Orphaned at birth, and raised by a kindly innkeeper in the small village of Shorn Hollow, Nyte's life has always been tough. Being the half-breed bastard of a human and a Darkon elf, made most of those in his life look upon him with fear or mistrust. And it's about to get worse.
The mysterious mage known as Marshall has come to Nyte's village looking for him. His blood is more than just a mix of two races. There's a dormant power hidden inside it. One that's legacy stems from the most feared race in the history of the four lands.
Now, to save himself, his village, and in fact all the lands. Nyte must undertake a journey to awaken his true self. An ancient evil has risen, the Strigoi King once again walks in the realm of the living
Only Nyte has the power to stop him, and that's only if he can learn to control the darkness within. Only if he can learn what it means, to be the last Dhampyr...
An American based author, James fell in love with reading as a child. After spending over two decades as a Fugitive Recovery agent, he finally decided it was time to take a chance and possibly make a change. With little more than his love for the reading and writing of great stories, he set out on the pursuit of a lifelong dream. To become a published author.
That dream was realized in 2017 with the creation of Wraieth Books and the release of his first novel, Heaven's Hunter. Inspired by the reception his first book received, he released a second book in June of 2018 titled Half-Breed The Last Dhampyr. An epic fantasy with a bit of a dark side that went on to spend several months in the top one hundred bestseller ranks on the Amazon Canadian sight. As well as in the top five hundred for the U.S and U.K. Solidifying him as an up and coming fantasy author.
Taking inspiration from such greats as R.A Salvatore, Terry Brooks, and the immortal J.R.R. Tolkien, just to name a few. James now focuses his efforts on creating his own great works to share with the world. Hoping that someday his love for writing will finally allow him to lay down his gun and badge forever.

Really enjoyed this book, had a wonderful story full of adventure. Made me feel for the characters and their troubles. Over all though was a great read.
Half-Breed, by James Wraieth is a fantasy that explores the theme of identity through its half-human, half Darkon protagonist, Nyte. Nyte's being orphaned at birth is just one of the battles he faces in his journey. The story is told with plenty of action, and a few surprises. Wraieth balances this with a plot that appeals to the heart of the reader. This book is an example of good old fashioned storytelling. Sit back, and enjoy.
First, let me say I love the story. The characters were great and the action kept me moving along nicely. I picked up the e-book at release and was a little disappointed with the editing, but kept an eye on it after seeing the authors post about it being re-edited. I then requested the updated version from Amazon, I'm glad I did, It was much better than at release. It's still not perfect, but it is good enough I suggested it to my book club. Hope to read more of these characters and cheers to the author for listening to his readers.
Ive been a fan of this author for a while. It's got a lot of things that are unique for the fantasy genre, and a really good story line. The characters are genuine and easy to fall in love with. It was a captivating read can't wait for more.
As all my favorite parts elves, war & magic Call of adventure and intrigue that lead you down a dark path between companions that with a changing life of their friend. Looking forward to book 2?
Lots of action. Believable characters. Could not put it down. Would recommend it. Hope this becomes a series. I would encourage the author to keep on writing.
I listened to this book on audible and really love the narration; however, I feel as a whole, this book is very weak. While the premise is just fine and interesting enough, I felt like the author had no voice. It felt like he was trying to copy someone else's style and voice instead of finding his own. I also felt like there were so many unnecessary parts of the book that didn't need to be there. I found myself bored, if not for the great narration. In addition, the addition of the female elf was only there to feed some quota. She did nothing in the book, which was so disappointing. I could never recommend this book to my female friends because there are no strong female characters to follow. Luckily, there was no toxic masculinity, which I am very grateful for. So while the female characters were lacking, the male characters that didn't fit the stereotypes so many "strong" male characters fall into. However, it wasn't enough for me to give a high rating.
The story in this book was great. I enjoyed how each character grew into their rolls. However, the book had a great number of grammar mistakes....so many in fact that I started highlighting them. It doesn’t necessarily take away from the story, but it is distracting. The author may want to have it re-edited to fix all the grammatical errors. I still gave it 4 stars because the storyline was really good.
What a great story! Loved the characters and the action kept it moving well. Did notice a few grammatical errors but nothing to distracting. Really hoping for and looking forward to a 2nd part.
