I have read a lot of books about leadership, team formation, company identity etc. And my conclusion is that if there were no Steve Jobs, Google or Marthin Luther King Jr. this sector would not have much to write about. The book has a nice structure actually and not badly written. It is just that, the examples given do not have the same significance all the time and the authors and I are not people who would see eye to eye in real life I feel. So their "poignant" points or anecdotes did not do much for me.
I liked the layout of A-Z style with real life examples interwoven with detail and thoughts. Very good points that can be used in everyday life when it comes to leading or even following.
Loved the practical examples provided in this book, I was hooked from page 1. Even the most experienced leaders might find it useful as leaving an organization at the right time is key, in my opinion.
Fabulous resource for aspiring or current leaders no matter what your field of work Hints and tips to inspire your team or indeed exit as an inspiring leader
An A-Z on leadership related themes which was good as an overview. However, not many new concepts if you have looked into this area and much of the A-Z felt like it was added to make it fit an A-Z rather than add that much value.
"Introducing Leadership" by Alison Price was a good leadership development book. The books provided well laid out ways to become a more effective leader. A good 4 star read.
Great read ..... gives you a lot of insight in to the qualities of a leader and how to develop your leadership skills. As you read your constantly challenged to relate and think of an idea with regard to the qualities discussed , i feel that's really an amazing exercise to do while reading.
" LEADERS ARE LIKE WATERING CANS- GIVEN THE RIGHT CARE AND CONDITIONS, EVEN THE WEAKEST SEEDLINGS CAN THRIVE. IT TAKES TIME AND ENERGY TO SUPPORT STRUGGLING INDIVIDUALS, BUT PERSEVERE ,AND YOU'LL BE AMAZED AT HOME MUCH THEY GROW "
