Everyone has dark moments in their life that we sometimes wish we could erase or forget. But sometimes it's the pain and struggle that we have gone through that gave us our inner strength.

For me, writing started as a way to confront some of the demons of my past so that I could put them behind me forever. Most of my characters have a dark or troubled past and my books follow their progress as they emerge from the darkness that has held them down for so long.

As the darkness fades, hope for a better future starts to emerge (like the sun after a storm). A piece of my soul goes into each one of my books, and my hope and faith in a brighter tomorrow is reflected in each one of my characters.

Books have always been a source of escape and enjoyment for me, so I hope that my work can help others in the same way:-)

Too much

Anna has survived loss, abuse, trauma, more loss, being discovered, the fear of forming bonds, the fear of losing those bonds, being discovered again- but by unknown and possibly unfriendly family, learning about magic ... There's good in there but a lot of fear and sorrow, too. Now she's got Gemma to contend with, Fae popping up all over the place with demands and couched offers, witches and lamia negotiations, a possibly magic fueled hurricane bearing down on them, and a crappy brother in law that is out to ruin the pack any way he can. So, no stress, right?

Spoilers ahead.
This is shaping up to be very similar to Sumida's Godhunter series. A powerful, multi magiced (I made up that word) woman being pulled into different directions. Also, the kidnapping as courtship thing. The focus is still scattered in this book, like it was in 3. The writing itself isn't bad, it's just so many concepts being thrown at the reader that get overwhelming. O actually found myself skimming through a good bit of this book. And that makes me terribly sad because book 1 was really good. Book 2 was good, as well. These last 2 have lost that emotional punch, and just when it should be ramping up! She's claiming her pack. Finally! I really hope that the next book gives us those happy bonding moments to really cement these different relationships being formed: friends, pack, family, mates.

Can’t wait for the finally!

I hope everything gets better, but from the title for the last book a doubt it. Yikes I am both looking forward and not looking forward to the next book. Let’s all hope that there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

How can you be strong and submissive?

This is really a 3.5 for the following reasons, but I rounded up to a four because a 3 felt unfair. Ok this really bothers me, and it's not a "well this is the way werewolves are" kind of a thing because other writers of the genre have avoided it. Anna is suppose to be this strong, independent woman but she is so submissive and is subservient to Austin because he is the pack master. There are all these overtures of Anna being strong and an equal, but she isn't because the way this is written she has to answer to Austin and Austin has final say. It's how do I convince Austin to let me do this not hey Austin this is something that I need to do and I will hear you and the rest of the guys out and consider your concerns but if I need to do this and it's the only way then I will do it even over your objections. The dynamic of the group also doesn't work to the extent that they have ranking. One of the guys can literally order another to get away from Anna and they have to. James literally orders the twins away not because the twins need to unload the best and bring it in but because they wanted some time with Anna. I thought as the story developed and the harem dynamic emerged you would see this smooth out with there being more equality among the group but it really isn't happening and is.taking away from the story for me. Having a guy go agro aggressive and not immediately calming down and saying "yeah I get it, you didn't intend to scare her but you did. Don't do it again." isn't sexy, it's a red flag for a guy you should run away from as fast as you can. I'm really starting to be disappointed in Anna and her guys. I hope they take a turn for the better in the next book.

Had to stop after two pages and go back and read the series from the beginning lol...but it was worth it. I hate reading a book in a series and not remembering the all the details. I am really looking forward to seeing what all Talen gave Anna, here's hoping it's all kind of helpful knowledge on magic, the fae and their world. Really can't wait for the next book even though if it's more than 5 months I will have to read the series again lol, good think I have KU!!

This book was much better than the one before it because this one actually brought things together and had a little bit more of a substance to it. This book actually tied things together a little bit better. I'm still disappointed in the fact that we still didn't see what happened during the bonding ceremony. Or Evelyn's goodbye. Those two things would have been very interesting to see because they build it up so much in the first two books you would hope that the third book would have had something about it. But it didn't. Neither did the 4th. And I'm going to assume that because it's past it's not going to be shared with us. Which is sad.

I feel so bad about Talen. I cried. Like ugly cry.

I really hope that the twins get their heads out of their asses because Anna needs them. She's feeling their loss.

Wow! This book is absolutely wonderful. Once you start you can't put it down. Anna is with her pack but needs to rebuild some of her relationships. Some of the guys are just so afraid to lose her and aren't used to dealing with the emotions. Anna and Austin Finally!!! Gemma is still there causing problems. The question is will Anna figure out what's going on in time to stop it. Anna is trying to learn more of her magic so it comes natural while still learning the fight without it. There are those who don't want her around and will do whatever it takes to make her go away; but she isn't going anywhere without fighting! Each book gets better and better.

This was a good one! I loved it. I was a little bit worried last book about what was going to happen, especially after that cliff-hanger! But C.C. Masters handled it like a pro. I ran through this book and I will have to re-read it because I think there are little things in here that I missed. The pack is so great, I love each and every one of them. I also love how Anna is coming into her own. She’s starting to stand up, be firm, still trusting but not in a terribly naive way. I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book. We’ll learn more about Austin and Austin is one of my favorites. The waiting game begins.

Overall: 5/5

Chills!

Wow, Anna and the pack has certainly been though a lot. But this book, which was fantastically written, made me really see Anna make the choice to shred more of her human side to protect herself and those she loves. However, as often happens, it’s a three steps forward, two steps back... betrayal and guilt are a big problem that separate Anna and the guys. Anna does a good job of confronting this at the beginning of the book, but is hurt too much to get out of her own head by the end. The next book is really going to split them wide open I think, with fae secrets and familial problems.

At the end of this book, I was really sad. All what happened... I may be happy, that 'Gemma' is gone. But it came with a high price. A price I wished it hasn't to be paid.

I may hope it will get better and that what Anna got from Talen will help her at least. But I know the previous books. We get three positives and then, if you don't expect it, there follows two negatives. Just enough to not be too depressed about the progress, but not enough to feel truly relieved and happy.

But I try to comfort me with the thought, that at the end of this series all will be alright. So, even if I dread and look forward at the same way to reading the next book... I will read it!

Hmmm

I've absolutely loved everything about this series.... Until now. Finding Truth Beneath the Lies is a good book, but it almost felt as if there was too much going on.... The Gemma thing, the summer Fae and the hurricane, the lamia and the witches, Drake and Froston, the council, and the entire Justin situation. All the action was extremely well written but it really took away from the growth of Anna and the guys relationship. I'm hoping book 5 might time down the action and focus on strengthening each relationship with each of her guys.

ehhh

Anna was literally apart from the pack the entire third book just for the division to continue this book. This is already slow burn and this is just elongating the distance.

She learned about the glazed over look last book but she didn’t figure it out again.

What happened with her job?

She killed the king and she mocking the witch saying, “Did my puny little barrier made by a baby fae with barely any magic skills really deter her that easily?” Girl what? Clearly, you’re powerful. She also shouldn’t have thanked Drake for his help.

OMG! Soooo good.

I am in love with this story, it is as amazing adventure and the characters are developing more and more with every book. The amount of excitement and sexy time is perfect. Anna is just a wonderful character and she grows with every book in to this amazing and kick ass woman. The twists and turns, the suspense and mystery make this one of my favorite books. Thank you C.C Masters for writing this amazing story.

Another great addition

Love this series and love how Anna’s character is in this book. There is happiness, sadness, hurt, finding how they are going to continue but most of all love. Did I mention already how I love this series! Can’t wait to the next book. Again so many possibilities and so many questions, this story can go so many ways and I can’t wait to read how the author plays it out.

I almost did not finish this one, the plot is just not captivating enough, but I was stuck at the pool With no way to download another book, and this isn’t BAD, so I decided to finish it off. I’m glad I did. At least now I dont have a 1/2 finished book I kinda liked but was also kinda meh. I’ll likely even read the next one. Guess I just need to be in the mood. Two months is too long to spend with a book this length.

This book series is genuinely one of my favourites❤️

Recently i’ve been really stressed because of school but this book provided just what i needed!!

I’m really enjoying the world building and relationships with the boys. It’s such a shame what happened to Talen, I hope he comes back :( Gemma was horrible from the start, i’m so sad the boys didn’t see it.

I overall really love this series! The writer is so amazing and I will be continuing this series <3

Continues to thrill

Normally by the fourth book, there is a lot of repetition, the lead character is pretty set up and not a lot of change happens really. Not so with this SERIES, the characters are still growing and learning, but not in a way that feels forced or overly scripted. It's a good slow burn RH and one of my favs in the genre.

I'm done already 😭

I get the newest book. I gorge myself on said new book and then I'm sad when I'm done. This series is amazing and can't wait for the next one! Wish I could say which one of the guys is my favorite but it's impossible to pick one when they are all special in their own way.

I finally like Anna

It’s taken 4.5 books but I finally don’t feel the overwhelming urge to roll my eyes at something Anna has done. Her transformation from the shy self deprecating female into a strong woman was a little hard to read at times because how conflicting her history and current actions were.

It gets better

I thought this would just be another RH and was prepared to be bored after the second book. So I was pleasantly surprised and though I rarely do reviews, I want to pass on how much I have enjoyed this series. If you have read Throne of Glass and it's a favorite of yours this series is defiantly worth your time.

DNF... not that I didn't like the series, but it's definitely a slow burn. A little too slow for me. I just want things to move quicker. I'm also a little turned off by how the heroine backslides into bad old habits. Anyway... may finish it some time in the future. But need more currently to keep my interest.

This was a fun read. It takes a lot for me to like a slow burn but this series really blew it out of the park! I loved the interactions with the characters and how they all grow to love each other. The last book I feel was either too slow or too fast. It's been several days since I finished reading and am still debating on which I am leaning more towards.

this book just consisted of too much-unwanted drama and unrequired scene

the most heartbreaking scene was taken death
his character should not have been introduced as a potential main character if there was not going to be any character development done for him, it felt like he was introduced but the author did not know what to do with the character so his death was seen

Love this series

As with all of C.C. Masters books, she hooked me from page one. This series has gone through so many twists, turns, and barrel rolls I don't know what to expect next but you can bet your butt I will be waiting on the next book.

Hmmm

I love this series. Anna has come such a long way in growing into a strong key player. I was ecstatic to see her relationships grow and deepen with her men. Can't wait to find out more of the underlying mysteries that all the books have been leading up to.

Back together

Enjoyed having the wolves back together again. Not quite as good as the first 2 books as the relationships seem to take more of a backseat to the plot and magic. Will definitely read the next book to see where story goes.

Awesome

This book was thrilling, just like the previous books. That snake in the grass had me angry almost tree ENTIRE book! I am a bit confused on the ending though... is there going to be a 5th book... the story was left pretty open.

This was one was much better. Maybe. Or maybe the story is finally progressing enough that it is interesting.

There are a decent amount of story lines but not all get the attention, build up, and closure they need.

But it could also be part of the strategy.
