This book provides an overview of what Augustine taught throughout his life regarding the immortality of the soul. The body of the book discusses both similarities with and differences from Greek philosophical ideas and especially focuses on Augustine's unique contribution to this topic. Much of the discussion is focused on the Christian doctrine of the Resurrection and how this fundamentally changes how Augustine views immortality and the soul. This book also contains two sermons in the Appendix: Sermons 361-362, On the Resurrection of the Dead, I-II.
