Souvent, lorsque je poussais la porte menant au toit du vieux bâtiment de l'école, je trouvais Hayakawa en train de fredonner. Si on ne se voyait pratiquement pas en dehors de ce petit paradis isolé, nous n'en étions pas moins amis. Mais un jour, Hayakawa a soudainement cessé de venir sur le toit. Parfois, je me rappelle encore son visage, ce jour où nous nous sommes parlé pour la dernière fois. J'ignore si cest un coup du destin ou une simple coïncidence, mais le temps figé semble à présent s'être remis en marche...
Trois années, c'est long. Nos deux héros ne pourront sans doute pas rattraper le temps perdu mais, peut-être que l'avenir, un avenir où ils seront amenés à se recroiser, leur réserve bien des surprises !

This line was so heart touching!!!! So well said. I loved this book specially because of the dialogues and the illustrations. Man, they are so fab!!!!!

Less drama, more fluff. Also, I love time-skips but I was kinda expecting so much more on the confession.
I thought it was going to be more dramatic of some sort but they just gave in, like in a drop of a hat so I was kinda down on that part, but the events leading to the confession were really too much for my heart that I literally stopped reading to make iced coffee—because I thought it deserved it, an ice coffee moment, but no, it was kind of a downer. Overall, I still like it. This volume feels like an extended conclusion of the angst of the previous volume, or something like "I change my mind, I want them together so I'm writing another volume."
By the way, this is the perfect example of why yaoi is good for the heart. It's just too fluffy! Heh

Tomo perfecto que cierra muy bien esta historia.
Después de tres años sin verse, Ryohei se reencuentra con Shû que a logrado superar sus dolor y su pasado y ha logrado empezar a cumplir su sueño: mostrar al mundo su música junto a su grupo.
Ryohei y Shû deberán poner en orden sus sentimientos ya que, desde el momento en el que Shû se le declaró en el instituto nada fue igual para ninguno de los dos.
En conjunto, toda esta historia es preciosa sobre todo por los temas que trata. La envidia, el dolor que provoca a otros que seas mejor que ellos, sobre los falsos amigo, la autodestrucción, la amistad, el amor y el luchar y perseguir tus sueños. Todo esto junto con una historia de amor bonita que, sí bien hay un momento un poco turbio que podría no haver estado en el tomo 1, eso no le quita calidad a la historia.
Sobre todo porque este tomo es redondo y lleno de muchos feel. Con el aliciente de que nunca había visto tan bien representada una primera relación sexual homosexual que acelera hasta el corazón.
El dibujo, además, es precioso. Muy detallista y super expresivo. Todo esto se suma a la buena edición y traducción de los franceses.
Muy recomendable, la verdad. Uno de mis muchos bl favoritos.

Second and last volume of Depth of Field. The main characters are now university students, they lost contact after highschool but destiny reunites them and now are mature enough to step forward, accept their feelings and have a relationship.
This manga was an angsty yet sweet read, I liked both characters, and found Hayakawa's background interesting. As a yaoi read it has...a more hmm down to earth feel? (Except for that one scene in the beginning, that one has very yaoi logic LOL) I think...like... honestly it's the first time I see characters discuss and be awkward about sex. Found it funny and mildly relatable haha.

If book 1 was good, book 2 was even better. Shuu and Kon-chan meet again, three years later, with Kon-chan working all sorts of jobs in the photography industry. Their reunion is facilitated by Tada-san, Kon-chan's dad's ex-employee, and from there Shuu and Kon-chan feel their way through to a relationship. Ugh, the build up was so good, and Shuu confessing again is one of the sweetest things. Plus Kon-chan's response.
Not a lot of drama, just slice-of-life, with Shuu having moved on from his past trauma - with Kon-chan's previous encouragement in high school as the impetus, maybe? - and finally doing what he loves, and finding friends who love/like doing it with him. Just, really sweet shit.
Also? Kon-chan is such a cool boyf?

This is too short, I want more!
In the second volume, the atmosphere and tension are lighter. The moment when Konno and Hayakawa meet again goes well, and I really like it. Maybe because the first volume had a lot of drama, so in this second volume, everything goes more smoothly without much significant drama.
What makes this volume enjoyable is Konno's drunken antics, haha, it's so funny and kind of scary when you think about it.

I liked the time skip and having the main characters reunite when they were older and more mature. It's also nice to see a bit more with Konno, since he felt so underdeveloped in the first volume. I was also not particularly convinced that the two characters actually liked each other.

Recensione breve: la miniserie mi è piaciuta abbastanza, anche se ci sono state un paio di cose che non mi hanno fatto impazzire. Punto in più anche per il tratto dei disegni, che ho apprezzato particolarmente.
Recensione un tantino più articolata: questa è una miniserie che abbraccia diverse tematiche - dalla necessità di imparare ad accettare se stessi e di inseguire i propri sogni al senso di invidia. I protagonisti di questa storia sono Ryohei e Shuichiro, due liceali che si sono conosciuti sulla terrazza della scuola e che hanno stretto una singolare amicizia. Il primo si è fatto la nomea di essere un tipo un po' difficile da avvicinare, dallo sguardo sempre serio - sguardo che si trasforma completamente quando ha in mano una macchina fotografica. Comunque sia, Ryohei ha una passione che lo anima e ha anche un gruppetto di amici e una famiglia che lo supporta e con cui parlare liberamente del suo amore per la fotografia. Tutte cose che Shu gli invidia, cose che vorrebbe tanto avere anche lui, ma che continuano a eluderlo.
Anche Shu ha, o per meglio dire, aveva una grande passione: la musica. Fin da bambino, adorava comporre motivetti per tutte le persone che gli stavano intorno - una passione che dava sui nervi agli altri bambini. Figlio di due insegnanti di musica, il piccolo Shu vuole solo farsi degli amici e quindi prova con le lezioni di piano - con il suo talento riesce a vincere tutti i concorsi, inimicandosi gli altri studenti -, poi passa alla chitarra, con il sogno di fondare un gruppo con quello che lui considerava il suo migliore amico. Un'amicizia a senso unico, come scoprirà alle medie - un'amicizia di facciata dietro cui si nascondevano invidia, astio e insofferenza (Yamashita, in questo senso, è un personaggio interessante: vittima di una madre per cui contano solo premi e riconoscimenti, rimane al fianco di Shu giusto per poter continuare a suonare il piano a casa di quest'ultimo, continuando a covare del risentimento nei confronti di quel poveraccio...non è mica una colpa avere del talento o crescere in un ambiente che ti permette di coltivare suddetto talento, no?). Scoperta che lo porterà ad abbandonare tutto. La verità è che non ha mai smesso di amare la musica, dopotutto continua a fischiettare sovrappensiero delle nuove melodie. Lo Shu che si trova davanti Ryohei è una persona che si è isolata, che si presenta al mondo con il suo sorriso un po' da stupidotto, che si accontenta del piacere passeggero del sesso occasionale, uno strumento per riempire il vuoto lasciato dalla musica.
Il rapporto tra i due pian piano evolve, il primo a innamorarsi sarà Shu, ma non sarà ricambiato. A quella confessione, seguiranno tre anni di lontanza. Ryohei continua a studiare fotografia e aiuta nello studio del padre, mentre Shu è entrato a far parte di una band indie emergente. Le loro strade si incrociano per caso (il gruppo è alla ricerca di un fotografo) e i due potranno finalmente riavvicinarsi. I sentimenti di Shu non sono mai cambiati; Ryohei, invece, ha riflettuto a lungo e ora si sente pronto per fare un passo in avanti.
Insomma, una storia abbastanza carina, magari non propriamente originale ma comunque interessante. Il piccolo Shu mi ha fatto tanta tenerezza: voleva solo farsi degli amici grazie al suo amore per la musica, ma purtroppo si è sempre ritrovato solo. Ryohei ha avuto il merito di rimetterlo sulla strada giusta, di avergli dato la spinta necessaria per tornare alla sua adorata musica. Una passione che deve far stare bene lui, senza pensare troppo all'opinione altrui.
Punto simpatia per Ryohei che, nel secondo volume, ci regala delle autentiche perle di saggezza 🤣 dopotutto ha ragione, entrare e uscire sono due concetti diversi, no?

Aufmachung
Charaktere, deren Kleidung, sowie Hintergründe sind recht einfach gehalten. Dafür sind sie jedoch unterschiedlich gestaltet. Zudem werden die Emotionen wirklich gut transportiert. Im Gegensatz zum ersten Band ist die Atmosphäre deutlich weniger düster.
Fazit
In Band zwei springen wir drei Jahre in die Zukunft.
Tatsächlich muss ich gestehen, dass mir der zweite Band einen Tick besser gefiel als der erste. Während Hayakawa in Band eins im Fokus stand, betrachtet man hier vorwiegend Kon.
Der Verlauf der Story gefällt mir unfassbar gut, noch immer empfinde ich es als sehr realitätsnah und emotional. Zudem gibt es hier viele wirklich niedliche Momente, die ich sehr mochte. Dennoch ist es nicht leicht in Kons Gefühlswelt zu blicken, weswegen mir am Ende nicht alles klar geworden ist. Doch darüber kann ich locker hinwegsehen, denn dafür bekommt man mit dieser Kurzreihe eine wundervoll berührende Geschichte, die meiner Meinung nach zudem recht realistisch ist.
Ganz sicher habe ich diese Story noch nicht zum letzten Mal gelesen.

È meno cringe del primo, ma si difende bene: fa un paragone tra cacca e cazzo che è chef kiss, sto ridendo da un’ora. Purtroppo la trama non esiste e i dialoghi sono imbarazzanti quando va bene e distruggono tutta la tua idea di relazione se ti va male.
Ho letto questo volume per completare l’esperienza ultraterrena iniziata col primo volume e sono felice di poter chiudere finalmente questa storia.
Purtroppo ho dovuto dare 1 stella anziché 2 come nel primo perché konno si è tagliato i capelli e ho capito che i suoi capelli lunghi erano letteralmente l’unico motivo perché mi piaceva li stile dei disegni, inoltre essendo meno cringe mi ha fatto meno ridere. Peccato!!!
Esco da quest’esperienza fortemente cambiatx, passerò il resto dei miei giorni a predicare tra gli umani le gesta dei nostri eroi.

Bref, « Depth of Field » est une jolie histoire d’amour sur fond de musique et de photo. J’ai aimé la façon dont le côté artistique s’est mélangé à la relation qui se crée entre Konno et Hayakawa (j’aurais même aimé que ce soit encore plus poussé). Enfin, hormis le passé d’Hayakawa, j’ai trouvé le premier tome plutôt brouillon dans sa structure et son intention. Le deuxième relève toutefois le niveau et nous propose un duo bien plus attachant et cohérent dans leurs comportements, même si je reste sur ma faim devant la rapidité de ce développement.

Non avevo aspettative per questa serie, comprata perché mi ispirava la copertina. Poi ho letto il primo, vi intravedevo qualcosa di buono e diciamo che mi ha "delusa". Qualche base c'è, i disegni sono carini ed è interessante il modo in cui l'autrice esprime la sessualità. È molto diretta e non si uniforma ai clicchè del genere. Penso che mi darò un'occhiata all'altra opera in uscita. Essendo più lunga magari ha più modo di farci esplorare il suo mondo.

Beh, questo secondo volume mi è piaciuto più del primo. Secondo me l'autrice è riuscita a rappresentare la loro storia in un modo più realista. Ma forse dipende anche dal fatto che la narrazione spetta a Konno in questo secondo volume.

Okay, der zweite Band ist wirklich besser als der erste. Ein bisschen lustiger und auch irgendwie cute. Er ist nicht mehr ganz so ernst wie der erste Band. Die Charaktere haben sich aber auch ein bisschen geändert in der Zeit. Ist ja auch legitim.
Gegen einen dritten Band hätte ich nichts mehr einzuwenden gehabt aber naja

Fue el final que ambos se merecían (después de ese trágico evento)
Me gustó que hubiera un lapso de tiempo desde lo que pasó en el tomo 1 a lo que pasa en este tomo porque así podemos ver a los protagonistas ya habiendo madurado y estando ahora si listos para estar ya juntos.
