I’m Charlotte Lear, and as much as I’d love to believe being a werewolf invites trouble, I’m starting to wonder if it’s just me. I may have accidentally on purpose borrowed a book from a faerie without her permission. Now I’m stuck doing her a favor to pay back my debt: trying to track down a rare, impossible-to-find book before time runs out and the faerie gets to claim my life as her own.
While I struggle to hunt down the book in question, my roommate and fellow werewolf Raff is busy trying to keep our wolf pack from imploding. With the full moon approaching and everything in chaos, can I appease the angry faerie and be there to support Raff as he vies for the position of pack Alpha, or will I be so indebted to a faerie that I never get to do anything but favors for her again?
Moon Bound is Book 3 of The Reluctant Werewolf Chronicles, a humorous urban fantasy series with elements of suspense and romance.
Tori Centanni is a nerd girl and a recovering goth. She likes dark, quirky stories with elements of humor. When not reading or writing, she can be found baking, watching too much television, and wrangling cats. She lives in the Pacific Northwest.
Really enjoyed this last installment in Centanni's Reluctant Werewolf Chronicles. Though this was a shorter read, it was heavy on action and intrigue. I'm sad to come to the conclusion of this series, but it was a fun and satisfying journey.
I was skeptical about this entire series because the main character was SO immature and constantly read like a YA protagonist. I still think that.
I also only read this one because I was only interested in Raf and his relationship with the main character (which also felt very YA) but he was HRADLY even in the book at all! Even though the entire main issue is him fighting the Portland Pack's alpha for the position of alpha!
I gave up half way through because he wasn't in the novel at all, and the main character was willfully ignorant of anything that didn't concern her. She borrowed a book and never returned it and now must do penance? Seriously? She technically could have gotten out of that and even thinks it at a point but doesn't even try to fight the "probation." And then she goes off on an adventure pretty much by herself. And that it was just boring.
I won't finish this novel and probably won't read anything from the author anymore.
It's okay to have a novel that's mostly adventure and fantasy, and just have "a smidge" of romance, but there's practically none in this series. I feel like if she had focused more on romance than this dull "adventure" the main character was constantly going off on alone--it would have made a more compelling and interesting novel.
As it goes, the main character is a bore and immature, so a book that is pretty much just about her wasn't interesting enough for me to finish it.
