Every woman has that moment where they've gone too far in the name of love...
Viola is a woman who never seemed to think there was a such thing as going “too far". She believed in love, and her life goal was to achieve her happily ever after with the man of her dreams. Unfortunately for her, this wasn’t what she got although she was everything any man could ever want. She ended up convinced that love simply didn’t exist... until she met first love, her high-school sweetheart, Marco.
Marco was a young thug, but Viola loved him at first sight, and though the love was mutual, unexpected life events tore them out of each other's lives.
After she loses her first love, she looks for a replacement for the man she never wanted to live without but ends up being hurt over and over again instead.
What more does a girl have to do to be loved? Is love and affection worth everything... even her life? And will she ever be able to gain the love back that she had with Marco or is that a chance at happiness she will never have again?
My mother once claimed that all ladies should require and oblige to proper introductions. And seeing as I am a sweet southern lady, at times, here goes nothing. I hail from the deep, deep DEEP South; Louisiana to be exact. I am a dragon-slaying Superwoman during the day. By night, I am a somersaulting, tight-rope walking spectacle with mounds of colorful hair!!! In “normal everyday life”, however, I am just me. The name’s Viola. Viola Monreaux. Ms. Monreaux if you’re naughty. I am Viola the mother, the daughter, the sister, the confidante, the villain, the heroine, the lover and the writer of it all. My passion for writing began as my therapy, compliments of my fixation with that thing called love. Paper to pen as a canvas to release and relate is good for the soul. Thus, I write to share, teach, and heal. As long as life is being lived I shall rejoice in the ability to create worlds for all to read, hopefully relish in and possibly grow from. Enjoy! Love, Peace and Good Sex, Viola Monreaux
It took be a few chapters before I finally began to get into the book but I kept going and glad that I did. It's true in some cases when they say love yourself or no one will. Viola had her share of disappointments and I truly believe it was deeper than her father choosing something over her. I don't know how many times I found myself shaking my head or cussing for Viola to get right. She was looking for love and acceptance in all the wrong places. One situation after another and it didn't seem as if she'd ever learn from her previous mistakes. Viola constantly allowed certain things while blaming herself when things weren't perfect. Each of her issues taught her a lesson that she failed to take notes on. It was a shame what she and Codi had to experience before she finally had an epiphany and realized change needed to start within. There are so many women just like Viola that harbor the feeling of wanting to be loved but go about it the wrong way. Hopefully others will read this book and realize the beauty of loving yourself first before trying to find someone to give the love they may seek.
Viola gave her story to you straight with no chaser. It was a cautionary tale that didn't sugarcoat what went down. She went through A LOT. Finding out how to love yourself first isn't an easy task. Experiencing a bunch of no good men, experimenting with questionable behavior, all the while having psychological difficulties is the perfect recipe for disaster. A good, real life tale
This book was a little different from what I usually read but it was good. Viola just couldn’t get it right...I believe the problem was within her not the sorry men she was meeting. I feel like there was a message in this book for someone.
This book was one crazy ride. It was a circle that kept getting repeated just with different people. The plots and twist were crazy. I kept rereading thinking I missed something.
This was a very interesting read... Very in depth and detailed on the life of Viola Monreaux... It was so sad just reading all that this poor young woman was battling with... Not only with those that she chose to surround herself with and hang out in her personal space but also the internal battle that she kept having with herself... She did not have the love of herself so she was willing to take the dysfunctional love that she kept getting for these men... In the beginning it felt like she had it all... But after reading her story I can definitely see that she actually had nothing at all... but hurt and pain... This hurt me to read all what she went through and that fact that she never really had anyone in her corner to help her when she needed them... Also she never really got the mental help that she truly needed... This poor young woman kept crying out for help from the depth of her soul... And no one was around to help... The sad part is that there are many women out there dealing with things like this and no one knows... This goes to show that you never really know what a person is dealing with in life... This book was definitely an eye opener to what is going on with so many woman and how they are so alone because they really don't know how to ask for the help that they need... After reading this book I really hope that It will help someone to see there self worth... We all have a purpose, that is why we are here... We are all important... Definitely feel that this book should be read... Not only by the women that are in this same type of situation but also those that know nothing about this type of situation so that maybe they will be able to notice the signs and try to help or just be there when needed for the one that is going through this... I was glad to see Viola finally find love for herself... I hope she continues to grow and become a stronger woman... She has her 2 children that need her also... I am glad that after multiple attempts of hurting herself that when it was all said and done... She was still standing... Not just still standing but standing strong... Overall I enjoyed this book because I feel that this is definitely something that needs to be spoke about...
