Acclaimed for great characters, thrilling action, technical accuracy and a compelling sense of mystery.
This story begins with the flagship of the C/O cruise lines fleet, the cruise ship Atlantica. On her most recent voyage she loses contact with the mainland, then the ship's location plotting devices stop working. Slowly it becomes apparent that some strange occurrence has taken place. The first book doesn't give too much away, but by the second book things begin to make more sense.
I was totally in the zone throughout reading this series of books. I became so involved in it, that while I was reading the only world that existed for me was the one in The Locus series. It was a mesmerising series. The books built up the tension gradually, and the battles and action scenes were incredibly believable.
I found myself getting really emotional when a character I really had grown to like and admire, became seriously wounded. This series moved me to tears on a number of occasions.
It’s an interesting take on apocalyptic times. They find out that even in the worst of times. Working together is the only way to survive. I would recommend this book to anyone that like apocalyptic stories. I gave it a four star rating because it kept me interested all the way through.
