli is making a move on Merideth but is freaked out when she tells him she is still a virgin. He is trying to stay away but can't. Eventually he has to admit his feelings and risk the outcome of his campaign. I loved this book. It is so sexy and Eli is just a dream. I was unable to put this book down and devoured it in just a few hours. There is s short follow up story of Eli and Meredith I received through the newsletter which ties the whole story together. Great book!
Everything said was being contradicted by something else that's said Pg. 97 - "I've decided. We're going to get married" a few sentences later " I came here to tell you I don't have plans to marry you" both said by the same guy a few seconds apart. Pg. 140 - talking about his sister "Ellie just turned 26. She was one of the main reasons he'd gone into politics" then a few seconds later "as the ferris wheel moved they talked about her plans after she graduated high school" were these just editing errors? I don't think so because there were sooo many of them. It kept happening a lot. Then they made his sister out to be acting like a 6 year old. There is a difference between being a kid at heart and being free and acting 6.
I don't get the FMC and MMC relationship. It really isn't that great. She was getting mad at him for kissing her but wanting him to kiss her. Like Idk their relati0nship didn't make sense.
The story sucked. It was just like many other's I've read, nothing really going on for the characters and there was no emotions behind anything happening. we are just told what's happening

Though she would prefer a post graduation party summer, she figures a it's to good of a deal to pass up. With sparkles flying between them and secrets being kept around every corner, can these two handle everything life throws at them?
This book was amazing. I love the His And Hers set of books and I found this to be a wonderful start to a wonderful series. I requirement reading them in order, in order to understand the place each person holds. But they can certainly be read in any order and enjoyed all the same. I definitely recommend picking up these books for an enjoyable, fun read.
Vivian Wood does it again with another amazing read this time about a man, Elijah, who is running for President, and the one woman, Meredith, who catches his eye but who may also risk his chances from reaching that goal. She is the young reporter who he met anonymously while at a party and now she is on his campaign trail. Both are having some very steamy dreams about each other and it's only a matter of time before they become a reality. But they have to be careful because if anyone found out it could cost him the election. A great steamy steamy read with a jealous campaign manager who wants Eli, lust that eventually turns out to be love, a misunderstanding that could cause losing each other, a news leak about the two that could cost him his election and a declaration of love that hopefully isn't too late. Once again Vivian Wood delivers a 5 star story that is thorough and complete but wanting more once it's ended. *I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book*
