How to ruin a book in three easy quotes...good lord this hero is nasty...sigh.
"There’s usually an early morning yoga class, and the women are hot…and flexible. If the mood hit, I’d pick one up and go home with them for a little hardcore fucking. This weekend I won’t be able to go out looking for a lady friend, though, because my fourteen-year-old sister is coming to stay with her favorite big brother."
"If I want female companionship for the night, I have no trouble finding a lady—or ladies—to oblige me. What can I say? I’m irresistible. The ladies love me…well, and the huge dick in my pants."
"I usually like my women a bit thinner too. I know that makes me sound like a dick, but I can’t help who I’m attracted to."
I swear more often than not lately I am left scratching my head in confusion on why any author would think the above quotes would paint a favorable impression of our illustrious hero?? I honestly DO NOT get it!
SIDE NOTE: I skim read the rest and like every other page some woman is hitting on him, or they are running into one of his hookups. Or they are calling him wanting to hook up...lord save me. Like a bad game of whack-a-mole. Go to a resturant...hostess comes on to him. Go to another resturant...the waitress comes on to him. Go to Whole Foods someone in line comes on to him. Go to the gym...former twin hookups come on to him. Go to the coffee place...gets hit on. The heroine walks by his office door and hears him on the phone telling a hookup he is in a relationship now so not free to hook up. Literally, EVERYWHERE they went it mentions women eye-fucking him. It was so ridiculous.

False Security by Evan Grace was the second book in the Rogue Security and Investigations series. Although enjoyable, the series does not have to be read in order.
Erik was an employee at Rogue Security and Investigations. And he was a total player - almost to the point of no respect. He had women falling all over him. Shayla was starting over. New city. New beginnings. Her ex was abusive, served time for it and she was now divorced and totally focused on raising her son. They had a mutual friend and agreed to a blind date. And although the physical attraction was present, Shayla’s first impression of Erik was disappointing. And the story began. Ultimately they started working at the same firm and became friends. The author developed the friendship as a slow burn with focus on both of their backstories and a little drama. Erik and Shayla were both somewhat reserved, and although likable, I was desiring a little more warmth to them. Additionally, I wanted a little more conclusion from the main conflict, but it was slightly addressed in the epilogue - I just needed more confirmation versus assumption. All in all, it was a quick and enjoyable suspenseful read.

My first book by Evan Grace and I can officially say I’m a fan! I loved so much about False Security. From romance that swept me off my feet to heartwarming moments with friends and family I couldn’t get enough! I think the world knows by now I’m a total sucker for single parents. But I’m an even bigger one for men like Erik.
This giant of a man checked alllllll my boxes!

Yes please! Gimmie some more Erik! Even not making the greatest first impression this man still managed to melt my heart quicker than I could blink. I loved every thing about him and Shayla together! Shayla is a sweetheart of a single mom still recovering from the abuse she endured at the hands of her ex. Erik’s sweet and gentle love, along with that of his family, helped heal not only Shayla’s heart but that of her adorable son too. Mixed in with a bit of nail biting suspense it made for a book I could not put down!

Shayla has recently moved to town with her five year old son Grant for a fresh start. She hasn’t dated since her divorce, so her friend convinces her a blind date is a perfect way to get back into the swing of things. Although it didn’t get off to a great start they enjoyed a steamy evening, but she left the next morning before he was awake.
Erik has no modesty when it comes to his way with the ladies so when his blind date leaves without any word or any way to contact her it doesn’t sit well with him. There was something about Shayla that felt different and she may have been the one woman he would consider a second date with.
When he arrives at work he is pleasantly surprised to find that his search for his missing date is over as their new receptionist is none other than Shayla. Now that he has found her he is not going to let her go so easily but when her past comes back to haunt her will he be able to protect her and her son?
Red hot chemistry, humorous banter and suspense make this a story you won’t be able to put down. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader’s Copy of this book.

I loved everything about this story and these characters.
Shayla is a single mom to Grant. She is a very strong and courageous woman who has overcome difficult situations. She gets set up on a blind date with Erik and the rest is history. I wasn’t fond of Erik in the beginning, he was a huge flirt and seemed, at first, to have no respect for Shayla. He comes around because he’s intrigued by her sassiness and determination. The way he is with his sister helps Shayla see him in a different light as well.
I love how Erik was patient and loving towards Shayla and Grant. He didn’t try to push himself as a father figure, and Grant eventually opened up to him. He was patient with Shayla and gave her time to tell her story.
There are hard, emotional situations in this book and they are handled and written well. In every book I’ve read by Evan Grace, she takes the hard things and writes them well. I’ve read a few of her books and have enjoyed them.

Let me start with this book was amazing, but I admit a bit hard to read. Evan Grace wrote a warning about there being abuse in it. Shayla is my hero cause she was brave enough to get out
I wont give away any spoilers but Shayla is simply amazing. She's a single mom of a 5 year old son, her son is her entire world as it should be. For Grant AKA Grunt the sun rises and sets on his Mom. Fate played a huge part in this story and I loved that so much.
Erik AKA Mr Player. He's Cocky as hell and he knows he beautiful. But somehow Shayla and Grant are able to get inside his heart. Alpha men are my favorites and Erik is the perfect example

Marie's Tempting Reads ARC Review;
False Security was a FANTASTIC read! Intense, passionate, dangerous and stunning, this story was captivating and made for a great escape!
I really liked these characters. They were strong, sassy, sexy, intelligent and the story was a real page-turner. I loved how everything came together for a kick-butt romance with lots of good spice! I am loving these books so far by Evan Grace and am looking forward to reading more.

After her divorce sent her husband to prison, Shayla relocated with her son to start a new life. She gets asked to go on a blind date only to end up having a one night stand with Erik and walking away. Never did she expect to find him as an employee at her new job.
Erik wants answers and when he finds out she has a son he is even more intrigued to find out the secrets she is hiding. Erik is not sure he is boyfriend material but he plans to find out he wants Shayla and her son with every fiber of his being. However when it looks like she is in trouble he decides it is time for Shayla to truly realize he is not going anywhere.
Loved this one. Erik is a bit of a flirt and quickly realizes he has to prove himself to Shayla who pegs him from the get go. I thought Erik oozed charm and really liked Shayla, she is terrific and a fighter. Great addition to the Rogue Security and Investigation series.

Nel precedente volume della serie, dedicato a Reece e Delilah, avevamo già conosciuto Erik e Shayla, i protagonisti di False security, secondo volume della Rogue security and investigation.
Li avevamo lasciati ai ferri corti dopo un primo appuntamento al buio organizzato da Carrie, conoscente di entrambi.
Per fortuna torniamo indietro nella storia e li seguiamo fin dal primo appuntamento.
La storia narrata è abbastanza comune, con due ragazzi che si vogliono conoscere e cercare di costruire qualcosa insieme. Purtroppo anche la parte dell’ex marito si sente spesso al telegiornale, ma devo dire che l’autrice l’ha affrontata bene, restando tuttavia sul non troppo pesante.

This hero was really unlikeable. I didn’t really care for him even at the end. Took him nearly the whole book to admit he wants her as more than sex. I like my heroes alpha and I like them to know what they want not the back and forth crap. I do enjoy this authors writing so I will try the next in the series as I did enjoy book 1.

another amazing addition to this great series!! One night can change everything and is it for the better or worse...epic date fails and love how the women make the men work for it!! Great action as well as romance! Really looking forward to more!!

Erik and Shayla meet on a blind date and after completely hitting it off, what is supposed to be a one time thing turns into so much more.
This book is filled with a little bit of everything and I really enjoyed it. Looking forward to reading more by this author!!

Some might think I’m biased in writing this review, well they don’t know me at all. I’m not easily swayed.
This is an amazingly written 5 star story. I got to read it a few days after Evan wrote the end so it was not corrected at all. The fact that she managed to give me an amazing story like that shows talent. I basically devoured this story in one sitting. It’s highly addicting and entertaining. It was funny too. I loved Erik arrogant(COCKY) attitude. It started with a bang and never let up.
Full of suspense, romance and hot steamy scenes that will blow up like fireworks on the Fourth of July. There were never dull moments. No unnecessary words to just fill up a page. Everything had a reason to be. Full of twist and turns.
This is the second story in The Rogue Security. Security Breach is the first one. This one could still be read as a standalone but for better enjoyment read them in order. Told in a dual POV with an HEA.
Security Breach will be 0.99c during release week of False Security June 12.

The Hero has such a big ego and is so dislikeable, I am not sure I can finish it.
On their first date, he flirts with waitress while she's there.. Then after seeing her at work and thinking of trying to pursue her this happens....
“Ladies, I would love to, but I can’t. Maybe some other time?” Not likely if I have it my way and can get Shayla to quit blowing me off.
So he's keeping them in reserve... ???
I am not keen on the Hero looking/flirting or being intimate with other women after meeting the heroine.
I'd like to clarify he is only 'with' the heroine but wandering eyes while he gets to know her.... No
I think the idea is to show how much he changes and he does and he is faithful but I wasn't keen.

False Security is only the second book in the Rogue Security and Investigation series, and I'm completely in love with it. The brilliant Evan Grace has brought her A-game to the table with her newest series, and I'm pretty sure I'LL NEVER get enough of it. It all starts with a blind date that didn't start out so well, but ended up as the hottest night of Shayla's life, but her life was too complicated for anything more than one night, so she was gone before Erik woke up the next morning. Little does she know that when she starts her new job, he's one of the men who works there, so more complications pile up, as neither can get that night out of their heads. But Shayla has a past that is catching up to her, causing her to fight the attraction, while Erik is just as determined to make her his. This story was another page turner that I couldn't finish fast enough, then want more badly. Shayla was something else, and while I loved me some Erik, he was kind of douchey on that first date, and she should have junk punched him. And his inner monologue didn't help his case with me either. I won't argue that their chemistry was off the charts HOT, which led to super sexy times that lit the sheets on FIRE! And that entertaining cast of secondaries were awesome, especially Grant & Gretchen. Ms. Grace wrote about subjects that brought out all the feels for me, as they were emotional in big ways. And I can't forget that some big twists at the big finale, one I saw coming, and another I didn't, but both had me dropping the big f-bombs. I cannot wait for the next book in this series, and HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

This is the second book in the Rogue Security and Investigation Series and I loved it!! But I never had my doubts, Evan Grace is one of my go to favorite authors. Her writing is top notch. From the first page to the last I was totally drawn in to this story. And I never wanted it to end, and those epilogues!!!! Those just made me hungry for more! These books give so much more than romance, they give you suspense, mystery and action. On top of some sexy Alpha- hot men who take care of the women in their lives. So you really couldn’t want for more in a book. I don’t want to give to much away because this is definitely one of those books you need to learn everything from the book itself but y’all need to read this book. Shayla and Erik’s story picks up close to where the first book leaves off but they have individual storylines. If you haven’t read the first book yet, this one does give somethings away so I recommend reading them in order but you do not have to.

5 Stars!
Gotta love Evan Grace and her way to weave a douchy-knows he's hot shit guy into one I was rooting for by mid point in this book and swooning for by the end. But alas she did it with ease and delivered one hell of a romance y'all, that left me smiling big and swooning a while heck of a lot for this sweet family.
False Security is the second standalone in the Rogue Security and Investigation series and what a journey this was. Sexy. Fun. Suspenseful. Sweet. Emotional. Heartwarming at moments. And completely addicting in every way there was with these two. Shayla and Erik told a complicated, intricate, deep, meaningful tale that wove around my heart and left me wanting so much more.
A blind date gone and maybe hook up was all it was supposed to be until she flips the script on him, leaving him wanting more. Then everything changes when they are pushed back together. One thing is certain...neither will ever be the same again.
He's not my typical go to hero yet i couldn't have been more of a fan of him. She was a stronger than she thought, kick ass, admirable chick that he needed in his life. Together they were undeniable and magnetic, even when I wanted to smack the at times way to brutally honest Erik.
This series..it'll keep you on your toes and I'm anxiously awaiting the next.

But alas she did it with ease and delivered one hell of a romance y'all, that left me smiling big and swooning a while heck of a lot for this sweet family.
False Security is the second standalone in the Rogue Security and Investigation series and what a journey this was. Sexy. Fun. Suspenseful. Sweet. Emotional. Heartwarming at moments. And completely addicting in every way there was with these two. Shayla and Erik told a complicated, intricate, deep, meaningful tale that wove around my heart and left me wanting so much more.
A blind date gone and maybe hook up was all it was supposed to be until she flips the script on him, leaving him wanting more. Then everything changes when they are pushed back together. One thing is certain...neither will ever be the same again.
He's not my typical go to hero yet i couldn't have been more of a fan of him. She was a stronger than she thought, kick ass, admirable chick that he needed in his life. Together they were undeniable and magnetic, even when I wanted to smack the at times way to brutally honest Erik.
This series..it'll keep you on your toes and I'm anxiously awaiting the next.

Suspenseful and emotional!
Could Erik be any more swoon worthy?? He's hella sexy and very alpha. Nothing hotter than a redeemable jack ass who turns you to mush when they are being the sweetest when it comes to kids. Talk about ovary explosion! I'm such a sucker for single parent books and False Security didn't disappoint in the least with Shayla, the single mom of 5 year old Grant. I loved their story from beginning to end. I couldn't get enough of them and the rest of the Rogue Security team.
Both of these characters had great chemistry and just as amazing individually. Shayla was such a strong heroine that definitely gave Erik the good kick in the ass he needed. And let's not leave little Grunt out. You just can't help but fall in love with him. You'll want to jump in the book and squeeze that little boy. The whole crew is just amazing and will want you being part of the team as well.

Amazingly written in dual POV with its own HEA with the perfect epilogue. I can't wait for the next book! This is not one you want to skip out on.

WOW! I wish i could give this book 100 Stars! Every time Evan writes a book i think, she cant get any better then this book right here, then she writes another one and im blown away again.
This book had so many feels! I laughed, i cried, i gritted my teeth in anger for the pain that Shayla and Grunt went thru. This book made me feel like i was trapped in those situations with Shayla and i could feel her pain and dispair. I could feel her fear and helplessness. I could also feel her anger and her steel backbone!
Shayla became an amazingly strong and independent woman who surrounded herself with the best of people. It was clear to anyone that it was Shayla and Grunt versus the world and that Grunt was the center of her world.
Until one fateful night when she met Eric. Mr Ultimate One Night Stand....or so he thought until he met Shayla and found himself wanting more, especially after HE woke up alone wanting more of her! Now Eric doesnt know what to do. He has to find her but has no idea even what her last name is. Until he walks in to work and there she is! Now his plans are to claim her and keep her and Grunt safe forever. Even if he has to spend the rest of his life convincing her that hes worth giving a chance!

Eric is total player…like with a capital P and you might wanna even pop the P when you pronounce it. Dog is another wording you might like to use for him…because friends he is.
Shyla is a single mom raising her son Grant. She is divorced from her abusive ex and looking to start over. Her world revolves around Grant and his revolves around his mom. However, mommas got some itches that need to be scratched so when her friends hooks her up on a blind date, she totally hits it and leaves. This totally floors Eric because he was actually interested in this woman who left.
Eric cannot stop thinking about this woman when he walks into work to see her sitting there as the new employee!! Uhm yeah do ya see where this is going? LOL They are both freaked out over the connection they have but when something from the past comes into play, they have to make some decisions to do this together or be done!!
I loved the story and cant wait for more from this series.

Shayla gets a job recommendation from a friend of hers and fixed up on a date she figured it’s time she got to live a little because it’s been two years since she did anything. When Shayla meets her blind date Eric she knows right away she is out of his league but she didn’t think he would flirt right in front of her.
When Eric meets Shayla he is surprised someone thought they would be perfect for each other because she is the complete opposite. What Eric doesn’t plan on is how Shayla shot down the waitress who was hitting on him or the way she jumped on him when they left the restaurant. Both of them keep thinking about the other so when Shayla becomes the new employee at Rogue Security they couldn’t be happier, the only problem is that Shayla isn’t ready to share her past just yet.
As Shayla and Eric get closer so does the danger she has yet to share with him but she better start talking before the danger takes everything away from them. I loved this story and how wrapped up in their lives you become and how tough Shayla was when she needed to be no matter what.

First I have to say I love how this book was written with the timeline overlapping book one.
As for the story....it was great. I loved seeing Erik grow into the man he was meant to be. Let's face it, if you judged the man by the first date he would never make it in book-boyfriend world. He's my kind of guy all alpha when he needed to be but was great in showing his gentler side with Gretchen and Grunt. Shayla was doing the best she could and actually doing a pretty darn good job. When she agreed to the blind date, she just wanted to "dust off some cobwebs". When the two see each other again you just know there is going to be some push/pull and the more we learn of Shayla's life, the more we can understand why.
This was a great read and I loved all of the characters - even the secondary ones.

Wowzers! Evan Grace has done it again. I thoroughly enjoyed this story of Shayla and Erik's love story. It was a breath of fresh air. This story had everything from love, to suspense and everything in between. I couldn't get enough. Shayla being a single mom after fleeing her abusive ex. After living on her own with her son, she gets setup on a blind date with an arrogant cocky jerk. Little and behold that arrogant cocky jerk steals her heart and makes her fall in love with him. And not only does he earn her love and affection he also won over her 5 year old son Grant's as well. This story was beyond sweet, it melted my heart. But, it also made me mad when it came to the ex. Either way it was a fantastic read and I can't wait to read more!

Wow!! This book was fantastic!! I absolutely fall in love with the Rogue Security guys with each book. Shayla is a strong broken woman who needs a stronger man to heal her. The arrogance & flirty way Erik is was written in a perfect way to bring out Shayla’s sassiness! The sweet, sexiness of this story was perfect, not over the top. The chemistry was beautifully written & was felt between these 2 as u read. I didn’t love how Shayla thought she was not good enough or that she was weak bc if what happens to her. She is so much stronger than she realizes. I am so sad to see this story end, but can’t wait for more in this series.

I loved Erik and Shayla's story. This was my first read by this author. I went into this story blind, cause I thought that it was gonna be another funny as he*l blind date book. Well I was soo wrong but definitely not disappoint.
Shayla has been single for about 2 yrs when she is set up on a blind date with Erik. They expected a one night stand and to go their separate ways. Shayla leaves and never expects to see Erik again but she starts a new temp job where Erik works and it just goes from there.
There are quite a few twists and turns in this book that had me gripping the edge of my seat for awhile. This book was soo soo good. I think everyone needs to read it because it's about over coming the fear the past has out into you.
