Wonderful book full of nostalgia for a time long ago. The stories traverse the mountains of NC when life was simpler, colors and sounds were brighter, and the air was clear.
Susan has lived a wonderful life from the hard working, humble beginnings of family and mountain kin who love her.

Sometimes you go into a book store with nothing particular in mind and come out with a gem like this. This is a delightful memoir in short chapters of a child’s outdoor life in the mountains.

This is just a lovely book and a pleasure to read. I live in the same county as Suzi and she evoked the feeling of living here perfectly.
