Be careful who you trust, or you might walk into a trap.

After putting her neck on the line to save Noah and Sage’s lives, Raven is on the brink of death. The only thing that might save her? Vampire blood.

The problem is, no one’s supposed to know that vampire blood can heal humans. Anyone who finds out will be silenced. Which means Sage and Noah need to take Raven to a vampire they can trust. But shifters don’t normally trust vampires, so they only know one vampire who fits that category.

Thomas Bettencourt is a vampire prince who rules an elite coven in Chicago. And thanks to his secret history with Sage, he might be willing to save Raven’s life. But only if they agree to his conditions.

Now they have two choices—accept Thomas’s demands, or let Raven die. And after imprinting on Raven, Noah will do anything to ensure she survives.

Even if that means making a deal with a vampire.

The Angel Trap by Michelle Madow is the third book in the Dark World: The Angel Trials series. This series is a spin off of Michelle’s Dark World: The Vampire Wish series but I don’t think it’s totally necessary to have read The Vampire Wish series although readers would certainly have a much deeper understanding of the world within and a glimpse at the characters that have crossed over to continue on from the end of that series.

Like the previous series The Angel Trials is a urban paranormal fantasy read that includes shifters, witches and demons, vampires and nephilm. There is also mentions of the ending of the previous series and Annika who was the lead character so as mentioned starting with The Vampire Wish would definitely give a deeper understanding of everything.

The story in this series is centered around Raven Danvers who was about to celebrate her 21st birthday. Raven’s mother claimed that she is a witch and insisted that Raven would gain powers soon enough but Raven was skeptical of magic. However when Raven was confronted by demons and saved by Noah, who is on a demon hunting task from Annika, Raven’s eyes were opened to a whole new world. Each book picks up right where the story has left off and continues on from there.

As with all of Michelle Madow’s books the story is an incredibly fast paced and action packed adventure that still wonderfully builds the world and characters along the way. Each book will end with a jaw dropping cliffhanger that leaves readers anxious for the next in the series but then the next builds the action up even more and more. This installment has switched to having the point of view more of Noah and Sage after the first two concentrated more on Raven but as always the changes fit the story wonderfully and I will again be waiting impatiently for the next read.

I received an advance copy from the author, many thanks to Michelle Madow for allowing me to once again read early.

Review:

Protagonists: YES!!!! I can finally call this section "Protagonists" again! Seriously though, as much as I love Raven and enjoyed seeing from her POV, her total domination of the books so far did bug me considering that The Vampire Wish series always felt more balanced when it came to other characters' POVs. Anyway, in this installment, a lot of the story is devoted to Sage, and I loved every minute of it. Sage has always been a character that I liked, but I never felt we knew all that well. We know she's a bit rebellious, okay a lot rebellious, and that she comes from the Montgomery pack, but in this story, we learn more about her past and her relationship with a certain vampire named Thomas. I loved getting to know more of Sage's backstory and the hardships she's had to endure in her life. We do finally get a few more chapters from my personal favorite character, Noah, and for those who haven't read The Vampire Wish series, we learn more about who he is and his backstory as well as what Raven may have been doing during the time her memory was most likely erased and replaced. The character development in this book, heck, this series, is fantastic, it's subtle and nothing feels like it's coming out of the blue or that it's out of character.

Romance: I've said before that the romance in this series is probably my favorite part, and that still remains true in this installment, and it's not just because there's twice the romance. While Raven and Noah are still dealing with their seemingly impossible imprint, an imprint that Raven doesn't even know about at the start of this book, Sage has some romantic drama of her own. See she has a romantic past with Thomas, it didn't end well. I wasn't sure if I would like a romance between Thomas and Sage, mainly because I didn't know much about Thomas before this book, and I have to say, even though there's one thing about him, okay maybe a couple of things, that seems sketchy about him, I actually grew to like him as a character and I really like his connection with Sage and learning more about their past together. Of course, there's more Raven/Noah romance and I lapped it up like a parched dog. I don't know why, but I really love the connection between Raven and Noah, probably because she calls him on all his crap and really, what's not to love there?

World Building: So, I've been pretty critical of the plot progression in this series, but that was before two revelations. One, that each installment in this series feels more like an episode of a series, or mini-series to be more precise (this revelation I came to on my own after reading the second installment), and two, that there will be anywhere from seven to nine installments in this series. Because of these revelations, I tempered my expectations going into this installment, and I have to say, not only was I not left disappointed, but I was actually surprised at how much plot progression there actually was in this installment. Like I've mentioned before, a lot of this installment focuses on the past, Sage's past with Thomas, Raven's missing time in "Europe," and even Noah's past. In fact, while we do get to see more of this world, and learn more of its secrets, this installment feels very character focused.

Predictability: Going into this book, as I've said before, my expectations were tempered and I thought I had a good grasp on how this would unfold, and until a certain point I was right. See, after the story moves beyond where I thought it would, I was completely caught off guard and the story just sort of went in a direction I wasn't planning on. I have to say, I love where the author is taking this story and I love how even though I knew something was going to happen, I wasn't prepared for the surprises that awaited in this book.

Ending: So, like I said, until a certain point I knew what would happen and then all hell broke loose. The final climax of this book pretty much makes up everything after where I thought the story would go. The final climax honestly just blew me away, it's not a big action scene, but I was sort of in shock from the twists and turns that were happening, the places that this story is going were shocking the heck out of me, and the tension built up never dissipated, even when the story reached the cliffhanger I'm sure many people know was coming. I mean, this might have been the most crippling cliffhanger I've read from this author yet.

Rating:

I wasn't sure I was going to give this book 5 stars until I wrote the review, because even though the author's writing isn't perfect, she tends to over explain things in the exposition a lot, the story was everything I was hoping for and more and now I'm kicking myself for reading this installment so soon, because even if she writes these books rather quickly, it's going to feel like agony waiting to see what's coming next.

I received a free copy of this book directly from the author Ms. Madow. Thank you Michelle, this is my review.

I read this novel in one sitting. Michelle has such a way of grabbing the readers attention. This novel was beyond engaging and left us wanting more and with a cliff hanger.

I really enjoyed that this particular story focused on Sage and her past. I love learning more about characters in this world because they are so complex. Sage is fiery, determined and stubborn. This novel picks right up where the last one left off. We find out more about Sage and her past with Thomas.

I am so scared, nervous and beyond excited about where the story is going to take us next; and unfold. Michelle's writing is always so engaging, inspiring, thought provoking and really takes the story to a place that is not predictable. I also love the covers, they are perfect and really embody Raven and where she is at throughout this portion of the story.

I cannot wait until the next installment. This series is a roller-coaster ride I never want to end. A Must Read Series!

The story delves deeper into the lives of its characters, with Sage's journey and her complex relationships being a highlight. The introduction of Thomas adds a fresh perspective, and Raven's slow-burn romance with Noah is a satisfying development. However, the book's multiple perspectives can sometimes be confusing, and the ending leaves you with more questions than answers, but that is a common ouccrance when it comes to Michelle Madow.

Sigh. I was really enjoying this story, but every time this book changed POV from Raven and Noah, to Sage and Thomas, I feel enraged. I know that's a strong emotion to feel, but truly, idngaf about Sage and Thomas. I feel no connection to them whatsoever as individuals, and haven't witnessed their relationship development from the start so really, I couldn't care. I want to focus on Raven and Noah's story. I feel like they're super adorable and I feel connected to their personal development. I feel like every time the POV changes, the story is halted. There's no mystery, there's no wondering - you're witnessing everyone's POV so you know everything that's happening all the time. I don't care about Flint's POV. I feel like these should be two different books, set in the same time frame.

I do not see myself continuing this series, because honestly. I don't care about the plot enough to want to waste time reading it.

Too much

The POV changes are out of control with this book. 5 POV's in one book and they seemed inauthentic. I didn't buy that they were coming from 5 distinct characters. I'm done with the series.

I really enjoyed the first two books in this series, so I was looking forward to this book releasing! I then received an email about ARCs, so I signed up for one! I will admit that I had to re-read the last few chapters of the second book because I couldn't remember exactly where it ended! I'm really happy that I did this because it helped me understand this book more! After reading this book, I can say that I enjoyed it! I felt like it connected more with the prequel series to this series and it was fun to see it all starting to connect! The plot also developed at a nice pace and kept me intrigued! There were a few surprises in the plot too and some twist and turns to keep things interesting! There was quite a lot of romance in the plot too and this made me really happy! The characters were again amazing and made this book even better! Raven was again one of the main female characters, and in this book she learned more about herself and about what she was and her power! Raven was also easy for me to connect with and I can see her going through a lot in the next book in this series after the circumstances of this book! Noah was again the main male character and love interest of Raven! Noah had to reveal his secret in this book and this made me feel sorry for him because he wasn't exactly trying to hide it, but he felt ashamed over what he had done in the prequel series to this one! Noah was still very protective of Raven in this book and it was easy to see his feelings for her develop! Sage, who had been a secondary character in this series, also made a lot of appearances in this book and played a much bigger role! This made me really happy because I felt like I got to know her more and learn more about her life and background! Her love interest, Thomas, also got a bigger role and this made me really happy! I can see him appearing more as this series continues! I loved that that this book was written from a few different point of views like the first book was! It was written from Raven, Noah, Sage and Thomas's point of views! I would say that this book was kind of equally split between all four of these characters unlike the first two books which were mainly written from Raven's point of view! A few chapters were written from Flint's point of view too! All the different point of views added a lot, especially as there were a few side stories going on! It helped me connect and understand all the characters more and allowed for a lot more things to happen in the plot! I now can't wait to read the next book in this series! This book did end at the perfect place to lead into the next book and I'm excited to find out what's going to happen next for the characters! I really hope that it releases soon and I'll definitely be waiting on it to release and can't wait to read it once it does! I also love the cover for this book a lot! It suits the other covers in the series and is very pretty! It would definitely draw me to the book too and make me want to read the story behind it! The model is also the perfect Raven! Big thank you to Michelle for an ARC of The Angel Trap!

Oh. My. Gosh. That was insane! I always love how Michelle writes, but so far this was the most exciting story of hers. The whole story is enticing, it is very hard to put down even when you should have some sleep.
Raven grows further in character, and she reveals a lot of information about herself and her companions. Noah a little bit less stubborn, but still too stubborn to what he should. Sage is surprising in this book, a lot of revealed about her story and helps to understand the way she is. The story is fast paced and very exciting, the characters grow even closer to us, and the punchline makes me want to read further already. I can't wait for the next part!
I reviewed an ARC copy of the book voluntarily.

Wow! What an intense ending, now I want to read what happens next as soon as possible. I really enjoyed this book, so far this series is going quite well. It's fast paced, thrilling, somewhat romantic, and very entertaining. All the characters are well-written and well-developed. And of course, Raven and Noah are simply brilliant. I think this series is a must read for everyone, especially if you like paranormal the you shouldn't miss it.

So many emotions in this book. It goes from love, to heartache, to rage it's got it all. You learn so much with this about everyone. It have you smiling at the happy moments and literally laughing out loud. But the big one is that the end where you really feel like the author is ripping your heart out with the last few paragraphs. Michelle literally pushes you over a cliff into the void with the unknowing of what's going to happen next. I am hanging on for dear life till the next book comes out.

What an emotional rollercoaster this book was for me. This book picks up where the 2nd ended. Raven is on the verge of death after using Noah's weapon on the demon. Sage & Noah must rush Raven to a vampire to try and convince him to save Raven with his blood. But this vampire has history with Sage, and boy what history it is. Will he help them or not? They have to accept his terms if they want to keep Raven alive. Noah is so close to completing his mission, only one more demon to kill. Can he do it? Will he keep denying his bond with Raven or will he finally accept that they've imprinted on each other? Only way to find out is to read it for yourself, I'm not going to tell you. I will say this book will leave you wanting the next book NOW.

Holy Cliffhanger! This book was epic! A bunch of questions were answered but then also left me with more questions and I loved every single second of it. I devoured this book in a few hours.

I'm not going to say anything about what happened in this book because it will ruin it for you... you just have to read it. Brilliantly done Michelle. I can not wait to see what happens next.

What! Say What!

I receive a copy of this book to review and I loved it. But the last few chapters leave you guessing and wondering what is to come, and hoping that it all workout out in the end.
Angel Trap was full of love and romance, and the main characters accepting what was meant to be. But it was also full of suspense and the end leaves you hanging and wanting more!

I can not wait for the next book in the series!

Good story turned dark. Definitely not a happily ever after story. I hope that the forces of good can, in future stories, overcome the evil released in this one.

I enjoyed this third book in the series as much as the first two. I like that we learn more about Sage in this story. I love the fast pace of these books and how much story the author fits into each one without anything getting confusing. I like the uniqueness of this universe and I love that the women have brains.
I don’t like the ending because it is a cliff-hanger and yes, I took off a star because of it. But the author promises that the next book will be out soon, so we don't have to wait too long. Sage’s past introduces us to Thomas, a vampire. I really enjoy Thomas. He is a combination of all the best and most frustrating traits of an entitled alpha. So much fun!
A very good book!

Again, this book felt like it should've just continued in the last one.

Don't get me wrong. I love love love the twists and turns this book took. I think I just wanted more of Raven. I know I said last time that I wanted more Sage. THAT DOES NOT MEAN BRAINWASHED SAGE YOU MONSTER.

Wow. Once again, so many emotions going through me again. MICHELLE MADOW did it again, pulls you one and each book has you falling in love with the story more. She’s one of those authors that will pull you back in. I can’t get enough. I loved all her books that I read, but so far this is my favorite series. It makes me glad that I was on vacation because it gave me more time to read it. I didn’t think there could be more surprises, I should known better. Even I did not see the ending of THE ANGEL TRAP coming, considering how good they were doing with the demon hunting. The surprise of Thomas and Noah, I knew that they didn’t either. I believe that’s what made it so much more interesting. I hope that Noah and Thomas can find a way to rescue Sage and Raven, or I am afraid of what might happen to them if they don’t. When I reached the ending, I picked up the next book right after. I needed to know what would happen next. I wanted to see if they would rescue you them, I wanted to know what would happened to Raven and Sage.

Each book seems to get a lot more action packed. That wasn’t any different in THE ANGEL TRAP which was filled with action and suspense from start until the end. I wondered, what would happen with girls, what would demon do to them? I loved fact that THE ANGEL TRAP was also told from point of view of Noah and Sage as well, and once I read the book, I felt as I got to know them better. I loved the two of them before but after this book, I love them more and I was as anxious as both Thomas and Noah was when the girls were abducted by the demon. I love Noah and Raven. But now, I love Thomas and Sage as well, it clear how much the two of them love each other. I don’t buy Thomas’s story about why he broke up their engagement those years ago, I feel as there is more to the story then what he told Sage. I was happy when the two of them imprinted on each other. I was heartbroken for Thomas when she was abducted, just when he got her back, he lost her again.

Flint. I can’t believe what he did, I can’t begin to imagine the betrayal that Sage must be feeling. THE ANGEL TRAP always had something going on, every page. I found out myself reading late into the night, and more of the time 1 more chapter turned into hours of reading. This series is unique, and you will be hooked from the first book, I was. I can’t believe it took me this long to read it and now I know what I was missing. I can’t wait to see what happens next, in THE ANGEL GIFT I love the titles that Michelle comes up for these books. If you want read a book that will keep your attention and will have you on edge of your seat, and if you love fantasy and romance. Pick it up. It’s unlike any other series you read before. One of the best series that I have read this year. You will find yourself craving for more.

It’s…magical.

I think this series is addictive. In my previous reviews I have written a lot about the style of writing of Michelle Madow. Im not going to that all over again. I also don’t leave spoilers. Yeah what’s left for me to write about 😂. I can tell you that The Angel Trap, gives us more insight into Sage’s character and her past, which leads to the introduction of another new member to the team. This new character comes across as Mysterious, enigmatic, Dark & Sexy, adding another dimension to this series. Also it gives us some answers to why Sage is as she is. Although I wish I could box Noah’s ears for him, as he continues to make things hard for himself & Raven. We also find some more references to the “Vampire Wish” series with Michelle Madow published before this “Angel Trials” series. You don’t necessarily need to read it to understand the references made, however I would never turn down a recommendation for any of Michelle Madow’s work. of this series, I doubt I need to blow the trumpet for Michelle Madows Creativity which gives the originality in her books. I always find myself choked up at some point in her books, as her quality of realism is outstanding, however the Cliffhanger In “The Angel Trap” was such a twist it had me literally trying to stop myself reading as it was so tense, my butt cheeks was hurting, and my husband thought it was funny that I was shouting Nooooo at my e-reader, then trying to continue reading through my fingers... it was unimaginable but exceptional, my heart was in my mouth, I think I actually held my breath for to long at one point. Needles to say this series is fantastic, each book is growing more and more superb. I can’t wait for the next book

Ok people, this is book THREE in a five book series. Be prepared for a cliffhanger because we're smack in the middle of the story. With that said, OMG I loved this book so much. We get to see some back history for Sage, and even a bit of romance. She deserves it. Meanwhile, Noah finally admits the truth to Raven, so they get to explore their feelings and contemplate the consequences of choosing each other. Raven even learns a bit about her missing memories and the events that transpired while she was supposedly backpacking through Europe. During all of this, they are hunting demons in an attempt to complete their quest. It's packed with action and intrigue, as Sage's brother schemes to include her in his sinister plans.

This story is told in the first person, but with alternating points of view. We get to discover the inner thoughts of several different characters, which gives us much more insight into the overall narrative. The pace is steady, moving from one situation to the next without making you feel like your head is spinning but without letting you put the book down in between. The world is so compelling, with vampires, animal shifters, witches, and demons. After five books in the original series, and three more in this series, Michelle has really brought her creation to life. And I loved the ending, despite the fact that it left me screaming for the next book. I can't wait to find out what happens next.

I volunteered to review an ARC of this novel.

This is a spin off from Michelle Meadows "Dark World" the vampire wish series, but it's not necessary to read the Wish series to get an understanding of this particular storyline.
Ms Meadow has an exquisite talent of weaving her world's together, yet each can be read independently.
Angel Trap is an Urban Paranormal read that incorporates shifters, demon's, witches and plenty more to keep you challenged.
Rowan is about to celebrate her 21st birthday but she received an Extra present from her family informing her that she carries the. Bloodline of some very powerful witches, and her powers are about to come to fruition.
Each book in the series gives you more information about the life Rowan has been drawn into, one she has to accept.
Full of drama especially once your pulled into the events she is experiencing including having a huge effect on her world.
It is fast paced and full of twists and turns plus never ending dramatic issues that these endearing characters are pulled into.
You cannot help empathize with their lifestyle and what they have to deal with.
Ms Meadow has outdone herself with the connection she has created between their world and our empethatic feeling's as we relate to many of these characters especially as Rowan learns to understand what her life and powers entail.
This is one series your going to thirst for as soon as you finish the last page, definitely wanting to read the next book in this entertaining and intriguing series.

Was really happy to get into this series again, I always find Michelle's books so easy to read and was able to read it in one sitting as always

I was really happy to see more of the world coming together, this is such an interesting world that the story is set in and to see more of the other supernaturals especially from a different angle then the first series set in this world. I really liked the introduction of the new Vampire to the series his life is different compared to what I have read before. He is so sophisticated and it was great seeing him interact with the characters I love especially Sage.

I really enjoyed more of her input into the story, its great to see a strong shifter character and I really like the relationship she has with Raven. This is definitely something I was to see continue in the books to come.
One thing that did get on me a little was the relationship between Noah and Raven, I felt like I needed more of them as it just felt a little too back and forth, a lot of holding back.

The action was a bit more in this one and dam that cliff hanger at the end got me good, can't wait for the next one!

I totally adore Michelle Madow’s Dark World: The Angel Trials, both in concept and in execution. It’s no surprise then that I was delighted to get my hands on The Angel Trap, book 3 of series. This book is, quite simply, superb and definitely recommended. It full of the promised romance, adventure, and twists, had just what I wanted, was well written and with a great plot and great cast of characters. As much as I (totally) enjoyed the prior focus in Raven, I also liked that it switched this time to focus on Sage and her background in this book. I’m not going to summarize it - as the publisher’s blurb and other reviews more than cover that - so instead I will just go with one descriptive: superb. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises - this book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, it is easy to highly recommend.
