I love the plot. I love the characters.
But there was something, that I couldn’t put my finger on, that made me feel like something’s missing.

Rating: 3 Stars.
Storyline: It was a sweet and sexy romance for when you need something fun and low on angst. However, the whole “almost-insta-love” thing got a bit on my nerves as the need for an ultimate grand gesture. Relationships are private things between two people and they don’t need to show the world how amazing and how much in love they are.
Writing Style: Third person. Dual POV. Sweet and engaging.
Character Development: They were both good and had a lot of chemistry. However, Connor insecurities towards the end didn’t go well with me. WTH dude? Guys are supposed to know what they want! (At least in books.)
Steam: HOT!

THREE FOREVER YOURS STARS.

description

Nothing chases away the January blues like a brazen quickie. I love a book that gives me an escape from reality and as far as easy breezy, sexy reads go 'Temporarily yours' hits the mark. This story is written by a new-to-me author and I can assure you that it won't be the last time I pick up a book by Diane Alberts. With a smile on my face and my brazen addiction satisfied for now, here are the rest of my thoughts ...

What's it all about?
Kayla Moriarity feels at home with percentages, probabilities and statistics but when it comes to matters of the heart, this twenty something beauty doesn't quite feel as confident. Her family have always urged her to find 'the one' so when she returns to her hometown for her sisters wedding the distraction of a handsome stranger at the airport may just be the perfect antidote to forget about her pre flight jitters and family obligations. Cooper Shillings can't believe his luck when he comes across the beautiful brunette who just so happens to be boarding the same flight, needing a light distraction from his difficulties after leaving his service as a marine, Cooper fills the role as a knight in shining armour when he agrees to pose as Kayla's pretend boyfriend. Kayla and Cooper are more than happy to agree to a short term agreement that suits them both, but when true feelings start to creep in will this duo risk it all to fall in love or will insecurity and doubt get in the way?

description

What did I love?
What's not to enjoy, this book has the most ridiculously tempting front cover, whoever is responsible, well done you sorted out the men from the boys with that tasty prelude. This book was cute, sexy and easy peasy. It had everything that I like in a light hearted story and it delivered just the right amount of naughty that turned my insides to mush. The characters had a great mix of romantic, giggle worthy and attractive. The author really knows how's to spin a tale of heartfelt and sizzling hot with just the right amount of drama and angst to give this short story a little backbone. I read this book in one sitting, it was no more than a couple of hours reading time and I felt entertained from beginning to end.

description

Why not five?
There is nothing ghastly or unlikeable about this brazen quickie but there were some issues that stopped it from being a full out five star wonder. Firstly the story was very short, although that's not a negative I felt I needed a bit more storyline and time to fall in love with the characters. The attraction and lust was also too much, too soon for my tastes I needed a little more angst and indecision before the couple got to the naughty good bits. From the first moment Kayla and Cooper set dreamy eyes on each other it all happened way to fast and by the time I was settling into enjoying the storyline it was all over. Nevertheless I did enjoy this cute, fluffy, heartfelt story and you will never drag me away from my ongoing brazen addiction.

description

Final thoughts ...
Those that need a quick 'in between' type book this story will hit that fix. You'll find a perfectly predictable storyline with loveable characters that will leave you with that feel good feeling. Go grab it on release day readers, enjoy ... Kisses.

What I Liked:

Even though I'm giving this book three stars, I enjoyed the story. Jen McLaughlin/Diane Alberts is one of my favorite adult contemporary romance authors, and she hasn't really disappointed me yet. While three stars is the lowest rating I've given one of her books, I'm still quite a fan of her and her books, and I'd still recommend any number of them. This one probably wasn't her best - but that's not the worst thing ever (especially since this one was one of her oldest ones).

This is the first book in the addicting Shillings Agency series. We are introduced to Cooper Shillings, an ex-Marine who is on his way to a new job in a private security firm. Awaiting the same flight in the airport is Kayla Moriarty, an actuary with a passion for numbers and being single, who is heading to her little sister's wedding. The problem is that Kayla lied to her parents and told them that she was bringing her "boyfriend"... but she doesn't have one. Cooper, who was sitting with her in the airport, offers to go to the wedding with Kayla. Neither of them are the one-night-stand types, but circumstances and fiery attraction bring them together for one steamy night together... and then another, and another. But Cooper is leaving for his new job overseas - will this fake relationship that is slowly becoming more real have a chance?

Cooper and Kayla meet within the first few pages of the book. Kayla hates flying, and she's very nervous. Cooper sits next to her while they wait to board, and they start talking. Cooper upgrades his ticket to first-class when he sees how nervous she is - so he can sit with her and distract her. This leads to a rather steamy plane ride... and then night at a hotel.

I liked Cooper so much; he's an ex-Marine, but he's 100% an honorable man in uniform regardless. He likes helping people, feeling like he is doing something. He hates failure, especially since his best friend Josh on-duty, and Josh's fiancee was completely crushed. Cooper is haunted by his friend's death. But Cooper is such a sweet guy, even though he hurts inside. He is selfless and considerate, and he's very charming. Like a Southern gentleman!

Kayla IS a Southerner, and she's has nice manners and a sweetness to go with that. She's an actuary, and she loves percentages and statistics. When she's nervous, she babbles and spouts numbers, and it's cute. Kayla is perceptive and sweet, and definitely a good match for Cooper. And vice versa!

While I thought the romance was a little rushed, I totally approved of the hot chemistry between these two. Phew! It built and built, and McLaughlin kept that tension going. In terms of the physical relationship, McLaughlin did not hold back.

As with the other Brazen novels, this book has a nice HEA. I love HEAs, and one of the reasons why I love Brazen books is because of the HEAs. This one pretty good!

What I Did Not Like:

The most important I'm going to say in this section is that this book was entirely too short. Less than 150 pages? It felt like a novella, but it was structured like a novel. The relationship between Cooper and Kayla could have been more developed, especially in terms of the emotional side of things.

That would be the second thing - I didn't really feel convinced of Cooper and Kayla's growing feelings for each other. The chemistry, for sure, that was very well-written. But I didn't really fall in love with Cooper and Kayla falling in love. It didn't really feel like they were falling in love, and that is probably due to the fact that the book was too short. It takes place over like, three days? Very short. I love love and I know it's powerful, but goodness.

I would have liked more detail at the end, as to the logistics of the situation. The story starts with Cooper leaving to go to his new job... the ending, while definitely a HEA, doesn't really give details as to how Cooper and Kayla's life will work. Where will they be living (Maine or North Carolina)? Cooper is doing that job - is Kayla in that location with him? I was a little confused as to how things worked out logistically - though you can assume that they moved in together or something.

And then there was Cooper and his haunted past - I think the author could have gone deeper into his backstory, and she could have done more with his "issue resolution". His character growth in terms of his haunted past wasn't that developed.

Pretty much, the story and the romance could have been better written. Things felt a bit rushed, or just not there. The sexual tension was cooked up really nicely, but I definitely wanted more from the story and the characters.

Would I Recommend It:

I don't know if I'd recommend this book in particular, but I do recommend this particular series. I like McLaughlin's later books in this series - they are more developed, longer, but the romance is still very hot. I also like McLauglin's Sons of Steel Row series!

Rating:

3.5 stars -> rounded down to 3 stars. I didn't love this one, so I can't give it 4 stars (or higher). But I did like it, and I'd still happily recommend this author's books. This series (the books I've read, of the series) has been pretty great!

3 short, steamy and sexy stars

She might think this was the end of their time together, but if he had anything to say about it... it was only the beginning.

It's not secret that I'm a total Brazen junky. Whenever I need a fix for something sexy and steamy, they're my go to books. Add into that me being a fan of Diane Alberts, and I just had to snatch this up. Did I like it? Sure. I got my fix. But I was still left feeling like I wanted more. Guess I'm a greedy hussy that way.

This was a quick and sexy little read about 2 people that meet on a flight, have a scorching affair that shockingly leaves them both feeling like they need more even when neither one was looking for it.

Kayla Moriarity is an actuary that can recite the percentage and probability of something happening at the drop of a hat. Sitting at the airport waiting for her plane to take her to see her family for her sister's wedding, she can't help but feel a little unease. Because while Kayla may be a wiz with numbers, she happens to have 2 teensy weensy little problems; she lied to her family about having a boyfriend so they would get off her back about settling down and she's deathly afraid of flying.

Just a tad.

Cooper Shillings is an ex marine that is adjusting to life after leaving the service due to an event that marked him. Feeling a bit off himself, especially since he's question the new job offer he accepted, he's not looking for permanence himself.

When he spots the beautiful brunette and strikes up a conversation they both may find the answer to their problems. So what happens?

Some mile high action. Some car action. Some hotel action. In short?

I'm not complaining, trust me. It was hot and Cooper definitely didn't disappoint in the dirty talk department.

They get to slake their lust, and Kayla gets a temporary boyfriend to appease her family. It's a win win right? Until feelings get involved...

This was too quick paced for me. I'm not big on the H/h getting together so quickly after meeting. I want to feel the sexual tension, that burn. When it happens too quickly, I find that my interest tends to wane and it was no exception with this one. While it is a novella length and could have easily been a one-sitting read, it took me over 2 days to finish. I kept getting bored and putting it back down. I never really grew invested in the story or the characters.

So in short, this was a cute and sexy read, just not anything I would really go back to.

I couldn't put this book down! It was sweet, funny and sexy as hell.

Temporarily yours is about Kayla and Cooper. They meet at the airport. So it's practically LOVE AT FIRST FLIGHT. Kayla is afraid of flying, so Cooper "sacrifices" himself to help her out....in more than one way....*wink wink*.

She tells him about her sisters wedding and her dilemma about her "fake boyfriend" for her family's sake. One leads to another and Cooper swoops in to help a damsel in distress and ends up at the wedding as her very "real-pretend-boyfriend". And this is where the fun begins.....

3.5 Stars! I want to make Cooper mine...permanently!!

Quick to hop in the sack doesn’t always work for me, but it did in Temporarily Yours. Why? I liked both characters from the get-go, Cooper and Kayla had good chemistry, and I believed and felt their attraction.

I enjoyed how Kayla’s profession played into the story, she was an actuary, and she had stats for everything, but she couldn't bank on how hard she would fall for Cooper. He was so honorable and protective, and sometimes love can beat the odds.

Even though this is a short read, you get a good sense of the character’s personalities and the family drama they are dealing with. It started off with Cooper and Kayla meeting under interesting circumstances, which then escalated to hot rather quickly. Cooper was just doing his duty to calm Kayla and help her get through the flight, so he sort of directed her attention elsewhere...HA! The heated encounters between these two continued throughout the book, and there was a decent story to grab onto, it was well paced and held my attention. There was also an unexpected turn of events involving Cooper that I did not see coming, so bravo to the author. I love a surprise, and it was one that fit into the story and brought something more for the characters to deal with, but didn't create an abundance of angst. It all led to a satisfying ending as the characters came full circle!

This is my second read from Diane Alberts and I find that she has a knack for creating a complete story in a limited amount of pages. If you're looking for a quick, sweet, steamy read, with two endearing characters, then Temporarily Yours is the book for you!

4 Percentages Based, Lustful Happiness, Overcoming Fears Stars * * * *

Sometimes reading can be like a one night stand...you have an itch... you want to get it scratched without any complications...and then enjoy the process. It doesn't have to be deep… it doesn't have to make you contemplate the meaning of life... it just is a little something to get the mental mojo working. You get you the thrill of a meet, chemistry, maybe a little concern and then that satisfying happy ever after.

This book fit my requirements for exactly that. I enjoyed the inta- lust... I was happy with the play of affection and everything fell into place.

We first meet Cooper Shilling, ex Marine on his way to his new job. He is flying to North Carolina to start work in the private sector for a security firm which deploys ex service men back to watch over the troops. He carries guilt of what took place there; a fellow warrior died and he feels responsible. After seeing the impact on the man's family and fiancée, it re enforces his personal vow to not be involved while serving.... no good can ever come of it.

As he makes his way to the boarding area his spy's a pretty woman sitting by herself, with long legs, silky hair, beautiful eyes and kiss-me-please lips. He becomes distracted and a kid sucker punches him causing a fall right where she is sitting.

Kayla sees him fall and reaches out to help him. A conversation takes place with her kind of rambling and being a little flustered. She had seen him; thought he actually had the body and manner of a super hero of some kind; and while joking, it came out of her mouth. Apologizing, she explains her babbling is due to her being scared of flying because as an actuary she knows every statistic concerning everything... and proceeds to quote them all to Cooper.

He thinks it is refreshing and cute. He thinks she is really adorable and in his own way wants to make sure she feels safe on the flight. Turns out she is flying first class.. he sees he go on board... and makes the impulsive decision to upgrade and sit next to her even though he really can't financially afford it. He just has this overwhelming desire to make sure she not alone, frightened on the flight.

During the flight it also comes out Kayla has the additional problem of a family which expects a boyfriend she invented to be with her when she arrives. ..it came about by accident as they will not leave her alone about how she isn't married with kids. She is the big sister with the career, not husband as expected; her younger sister who did everything perfectly is getting married and now she is stuck flying in without said boyfriend.

As the flight proceeds, Cooper is quite taken with her... and figures out how to curb and distract Kayla from her fear... he lays a kiss on her which curls her toes and gets heart pumping. As they both are interested, he continues this talk and sexual distraction during the flight. Desire and logic fight for control and by the end of the flight, Cooper has agreed to be her pretend boyfriend for the wedding weekend and they will part happily after as he is leaving the country the next week.

Perfect for two people who do not wish the complications of a relationship.
She, because all the statistics say the odds are awful and almost impossible, plus she just never has felt that love thing.
Him... perfect because he doesn't want any ties to anyone while he is away. So all of this should be perfect... Right...

Wrong...

The two of them have this chemistry which off the charts... they cannot get enough of each other. It started with them kissing on the plane to distract her... leads to a parking lot encounter and then a hotel room marathon. These two were friggin' of the charts hot.

And of course they both ended up being good for each other...He charmed her family at the pre wedding dinners; she saw through his guilt and showed him how to approach his family.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time with these two...was it deep, meaningful and full of life lessons? Well…it did touch on being strong enough to know who you are and confront those who love you if it is needed.... to make them see you as you see yourself. It also addressed the habit people have of making decisions for others under the umbrella of what is best for them without any consultation.

So, if you are ok with a dose of insta- lust with a dash cute story... this one night stand read will definitely leave you satisfied... it did me.

3.5 Sweet and Sexy Stars ❤

 photo new_zps4acf2937.jpg

Temporarily yours was a sweet, sexy and quick read. Kayla and Cooper meet in an airport lounge area and their attraction is instant. Within a short time both learn that neither one of them is looking for a serious relationship. Kayla has all sorts of statistics that say relationships don’t last and Cooper's life doesn’t allow for one. So after a bit of flirting Cooper finds himself upgrading his ticket to first class so he is able to enjoy his flight to North Carolina sitting next to beautiful and sexy Kayla.

Kayla is flying home to attend her sister’s wedding and though she is looking forward to it, part of her is dreading it too. Not only does she have a fear of flying but she knows seeing her family will cause endless questions about her love life. Kayla decides to make up a fake boyfriend to get her family off her back but after meeting Cooper her plan changes a bit.

Cooper is an ex-marine heading to North Carolina to take on a position at a private security firm. He is the kind of guy that always wants to take care of others and do the right thing. But while Cooper was in the service something happened that has affected him deeply to this day. He has no room in his life for a relationship and has no desire to get involved with anyone. So when he meets Kayla and finds about her fear of flying and fake boyfriend situation he is a bit surprised with his need to help her.

I have to say things got pretty steamy up in the air between Kayla and Cooper. What a guy he is to “distract” her from her fear of flying! But things don’t stop there. On the way to Coopers rental car what was supposed to be a fun dance lesson turns into something sensual and intoxicating!! The sex scene in the back seat of the Escalade was HOT! It really wasn’t what they planned but damn these two couldn’t keep their hands off of each other. Their need and desires win out and they head off to Kayla’s hotel and continue their sexcapade.

Wanting to continue to spend time together Cooper decides he will be Kayla’s “fake” boyfriend. After a night of incredible sex, reality sets in the next day. Kayla and Cooper now have to face her family with all the wedding plans and parties. What happens between Kayla and Cooper is sweet and fun. The chemistry between them continues and I enjoyed them as a couple. Both of them continue to keep up the front of not wanting to get involved even though true feelings are forming. Then Kayla decides to take the risk of being honest about her feelings but things are not so easy for Cooper.

Though I found this a fun and sexy read, I also felt that things just moved a bit too fast for me. Not that I need a long drawn out connection but a little more substance to their story would have been good. If you are looking for a quick love connection, then this would be the perfect read for you.

3.5 Stay With Me Stars!

Kayla is sitting in the airport waiting for her flight, knowing she is going to plummet to her death.

Cooper has taken on a new security job and will be heading overseas soon. He sees Kayla waiting for her flight, the same flight he is on, and next to her is the only empty seat in the area.

After talking, Cooper decides to upgrade his ticket to first class so he can sit by her and help her get through her flight. His "distraction" techniques definitely worked for Kayla. After hearing Kayla's dilemma with her family and her fictional boyfriend, he tells her he will be her fake boyfriend for the weekend to get through her sister's wedding, after all, he has a few days before he ships out so what better way to pass the time than with a beautiful woman who knows the rules and that he is leaving so there will be no chance of anyone getting hurt or left behind.

Through their short time together, they definitely discover they have off the charts chemistry in bed, but there is definitely something else building and their fake relationship isn't so fake anymore. Will Cooper be able to handle leaving someone behind and will Kayla accept being left behind?

This was a quickie with a side of smokin hot. The relationship moves at light year speed, they meet in the airport, give in to explosive orgasms chemistry within 24 hours of meeting, decide to spend a weekend together pretending their in a committed relationship to fool her family, and then after several meaningful orgasms conversations, decide they love each other and want to give this thing between them a shot.

Of course theres some pushing away and a cheesy romantic gesture in the end to win the girl. I wanted a bit more substance, especially when it came to his past and the death of his friend. I felt that was way too easily resolved.

H is 27, h is 25. Neither are virgin and there is no OM/OW drama or cheating. Ends HEA epilogue.

4.5 - "You can use me in any way you desire." ... "Any way. Anywhere. Anytime." Stars!

Temporarily Yours is the first book in the Shillings Agency series, and what an absolute cracker it is too. I absolutely loved both Kayla and Cooper, and their story was one that kept me totally immersed until the very end of the book.

”Are you trying to get me drunk so you can kiss me again?”
“Perhaps” ... “Though, a more accurate description of what I’m trying to accomplish would be to get you drunk enough to forget about the flight, but not so drunk that I’m stuck cleaning vomit off my shoes. It’s a thin line I’m walking here.”

The banter, and the sexy-times between this couple are absolutely top-notch, I found myself giggling on more than one occasion, and I loved that both of them were not afraid to speak their minds or ask for what they wanted in and out of the bedroom.

”I’m not coming in your mouth, damn it, when I come, I’ll be buried so deep in your pussy that you’ll forget what it feels like to not have me inside of you.”

Jen McLaughlin writes the kind of books that I want to read, Temporarily Yours is a prime example of her skills in putting together and delivering a book that offers you the whole spectrum of emotions, with characters that you fall in love with, and storylines that you want more of. I am looking forward to seeing where she takes us with Stealing His Heart, due for release August 2014.

4.5 "Fuck yeah. Let's do this." stars

Temporarily yours was a surprise read, when I requested it from NetGalley i have to be completelly honest and admit that i went for the cover. LOL #sorryNOTsorry

I mean, do i really need to explain myself here...
and honestly all I asked for was a good entertainment BUT what i found in this story - as it starts off as a chance encounter of two people in their late twenties, at the airport, waiting for the same flight, and from there we see a playout of funny banter, sexy seduction and comforting romantic notion though out some vividly familiar and known to life situations – it was so much more and yet it was not enough!

Kayla Moriarty is on her way to her sister's wedding.
Cooper Shillings is an ex-marine heading to his new job as apart of a security company that will include shipping him again out of the country where he would guard his fellow man on foreign territory.
She hates relationships.
I'm not exactly the relationship type. I think they're largely a waste of time.

She works as an actuary and is emerged into percentage and numbers, she's somewhat of a nervous, sexy nerdy chick with sense of humor only Cooper finds matching to his own. She intrigues him.
She was an enigma he longed to figure out.

Their physical connection is palpable and undeniable and them both being reluctant towards the „relationships“, Cooper for obvious reasons, him being shipped into the enemy territory, doesn't want to put another person through hell that may possibly be set upon her, dealing with him being killed, missing or whatever the danger might be looming ahead.
So they both agree to a weekend of pure physical adulation and they clicked like fire and gasoline...
“You don't want a relationship, and neither do I. And I'm leaving the country next week. Some might say our situation is perfect for both of us.

But when Kayla needs to attend the rehearsal dinner for her sister's wedding, her lies of a fake boyfriend to her family backfire at her, when Cooper accepts the challenge and steps into that „fake boyfriend“ role. And then, the time they spend together in the roles they pretend to play, makes them lose focus and the lines fastly become blurred, when the physical fulfillment starts to awaken the feelings...unknown and scary to them.

They start to see each other in a different light, deeper sensual and unnerving emotions of wanting to belong stir more comotion, as Cooper is about to leave...
She wished she could say that they were still pretending when the did intimate things when on one was watching...But she couldn't.

fear will question his decision,
“We're over.

plans will change, abrupted family ties will be established again and amends will be a must do...as would forgivness
“I want you to let me be yours. And I want you to be mine. I just panicked for a second, and I pushed you away. I'm begging you not to do the same thing to me. Don't push me away.“

„Let me stay, Kayla. Give me another chance. Please.“

As their stubborness will choke them from breathing and enjoying in life and in each other,
“I'm sorry Cooper, but I need a man that will face his fears...not run from them. I can't do this. I can't be yours.“

Cooper will eventually stand up for what is worth the most in his life.
"..not just temporarily yours. Forever yours."

"Fuck yeah, Let's do this."

This story was a disclosure of acceptance and being open to chances in love, inner growth and willing to try. The only objection i have, thus rating this lower than 5 stars, is the fact I felt I needed more – more detailed, more constructed, personalized portrayal of the characters, I accepted the insta attraction, the pull and the physical chemistry but I needed more constructive way of their attraction transforming into love - even though we do get to see it in a way I felt it was rushed and there was room for more...

other than that I really enjoyed it, I loved the characters' dialogues, they were so fluently alive and vivid, funny, sexy and vulnerable at times, they felt real and authentic and I always appreciate that...their chemistry was off the charts, so, of course i enjoyed that as well, immensly *wiggle her eyebrows* and yet i felt this bittersweet sensation that I was depraved of something genuine that hadn't had the chance to develop into something majestic!

This was quite a romantic surprise

This was a hot little read. I loved the way Cooper and Kayla met. I like that the hot guy made a fool of himself for once. You always read about the woman going all tongue tied and tripping so this was a nice change. I especially loved Kayla's character. She was a bit nerdy with her random talk of facts but instead of being a shy nerd, she was a confident woman. She was straight up with Cooper. It was very refreshing. Great read! Received an advance reader copy in exchange for a fair review

I liked it, but it bothered me a bit that it was in third person.
But that's personal so don't take it to heart.

It was fast paced, but for this story it was good.
All the things were told and no lose strings.

It was a hell of a lot steamy! And lot's of fun!
It was a great book that I would tell you to read!

I'm a huge fan of author Diane Alberts and I love Entangled's Brazen imprint so of course I couldn't wait to get my hands on a copy of Temporarily Yours. This story is everything you'd expect from this author - hot and steamy with great characters and a believable romance and I absolutely devoured it.

When Kayla and Cooper meet at an airport lounge their attraction is instant even though neither of them is looking for anything serious. Kayla is a nervous flyer and Cooper has a bit of a thing for damsels in distress so he sets out to distract her on their flight, one thing leads to another and before either of them really know what is happening they're getting hot and heavy at in a rental car at the airport. Kayla is flying home to attend her sister's wedding and she is dreading the comments that she is bound to get from family members asking why she is still single. The last thing Kayla wants is the complication of a man in her life but she made up a fake boyfriend to get her parents off her back and now they're expecting him to accompany her to the wedding. After a night of incredible sex Cooper offers to accompany her and pretend to be her boyfriend hoping that a few extra days will help him work her out of his system. There is only one rule - no matter how hot things get between them it is just a fling and they both have to keep their feelings out of it.

I just loved this couple, Kayla is a geek who is obsessed with probabilities and percentages. She can tell you exactly how many relationships fail within the first 2 years or how long most marriages will last and she is determined not to become another statistic. She's an independent woman who is happy with her life, all that she wants is for her family to butt out and leave her in peace and for her sister to be the centre of attention on her wedding day like she deserves. Kayla's obsession with statistics is hilarious, she can quote figures for pretty much any occasion and it was incredibly amusing watching her interactions with Cooper where she throws numbers at him as a self defence mechanism.

Cooper is an ex Marine who is about to start work for a private security firm and is shipping back to Afghanistan in a couple of days. He swore he would never start a relationship and leave a woman at home waiting for him just in case he didn't make it back, he's seen first hand the devastation that can cause and would hate to have someone's heart broken on his account. He has never fully recovered from events that occurred when he was a Marine and has taken the security job because he is trying to make amends for things that were really out of his control. Cooper is the kind of guy who always does what he thinks is right, he puts other people first which I liked about him but he also has a tendency to make decisions for other people without consulting them which does cause a few issues with him and Kayla.

Temporarily Yours is a hot romance, I'll admit that things move very quickly between this couple but in spite of that it never felt rushed. They have such fabulous chemistry (this story really is sizzling!) and I believed they had a strong enough connection to make a relationship work. Both of them are prepared to make compromises and neither of them tries to back the other into a corner. I'm excited that this is the start of a new series and I'll definitely be putting any future releases right at the top of my wish list!

This was a fun, quick, sweet romance when you're just looking for something steamy and fun. There's more sex than substance, which got slightly irritating, and I found myself skimming the abundant sex scenes. I would've liked to have seen more interaction outside the bedroom, but then again, they only had a few days time together. I did like both characters, but would've loved much more development in the relationship.

I had a hard time with this story. Don't get me wrong, it's a decent little story, but it lacked something that would have propelled it into great status. I felt that there was too much deception going on, and not enough actual communication, which made both Cooper and Kayla seem very immature, despite the fact that they were both at or near their 30s. I did like the premise of the story, and some of the situations were rather humorous or utterly romantic, but other parts of it just didn't sit well, like how Kayla wound up overshadowing her sister's entire wedding with her situation and no one really cared about that. I doubt I'll continue the series.

LOVED, LOVED, LOVED Cooper and Kayla! Diane Alberts had me hooked with her sweet, hot, sexy, romantic story TEMPORARILY YOURS right from the start of this book and I enjoyed every single word! Ms. Alberts is a new to me author and OMG did she make a fan out of me!

Let’s start with the adorable, sexy, smokin’ hot, ex-Marine that is Cooper Shillings. He is not just dreamy, but a good guy who stepped right up to be by Kayla’s side and help her. Cooper is one of those guys who just has natural born hero in his DNA. He sees someone hurting or in need and he takes it on as his responsibility to make it right. When he learns Kayla is in need of a “fake” boyfriend to get through the weekend of her sister’s wedding he doesn’t hesitate to step up to be that guy for her. Why not spend the few days he has before heading overseas helping out a beautiful woman who makes his heart race especially when it’s all she wants from him too.

Cooper finds Kayla beautiful and sexy, but he also falls hard for the irresistibly quirky and spunky woman she is. Kayla is intelligent, independent, and with all the statistics floating around in her brain not the kind of woman to hold out much hope for her own happily ever after. She is perfectly happy with her single life, thank you very much. If only her parents and family would understand that about her and stop making her feel like an epic failure to them for not having a man in her life. Thus the fictional boyfriend she now needs to produce and as long as they both know it’s just for the weekend why not indulge in the sweetness and hard-body that is Cooper, right?

Cooper and Kayla meet in the airport waiting for their flight to Charlotte where Kayla is headed for her little sister’s wedding and Cooper is about to start a new security job that is sending him out of the country for an indefinite period and almost immediately. They hit it off right away and with a little maneuvering on Cooper’s part sit next to each other in first class on the plane. Their intense attraction is immediate and impossible for either of them to resist. Let’s just say Cooper goes above and beyond to distract Kayla and keep her mind off her terror of flying. And just when I was calming myself down over the heart-pounding hotness of the scene on the plane, they can’t stop themselves from finishing what they started on the plane when they get to the airport parking lot. That scene just pretty much melted me it was so scorching! From there they spend the night getting to know each other even better before Kayla has to show up the next day at her parents home for the wedding festivities. Despite both of their intentions, fears, and issues with believing they are not at a place in their lives to have a serious relationship, they fall in love. Of course, there are a few bumps and things to resolve on the way, but that just makes the story so much more interesting to read.

Ms. Alberts story flows with witty writing, well-developed and multi-layered characters, funny situations and characters, sad back stories that makes you love Cooper and Kayla even more, and a misunderstanding or two that brought a couple of tears to my eyes when it kept the lovers apart. But mostly it’s just a sweet and very romantic story of two wonderful people meeting the love of their life in the oddest of situations and everything falling into place to give them their HEA. I had a smile on my face and a sigh in my heart the entire time I was reading it. 5 dreamy stars for this fabulous book!

This book was everything I look for in romance books. Wonderfully written, witty, steamy, great strong characters, meaningful, just a little dose of angst and a wonderful HEA. It's also fairly short but it included everything I wanted it to and I didn't want it to end. Yes, they are attracted to each other fairly quickly but I completely accepted it. I just loved this book.

3.5 “Distraction is the best fear therapy” Stars

ARC via NetGalley

Thank you, Entangled Brazen

Let me just say that the beginning of this book reminded me a lot of Jennifer Blackwood’s Landing the Air Marshal, also from Entangled Brazen. In both books, we have a heroine who’s terrified of flying (I can totally relate) and a hero who’s willing to help her through it with, let’s call it, unorthodox methods… meaning, a little bit of sexy times. Not complaining here.

But that’s where the similarities ended.

In “Temporarily Yours”, we have Kayla as the main character. She’s heading to her sister’s wedding and getting ready to face her family and their non-stop questions about her (inexistent) love life. Kayla is single, and she wants to stay that way. She’s busy with her career and comfortable in her own skin. She doesn’t need a man to make her life complete. Go, girl!

Still, her family is always pushing her toward finding a partner, and Kayla is tired of all that. So she comes up with a solution: she pretends to be dating someone. The only problem is having a pretend boyfriend can be really tricky when she needs him to accompany her to the wedding.

Kayla’s lucky girl, though. While she’s freaking out at the airport before boarding her flight—she hates flying about as much as I do—she meets Cooper. He’s traveling on business—in a matter of days, the ex-marine will be traveling overseas for a new job. Cooper and Kayla hit it off and, once he realizes she’s terrified of flying, he upgrades his seat to first class just to sit near her and distract her. Sweet, huh? His distraction methods? Not so sweet.

From there on, Cooper and Kayla start a steamy romance that is meant to last just one night… or a couple of days, when Cooper offers to be her fake boyfriend.

But as Cooper and Kayla get to know each, they start falling in love. Again, sweet. And sexy.

That’s the best way to describe this story. We have a quick read, with likable characters, a famous trope (fake relationship), some tension and a lot of sexy times. We also have sweet moments between Kayla and Cooper as they get closer and realize their feelings for each other aren’t fake at all.

Again, Entangled Brazen managed to deliver on what it promised, because “Temporarily Yours” is a fun and sexy book you can read in a couple of hours and finish it with a smile on your face.

4.5 stars - ARC PROVIDED.

When I received the ARC for "Temporarily Yours," I was not expecting to receive it, and to be honest, it was a really pleasant surprise.
I opened the email with a huge smile and happiness, because I knew that, what I was about to read, I was going to be soaked by red clouds, in heart-shape, pouring MAD LOVE.

It was the most beautiful story I have ever read this year. An unexpected encounter with a hot marine, willing to help a Cinderella in distress. Honestly, who would give that up?, I mean, I LOVE closed encounters on a third degree...Not that Cooper is an alien or anything like that, of course, if he was, he would be THE hottest alien ever existed, and I would move to Mars in a heartbeat...however, this story was more of a first degree encounter.

It was also HOT, like an oven! UFF! Making out with a complete strangers?!?!?! Totally 21st Century...stop, don't judge me...its fiction, and that is exactly what we like about it...we live IN IT for a while...where everything is possible and NO ONE is looking, RIGHT!
Oh and, have I mentioned the FRENCH KISSES....THE LORD! I mean, COME-THE FREAKING-ON! UGH! That was hot. definitely, de-fi-ni-te-ly, after reading this book, I have decided I am going to find my very own 21st century MAN, but, it has to be just like Cooper, if not, I have to keep looking. A pure gentlemen, good heart, loyal, respectful, kind, confident...and the list goes on.

I started the year reading, as usual, about motorcycle clubs, mobs, mafia, and dark stories. This book came precisely, at a moment, when I needed a change of vibe, from blood and guns, to make peace and love.

I have read some other books from Diane Alberts, and her writing is so captivating that while reading any of her books, you always feel the passion and that sentiment of romanticism, that just reminds me of when I have fell in love, with my first love, for the first time.

The best part of this story is "THE MESSAGE"...and you know what that is? Always, always travel in style...you'll never know if you would find your next love at the airport! isn't that right, Kayla?

3.5 (70% worth of) stars

This was a nice, steamy, rapid read about Kayla and Cooper meeting in an airport lounge and then becoming embroiled in a fake life very quickly.

With an immediate visual attraction between both parties, Cooper Schillings (an ex marine) finds himself next to the stunning Kayla Moriarity (an actuary), watching her tremble with her fear of flying. Small talk and distraction sees Kayla through the lounge wait, but what awaits her on the plane is a stiff cocktail and some sleeping pills. Unbeknown to her, Cooper has upgraded so that he is sitting right next to Kayla in First Class.

They had already dipped into a conversation where Kayla had fabricated a boyfriend to appease her family, and this had got Cooper interested. After all, Kayla was heading back to her family for her sister’s wedding, and Cooper had a few days off before he started his new job…

Alcohol + Facing Fears = Mile High fumbles

Playing the fake boyfriend role, we watch how Cooper and Kayla deal with this pseudo relationship, but with real benefits! These were a couple who struggled to keep apart from each other when they were alone.

I enjoyed the storyline, Kayla’s accurate attention to probabilities, Cooper’s cheerful, laid-back disposition, but I felt the story lacked a bit of depth. That could have been because of the length of it, but it didn’t bowl me over.

I'm not gonna sugarcoat - there isn't much that Diane can write that I won't love and this is one of them. Cooper was freaking sizzling off my pages and I couldn't turn the slow enough. Yes, I said slow enough. I read passages over and over, saying hot damn many, many times.
