**This first edition version of The Way of Love, published in early 2018, is out of print. Updated editions are available.** There is no fear in love. But we live in fear of loss, and the fear that we are failures, and the fear that others might fail us. So then. . . do we know Love? Enter the Way of Yeshua and discover a living, breathing journey that all are invited to take during this life. The journey from fear to love; the journey from blindness to sight. The journey from darkness to light. This is our to see and awaken to the light and so love as He loves. This is our to walk in the light of true love rather than darkness. Only in true love can we find peace during this life.
Ted Dekker is known for novels that combine adrenaline-laced stories with unexpected plot twists, unforgettable characters, and incredible confrontations between good and evil. Ted lives in Austin with his wife LeeAnn and their four children.
I did not grow up in church, but I had an encounter with Jesus/God that changed my life in an instant. I found a church and began studying the Bible but there were numerous things that puzzled me and did not align in my brain. To me the Bible can be summed up to "Love" . I believe that Dekker provided the articulation to my own thoughts and walk through the scripture.
This is not an easy study/meditation - it is challenging and I might not agree on every point but the fact of his questions and practices that are in each meditation push the walls of your brain.
My mother passed away during this study/read and the words on suffering, taken from the Bible gave me a comfort that the Church had not been able to provide.
Dekker is doing a 21 day challenge starting January 2, 2019 and intend on doing that and going through the entire book again, along with "The Forgotten Way".
This book is meant to be read in a daily devotion format. It’s a very challenging and thought-provoking read and meditation on what it means to find freedom in Christ, and live in the Kingdom now. If you enter in to the The Way of Love with a humble and teachable spirit, you will gain a better understanding of who God created you to be, and how he intended you to live from the beginning of time. I would not necessarily recommend this for just anybody, nor did I agree with everything said. I do think this book offers more truth than not. That being said, I will read and meditate over these Kingdom principles again. I spent 2-3 days pondering just one chapter at times, and then journaling what God was saying to me personally. I gained new levels of freedom while doing the practices. Ted Deker brings fresh, new insight to familiar scriptures. I gave it a 4 star rating only because I felt the author didn’t clearly integrate how our soul factors into the Way of Love. More attention is placed on our body and spirit. I confess, however, I didn’t read the Prequel: The Forgotten Way.
