This book was recommended to me by my tutor. It is structured to help those wanting to take the standardized European level exams that are used throughout the EU. This particular level is for B1 and B2. It's quite good, though I do agree with one reviewer that there are a lot of exercises in each chapter. However, the exercises are well structured. The more exercises you do, the more you learn. I just decided to take it slower as the book progressed and the exercises got harder.

I particularly liked the way the grammar was structured and presented. After completing this book, I can see a significant improvement in my language skills both oral and written. I also feel a great sense of accomplishment. This book is definitely not for the casual learner or for the self learner. But, it is excellent and probably one of the better ones out there.

Finally finished!

finally Scotty Star Trek

I learned a lot and reviewed a lot I already knew. All in all, this textbook is good but not great. The only reason I purchased it was that my Greek tutor required it for our lessons together. Otherwise, I would have just continued with other textbooks I already had.

What prevents it from being great in my opinion is that the chapters are too long, which leads to boredom and frustration. There are also some minor issues of editing mistakes in the answer key - and even one in the accompanying audio CD, where the last track is labeled chapter 19 but is really for chapter 20 (as there is no audio exercise in chapter 19 whatsoever). There aren't an enormous amount of errors, luckily.

This book will serve you better if you're taking Greek in a classroom setting, as there are a lot of exercises that require talking to classmates and roleplaying. If you're a solo learner, expect to skip roughly a quarter to a third of the exercises in each chapter for this reason.
