Survive the Fall was the first book I've experienced by Julia Bright. What I liked about it most was that it was different from any other "military guy leaves the army and starts his own security business" book I've read - and trust me I've read quite a few. I loved that as a reader I got to be there when the idea of doing something good and helpful formed for the first time in the back of the characters' minds. It was great to see how this idea took root and started to build up from the ground with the potential to grow to something really noble. I liked the characters, the passion they showed in anything they did, be it mending fences on a ranch or investigating bad guys. I loved their communication, there wasn't unnecessary drama but openness and honesty. Kelsey and Adam had great chemistry and even though they started out as a nameless one night stand fate had other plans for them. Fortunately.
I loved Jill Smith's narration. She did a superb job. I loved her voices. I enjoyed how clear she sounded and the high quality of the recording. She brought the characters to life and made a good story even better.

This book is about a woman who was devastated by the loss of her father and brother in a terrorist attack. She decides to get revenge by killing the terrorist herself and is able to get able from an ex-Army Ranger. There are great sex scenes as these two fall in love and attempt to fulfill her goal, along with a lot of suspenseful events such as vandalism on her ranch, storms (even a tornado), pressure from the FBI, and an attempt to rescue a young girl from being involved in human trafficking. The book is a great type of intro to a series if that is what the author plans. I highly recommend this book.

I received the book in kindle for the review i did read it and now posted
The book start with Kelsey she came home to grandpa place to go to the funeral of the dad and brother .What happen her brother was over sea check out the arts and sights and then wham her dad and her brother was killed and now what am i going to do only grandpa left every body gone, You see i am computer geek and i will find
out who did this and make them pay.
But i need a couple of drinks yes i said it i need to for get what going to happen the net couple of days but i was in the bar and then i found a guy walking me to the hotel he hot as hell,
Well Adam did not want a one night stand but she is a knock out you see i was over sea and seen my buddies killed and i came home because i could not handle it i have PSTD and that hit a lot of guys and gals when they come from
the front line.
I am between jobs i do not have a place for say i do what i can to survive on the out side and i will do most jobs but the one i like the best was with Angle she was hot and sexy and we had a great sex and i did not want to stop at the
one night stand but we have to see for sure if we can do it again.

got ate and then the people got there container that way i did not have to worry about them coming to the house,
well i quit my job i was all so semi hacker you see grand dad was rich i have the farm and then the land was mine and now what am i going to do i sold most of the stuff grand had he had stores and apt building and then other property and then i keep the money ,

Kelsey’s brother and father was traveling in Italy when they were killed by a terrorist attack. She goes to bar to pick up a man to wash away her grieve for a night. They never exchanged names just a night to forget everything. It was unforgettable night for both yet she had to leave.
When Kelsey thought she was done grieving, her grandfather commits suicide and leaves everything to Kelsey. She lost all her family within a week. Now she has one goal in her life. Find the terrorist who took her family away.
Kelsey’s computer background served her well when she finds who order the hit in Italy. She plans everything carefully and all she needs is security. Kelsey asks one of her good friends in the town and she gets a call. She never imagined her one night stand will be her security.
Adam lost most of his buddies at his last mission and suffering from PTSD. He is wondering place to place to work and he kept wondering about The girl,his one night stand at Wyoming. When he is back in Wyoming hoping to find her again, he gets an opportunity to earn big money.
When Adam and Kelsey see each other, Kelsey wanted her identity hidden but that didn’t last long.. Now they are both heading to Algeria to revenge her family’s death. Kelsey didn’t reveal her final destination and she didn’t want to bring Adam. But that deter Adam from following her stealthily.
Now mission accomplish and back at home but Adam wants to be closer to Kelsey.
Story moved fast but felt it was missing some details and tends to go lots of different directions at once. I did enjoy the story towards end when they were setting for Agency. I would try next book just to see how the story lays out for his buddy.

Kelsey has just lost her father and brother in a terrorist attack, while vacationing in Europe. In an attempt to bury her grief, Kelsey goes to a bar and has a one night stand with a guy she calls Brick. As if her life wasn't tanking enough, her grandfather...the only living relative left...dies the week of the funeral for her father and brother. Kelsey resolves to get revenge on the man who planned the attack, and now she has resources since it turns out the her grandfather was wealthy. Using her technology background, Kelsey has tracked down the terrorist master mind and has made plans to travel to Algeria to take him out. She needs to hire a bodyguard to travel to the country where women do not travel alone. Her security guy is none other than her one night stand...Adam aka Brick. The pair travel to Algeria, where Adam ends up committing the act for Kelsey. Upon returning to the USA, the pair begin to explore the mutual attraction. However, it appears that someone is sabotaging Kelsey's ranch. In addition, an FBI agent appears to suspect Kelsey and Adam's involvement in the terrorist's murder. This book is jam packed with action, as well as hot, steamy moments. Kelsey, Adam and one of Adam's former military buddies agree to create an agency of sorts, to help fight crime. This is a great beginning to the series.

Survive the Fall is everything I love in a listen. It's romantic suspense, well developed characters and just enough steam! This is my first book by Julia Bright, and I hope it is not my last! Kelsey has just lost all of her loved ones, and seeks refuge in a one night stand. Adam is trying to adjust to civilian life after serving his country and dealing with PTSD. This unlikely couple meets and the chemistry is off the charts. When Kelsey begins a trek on a dangerous journey, Adam turns up to keep her safe. Will he be able to or is she in over her head? This story has so many great elements packed into it. Both characters are intense and interesting, but have deep flaws. I love that in a story, not having perfection always makes the story more real. Their mission is one we can all relate to, and as the story unfolds, and we meet different characters, it's hard to know who to trust and who is not. It's extremely well thought out, very suspenseful and full of romance and passion.
Jill Smith delivers a wonderful narration for this story. Her voice is one I could listen to regularly, with easy to distinguish voices, the perfect pacing and the inflection of fear, determination and love that is evident just from her performance. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to the next in the Dark Eagle series.

After being given the devasting news that her father and her brother have been killed in a terrorist attack in italy. Kelsey is On her way back to the family ranch. Stopping to drown out her grieve. She picks up a stranger in a bar.
Adam has recently left the military after a mission gone wrong left his best friend dead, Adam is unsure what his next move should be.
Sleeping with a beautiful strange wasn't in the plans. But for one night both needed to find solace in each other.
After burying her Father and brother Kelsey, recieves another blow when her last remaining family her grandfather passes suddenly. Alone Kelsey seeks revenge after minths of searching.
She finds the one responsible. And devises a plan to kill him.
Knowing she needs a bodyguard she puts out fillers. And is contacted by a source. She arranges a meet and is surprise to see her one night stranger.
What will happen when they find out the target is some one everyone is after but have not been able to track down.
A really good read with both character having to coming to terms with losses and their attractions to each other looking forward to reading Jackson's story.

I volunteered to read this ARC for an honest review. I enjoyed this story about two lost souls who find a purpose with each other. He's damages and she's hurting. Finding comfort in the other's arms even for a night leaves them both wanting more, but neither gets the other's name. Kelsey's dad and brother are killed in a terrorist attack in Italy, so she is coming home for the funeral. In the way to get Grandpa's ranch in Wyoming, only to find a break from all the nose in her head in the arms of Brick, a one night stand. Adam see Angel and wants to protect her, he is reeling from losing several of his buddies in a bomb attack. Fast forward a few months and their pass cross again. She has now lost her Grandpa to and wants revenge, do she needs to hire some ice e to help her. After the referral of a neighbor, she sees Brick again. Telling him it's only a job they start on a very dangerous journey to Algiers to kill the terrorist who ordered and paid for the attacks both on her family and his friends. Follow them as they face death, a tornado, conspirators, FBI agents and more enemies they can shake a stick at. Great characters that build a page turning experience.

Another Great Book from Cherrylilly, though my first under Julia Bright. There's a little bit of everything in Survive The Fall.
We meet 2 desperately heart broken strangers. Computer expert Kelsey (Angel) & ex Ranger Adam (Brick). She due to sudden deaths of her Dad & Brother & his from the explosion that killed his best mate & other comrades. They both decide to not know who they are but enjoy each other to help get rid of these 'ghosts' even if it's only for a few hours.
Neither can forget about each other, though unexpectedly as Kelsey wants to avenge her father & brother's deaths, she goes out seeking someone to be her 'bodyguard' & that someone will be the stranger in town, no other than 'Brick'.
So here we see what & how things come about & see if it was the alcohol OR if there's a connection between these 2 lost souls. As it seems the person Kel wants to take the revenge on is also the same one Adam to. They're kindred spirits really & when fate comes along there's nothing that can be done. Great storyline & characters

I thoroughly enjoyed “Survive The Fall”, the story is well written and well told, it captures your attention right from the start to the very end. The storylines are interesting and original with lots drama, action, suspense and romance. The lead characters, Kelsey and Adam are broken from loss and PTSD. I liked the chemistry between the two, their 1st encounter was hot. I liked Adam’s protective nature and Kelsey’s determination for revenge. Great plotting by the author, if only revenge in real life could work out as their operation did. This is a great start to a series, they make a great team. I am looking forward to Jackson’s story, love his personality and sense of humor. Julia Bright, thank you for the great story.
I listened to the Audible edition, Jill Smith does a terrific job narrating and telling the story. She brings the characters to life and entertains the listeners. Thank you for the great listen.

Adam is a returned serviceman who is suffering flashbacks from his time in war and he is looking for a bit of payback too !!
He meets a sexy siren who wants a one night stand to forget at least for a short time what she plans to do...…. but as you know not everything goes to plan ….. This is all I am going to divulge to you as the story is really great and I know that if I continue with details I would somehow give to much away so GRAB the book a glass of the good stuff lock the door and READ, READ, READ !!!

Kelsey enlists the help of Adam an ex Army Ranger with whom she shares the same goal......Revenge.

A really exciting suspenseful, action romance. Kelsey is going to get revenge for her brother and father who were killed by a terrorist and caused her grandfather to commit suicide. While trying to drink her grief away she ended up meeting Adam and had a hot an amazing hot steamy time. Leaving the next morning. Adam an ex ranger suffering PTSD losing his best friend and other comrades seems to be wanting the same terrorists. I enjoyed their journey when fate intercepted and brought them together to their surprise as her security protector.

I loved this book. I’d definitely give it 5+ stars if I could. It was very well written and captivated me from beginning to end. The story flowed smoothly with logical stages. The characters and their stories were unique and interesting. This author wrote in a way that had me watching a movie in my head rather than just reading a series of words. I’ll absolutely be on the lookout for more wonderful stories from this author.

This brilliantly written story had me hooked right from the start, as Kelsey is torn apart after the death of her Father and Brother through a Terrorist attack in Florence. Trying to dull the ache in her heart she hooks up with a rough looking Man in a local bar, for a night of hot sex. Two strangers both struggling with pain through a simular place, have an instant connection.
Wow... this was such a great story, that had me flicking through the pages. I will be picking up book 2 so I can see what happens next.....

WOW!! I was not expecting such a great book. I love it!! the suspense written in this book is good, the connection the characters have is brought together well and the story was wonderfully written. I really can't wait to see what else this author writes next I believe I just found my next favorite author.

Kelsey's out for revenge against those that killed her father and brother in Italy. Her grandfather commits suicide and leaves the Wyoming ranch to her. She meets Adam and has what she thinks is a one night stand only to find he's to be her backup on her mission to get those who killed her family. Can these 2 get together when all is said and done? Read this exciting adventure romance to find out.

This was my first Julia Bright's book. This is the first book in the Dark Eagle Series. This is a great Romantic Suspense. I loved to follow Kelsey and Adam in their journey. They share an instant attraction and a great and beautiful chemistry. The storyline is suspenseful and captivating. I can't wait for the next book in the Series. Jill Smith did a great job with the narration. I received this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily written this review.

I enjoyed this intense and suspenseful read. A powerful storyline that is filled with drama, passion, anger, grief, action, romance and vengeance. The chemistry between Kelsey and Adam just sizzles and it is so easy to connect with Kelsey's thirst for revenge for her family. This is a very engaging and entertaining read. This is my totally voluntary, honest review.

First off, this needs to be proofread, grammar and spelling mistakes and people's names changing made it hard to read in places. For me, the book went off in so many directions I wasn't really sure what sort of book I was reading. I liked Adam but found it harder to connect to the others, all in all a confusing read for me. I am voluntarily leaving this honest review after receiving an ARC.

The first book in a new series called Dark Eagle and I know I want the next book to read. There is suspense, drama, danger, kidnapping, two people who get a second chance. A one night stand turns out to become much more than that. The main characters has a lot thrown at them and that makes it a nice read. The drama, danger, mystery, passion, love, chemistry and twist keeps the reader on the edge and makes the story captivating.
Recommendable to others that want a bit more drama in their romances.

This was a great story and was very entertaining. Once I started I couldn't put it down. The chemistry between the hero and heroine is sizzling hot. I would recommend this to anyone that loves a great love story.

I was hooked from page one!!
The story kept taking interesting twists I never anticipated, keeping me guessing what would happen next. There were many insights in the storyline that I found especially interesting. I love Angel and Brick's chemistry and the way in which their unique relationship developed.

Kelsey and Adam are wonderful characters! I like their chemistry and connection! I really like how he wants to find her after meeting her but doesn’t know where to look!! And that he finds her and she has so much happening!!! And the addition of Jackson to their crew... it made for a good book Jill Smith does a good job with the narration!
