Pine Island, Florida, has a reputation for being a sleepy fishing town, not a coastal waterway for drug dealers.

So when a plane loaded with cocaine crashes into an iconic pier, the locals begin to wonder if any other secrets are about to fall out of the sky.

Fresh off an exemplary career with the CIA, Ellie O'Conner has landed into a new venture with the DEA, and things are off to a blazing start.

But while Ellie secretly struggles with new information unfolding about her family, she tries to unravel the truth, wherever it leads.

And truth often rides in on the back of a lie.

Jack Hardin currently lives in Arlington, TX, with his stunning wife and five kids. He grew up in an Army family and spent half his childhood living in Germany, traveling all over Europe prior to the fall of the Iron Curtain. At nine years old he walked through Checkpoint Charlie and into East Berlin just one year before the Berlin Wall came down. He holds a 2nd degree black belt in Taekwondo, is proficient with bo staff and nunchucks, and has taught women's self-defense.

Those alone do not make him awesome, but it all sounds really cool.

You’ll find Jack’s books to be in the same vein as Wayne Stinnett, Dawn Lee McKenna, and Randy Wayne White. In other words...dig in...you’re about to be seriously entertained.

Jack is driven by grace, the bedrock of his Christian faith. Shoot him an email and let him know what you think of his books. Or to give him your opinion of the moon landing, or whether or not you think it's a sin to squeeze the toothpaste tube from the middle.

Jack Hardin is a new author to me. Took a try with the installment prior to this book and I am hooked. No doubt about it. Looking for the next adventure with Ellie and Garrett. I know the area in the novels, both by land with my motorcycle and on the water when I had my Hans Christian. Now I do my travel and adventures from an armchair with the kind assistance of good authors like Jack. Give his offerings a chance, you will not be sorry. -30-

I'll get to the book in a minute, but first a bit of advice. Keep your eye on Jack Hardin, he's going to be big. (No, I'm not related to him, and have never met him.) Without spoiling anything, I'll just say that he caught me so off guard in the last five pages of this book. Subtlety should be his middle name. Remember these five words: "How did I miss that?"

Shallow breeze started off half throttle, and by the end had the afterburners fully kicked in. I know that Jack took some heat for the first book 'not having an ending.' Newsflash: cliffhangers are just fine in a SERIES, ESPECIALLY when they are well written. With this book, Jack has proven that he's great at writing them! I'm looking forward to his third book, but not so much to the fourth, because this is a series I'm going to hate to see come to an end.

Well done, Jack Hardin!

This is certainly an addictive series, as I cannot believe how very well each and every episode episode is so spontaneous and exciting. The author does an outstanding job of maintaining my undivided attention from beginning to end. I am a new member of the Jack Hardin club but I am definitely hooked on the first two masterpieces in the Ellie O'Conner series, spread purchased volume three. Tons of mystery, espionage, romance and surprise discovery.

The never ending excitement and dramatics certainly makes this story five star worthy. The author does an excellent job of his character selection and he is definitely very thorough in his descriptive researching. I am impressed with the camaraderie of the good guys and there is just enough slip of the tongue to motivate my undivided attention.
The storylines always perfectly descriptive of what to expect next, but still not reveal the true meaning of what the author's apparent intent is. I am definitely impressed with the author's omnipresent situations and every episode is definitely an excellent example of his outstanding knowledge he so vividly describes. Everyone do yourselves a favor by reading this heartwarming and adventurous series of spectacular travels through the author's apparent intent to satisfy your every whim! I, for one, am definitely impressed with each and every new adventurous episode that Ellie empowers to happen. You will be the loser if you don't!

Book two of what is designed to be a four book story. The author has done his job very well and got me hooked on his tale. At least he was up front in my Kindle edition about it being a continuing story.

Part time DEA consultant is still on the trail of the drug crew was responsible for the death of her high school friend's son. This installment also ends with a semi cliff hanger. It certainly qualifies as an incentive to read the next volume as see where this story is going. Plenty of clues, but are they red herrings?

As they used to say on the radio serials, "Tune in next week, same time, same station to find the answers."

Stunning.

I can't wait to read what comes next for Ellie. This book kept me reading all day until I finished it. The teaser about Major will make me crazy for the next 4 days when the next book becomes available. So hurry up and make it available. I am a resident of Florida's West Coast, and because of that the impact t on drugs that you share in your books is very enlightening. I hope we have some solid DEA agents on the ground here because the drug situation needs to be brought under control. Thank you for the enlightenment.

I had some doubts about the first book, but I liked Ellie and it left many unanswered questions. Unfortunately although there is a sort of conclusion to part of the story, I didn’t really like this book, although I still liked Ellie.

This story jumps around a lot and for me, spends too much time concentrating on the criminal element in the story. It doesn’t help that the author introduces new characters, often providing extensive details and then kills them.

Finally the implications of the last page were just ridiculous.

In Book 2 of the series, Ellie O’Connor is again at the top of her form helping the DEA search out drug runners and kingpins. She goes undercover to trap a suspect into giving himself away, but then she ends up tracking him down along with two cohorts. Her resolve is again refreshed to find the killer of a young boy, but is she closer to the leader than she imagines? She and her team will stay in the hunt with new vigor in Book 3.

Can’t wait to read the next one

Love this series. Great characters. Lots of description. Moves along very well. The scenes are vividly described. It leads you to believe the author has been there and done it. I also enjoy that there are twists and turns, some you can figure out, some that are a shocker. Can’t wait to read the next one.

Wow I did not expect the ending

What a twist of the plot was presented on the last pages. A total curve ball was thrown when a fastball was expected. Cannot wait for the next in the series.

Reading continuing stories

I have now completed the second book in a series of three and find it offers on going excitement. The second books reads even faster with a bit more action. I am continuing on to the third and ending story.

Shallow breeze

She must be a muscular beauty about 6 feet tall to do all the things she does but it's a good read and easy to enjoy.

I liked this book. It had a hook to read book 3 but actually tied up loose ends from book 1.
