Alyssa isn’t completely honest when she answers the ad for a roommate online. True, she needs a place to live, true she’s getting a divorce, true; he’s a cheating jerk. There’s just a little bit more to it than that. So when the ad comes across her screen Indigo City beat cop looking to rent out a fully furnished room… she jumps on it, because what could be safer than living with a cop? Golden isn’t too keen on living with a chick, but after posting online looking for a roommate, he’s found the pickings are slim. The softly spoken brunette doesn’t seem like she’s much trouble, plus she’s got the cash up front, so what the hell? She’ll just have to get over his bringing home badge bunnies from the 10-13. He’s got a stressful job, and the best way to blow off steam, in his estimation, is hot sex. It’s a pressure cooker waiting to blow and it turns out the new roomie has moxie, which gets Golden to thinking, which leads to him feeling. This is either going to be a really good or a really bad idea.
A.J. Downey is a Pacific Northwest girl living in an East Tennessee world who finds inspiration from her surroundings, through the people she meets, and likely as a byproduct of way too much caffeine. She specializes in real and relatable romance stories featuring that real-life kind of love that everyone craves.
Quite a story. Not sure how title of book fits other than Golden is a cop and Lys is a florist. Could of used some better editing. One section had her taking Saturday off and Golden takes her to a distillery and he says Fridays happen to be lighter tour days....huh?
Great Badge of Honor!!!! Holy Hot Police Officer!!! I really, really enjoy this series. It combines some of my favorite genres - MC and Public Safety Officers and together the author creates amazing and exciting stories. This story, HIs Wild Blue Rose is best in series. The author has out done herself with this one.
This is Golden's story. If you have read the past stories (I really hope you do) you might be like me and pondering how the man-whore would ever be able to settle down. I didn't think it was possible.
I am so happy to say that I was wrong, SO very wrong. All it took was Golden wanting to rent out a room for a little extra cash. He didn't want to rent to a woman, but the other prospects just weren't qualified.
Lys needs a safe place. What could be safer than renting from a police officer? She needs a place to regroup. She needs a place she can't be reached that isn't her friend's couch or the woman's shelter. Renting from Golden was a solution that came gift wrapped.
At first it was easy. She avoided him as much as possible. She was just too skittish. But everyone has a breaking point. A roomie can only put up with so many drunk one nightstands. Remember, Golden is a man-whore extraordinaire.
The relationship that begins is what they both need They just didn't know it. It was definitely what I needed in a story. It seemed real. It was so believable. They got to know each other and we got to know them.
The day that he took action against her ex legally was the day he won my heart. It was just the best move ever!!!!!! Then Lys stood by his side when he needed her the most she won my heart. Golden and Lys are by far my favorite couple in the series. They've got this.
What an amazing read. In earlier books of this series, I really didn't like Golden. He was a bit harsh, very much a player. I was pleasantly surprised with how she showed his nature and the willingness to become a better person. She brought out some of his best qualities by pairing him up with Lys. And what a mess Lys was at the beginning. She'd been broken pretty hard and just needed a safe space. Thankfully, Golden had that available, even if it was not exactly what she expected.
I love how Lys grew, evolved, built herself a new life. I love seeing transformation in books, seeing how people become better human beings, simply by interacting with others. Golden brings out the best in Lys, and she does the same for him. If you haven't read the earlier books in this series, I highly recommend you pick them up (my favorite is book 2). You won't want to put them down, and you'll be begging the author to release the next one.

This story is Alyssa and Golden's, Golden one of the sexy twins, Alyssa flower shop owner, victim of Domestic violence. Both fighting their attraction to each other. A story of overcoming circumstances in their lives. Danger, friendships and hot guys. I love this story, there are subjects that can hit close to home at times. This is a very well written, thought out story. I look forward to reading more from this talented Author.
Each of these books have made me so happy that I found A.J. Downey's books. They have awesome heroes and the heroines are not wishy-washy they are strong capable women that stand beside their men and they complement each other. Golden fell for his Lys hard and when he knew he worked to keep her and he did it so well.
I wasn't expecting to get as attached to Golden as I did. Guess I have that in common with Lys. Lol.
If you are looking for action and intense drama; this wouldn't be where you find it. Though the story is no stranger to some darker themes and harsh realities, it is certainly more romance based and that was A-ok with me.
I received an ARC of this book. I have read all of A.J. Disney's books and this has become my favorite! I loved the character interactions and the development of relationships. I will be rereading this one for sure!
Holy cow this series just keeps getting better and better with each book. See in Golden make the change from man ho to a committed man was wonderful. Lys and all she had been through tore me up. I'm so happy Golden was there for her and they get their happily ever after!
Over my many years of reading, there’s been certain story lines „tropes“ that I just don’t enjoy, a playboy, or man*hoe is one I like least. That said, I’m Gaga over Golden, the beginning was a bit iffy but that mans gentle slide into love was so beautifully written I fell right along with Lys.
Another fabulous read I was hoping we would see the softer side of golden and boy did we I loved him a Lys together and how he was so patient with her well written can’t wait to read the next book
I am loving the series! A while ago after reading other books by Ms A. J., I found the Indigo Knights and fell all over again! This author is so talented I think she could write just about any genre😘 Can't wait to read more!
This was a good book, pretty much your basic romance. I haven't been as pulled into this series as I was with the MC series. This book is good, but I prefer more excitement.
Absolutely loved it! Awesome read from start to finish. Recommend everyone reading this book. All of her books are amazing. Indigo Knights series is a great series of books.
