“I’m your man, and you’re the only girl me.” With these words, a city boy endeavored with all that was in him to pursue and win the heart of a country girl. An independent girl who didn’t need a man. A tree farm girl.
He made her laugh. She made him think. He drew her out from her secure, solitary shell. She made him want to be a better man.
This is the unlikely story of how two people from very different backgrounds met, became fast friends, and ultimately joined their lives into one. As love stories go, it's a good one. And it's all true.
This book was beautiful. In this true love story, Ernesto tells the story of how he met the love of his life, Angie. His tree farm girl. Throughout this short story, we follow Ernesto and Angie’s love story; how they met, the progression of their relationship, the journey it took to get where they are today, trials and tribulations, and lots and lots of faith and patience along the way. Not only do we get Ernesto and Angie’s love story, but we get a glimpse into their individual love stories with Christ. I loved reading about Ernesto and Angie’s story. Apart from the obvious beauty of this book, I was obsessed with the literature snuck in as well. Throughout this book were quotes from my good friends Whitman and Jane Austen. I’m a lover of literature, especially Modern American Literature, so seeing Ernesto and Angie’s common love for literature was a sweet treat. Ernesto, at one point in this book, even compares his beloved Angie to Jane Eyre. Yes.. Jane Eyre. Jealous.
Read this book and let Ernesto and Angie's love story be a blessing to you like it was to me!!
