Dima Zales is a full-time science fiction and fantasy author residing in Palm Coast, Florida. Prior to becoming a writer, he worked in the software development industry in New York as both a programmer and an executive. From high-frequency trading software for big banks to mobile apps for popular magazines, Dima has done it all. In 2013, he left the software industry in order to concentrate on his writing career.

Dima holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science from NYU and a dual undergraduate degree in Computer Science / Psychology from Brooklyn College. He also has a number of hobbies and interests, the most unusual of which might be professional-level mentalism. He simulates mind-reading on stage and close-up, and has done shows for corporations, wealthy individuals, and friends.

He is also into healthy eating and fitness, so he should live long enough to finish all the book projects he starts. In fact, he very much hopes to catch the technological advancements that might let him live forever (biologically or otherwise). Aside from that, he also enjoys learning about current and future technologies that might enhance our lives, including artificial intelligence, biofeedback, brain-to-computer interfaces, and brain-enhancing implants.

In addition to his own works, Dima has collaborated on a number of romance novels with his wife, Anna Zaires. The Krinar Chronicles, an erotic science fiction series, has been a bestseller in its categories and has been recognized by the likes of Marie Claire and Woman’s Day. If you like erotic romance with a unique plot, please feel free to check it out, especially since the first book in the series (Close Liaisons) is available for free everywhere. Keep in mind, though, Dima Zales's books are going to be much more PG 13 . . . at least that’s the plan for now.

Anna Zaires is the love of his life and a huge inspiration in every aspect of his writing. She definitely adds her magic touch to anything Dima creates, and the books would not be the same without her. The further into the series I got, the more I enjoyed it, and the more I wanted to read more

I got these books and reviewed them individually, but if you're looking at the box set you might not want to take the time to go look up individual reviews, so I'm pasting mine here:

The Time Stopper:
The writing was a bit awkward in a couple of places (which usually throws me right out of a story), but the story drew me in enough that I kept reading—in the middle of a workday, when i'd actually only intended to read the first chapter—and I was sad when it ended.

I'm pretty impressed with how richly drawn the world, story, and characters were for such a short story. I'll definitely be reading the rest of the series, and be checking out the author's other books.

The Thought Readers:
I picked up the prequel to this series on a whim, and was highly intrigued by the concept. I finished it much more quickly than I expected to, because I couldn't put it down, and had to start this book as soon as I was able to get it downloaded. I had a hard time putting it down so I could go to sleep last night (if my husband could sleep through me reading on the iPad, I'd probably have stayed up until I finished it), and an even harder time not reading instead of working today.

The world is realistic, the story compelling, and the main character is likable. There were a few things that I predicted (some still to be confirmed later in the series, but I'm sure of a couple...), but still a few things I didn't see coming, which I always love. I'm dying to get busy reading the rest of the series, and worried that my husband won't let me spend the money right now.... Cross your fingers for me, please! (I really want to know if I'm right about a couple of things, and really want to find out the rest of the story!)

The Thought Pushers:
This series just keeps getting better and better! Any clunkiness that might have existed in the beginning is completely gone, and I'm sucked in to the point where I stayed up until 3am (don't tell my husband!) because I couldn't put it down. I'd made some predictions in my mind for what I expected to happen after the first couple of books, and I was right about a couple and SO wrong about others—and SO glad that I was, because what actually happened was better than my guess. (I love it when that happens!) I'm pretty deeply invested in the story and characters at this point—to the point where I bought the third and fourth books before I finished this one because I knew I wasn't going to want to stop. (And I was right. I had to finish them all before I could come back to review this one.)

I HIGHLY recommend this whole series.

** I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review**

This is the box set of Mind Dimensions books 0, 1 and 2

The Time Stopper

The Time Stopper a short novella that is a prequel to the Mind Dimensions series.

Mira is a though reader and able to Split – meaning she can stop time and leave her body. We get a great insight into what she does when she Splits as she is looking for her parents killers, she watched them die in a car explosion and now she wants revenge. When she Splits she sees herself and everything from all angles – the beginning she is in a smoke filled room and the way it is described in her split state is just brilliant.

The whole idea of Splitting is totally fascinating to me and I was hooked from the beginning, I absolutely loved the premise of the whole storyline and was glad I was able to move straight on to book 1 in the series. This is a great short book to introduce you to the series and I cant wait to read more, I am well and truly hooked.

The Thought Readers

We meet Darren in this book and whilst is out at a Casino winning, he comes across Mira when she sits at his table and does her Split. Only he calls the Quiet. He wasn't aware that there were others like him and when she takes off running from the Casino and when he gets detained for "playing the system" he managed to get info on Mira which he later uses when he enlists a help from his hacker friend to track her down.

After previous reading The Time Stopper before starting this box set, I just dived right in to this book and I could not put it down. It was so engrossing and when Darren meets Eugene Mira's brother and they theorise about how they do what they do I was just sucked right in to the story.

He also learns from Eugene that he is a Reader. Apparently Readers are good and Pushers are bad - interesting concept about the two. That opens up even more questions for Darren.

The book doesn't really have an ending per say as there are a few surprises that I wasn't expecting.

The Thought Pushers

This picks right up where we left off in Thought Readers. In this book we are thrown into the world of the Pushers and see Darren coming to terms with things from book 1. He can read people but he can also push them, and from what everyone knows this is pretty much unheard of!
This was a much more intense read and I am sucked in even more to this series, I dont want to do any spoiliers but this is just getting better and better.

I can no wait to read book 3!

The Mind Dimensions Series (Book 0-4...meant to be read Book 1, then 0, then 2-4) -- Dima Zales

Happened upon this series as I was looking for books for my son to read. Everyone was absolutely raving about them and it's a bit sci-fi so thought he would be interested. However, I decided to read them first to ensure the content was appropriate. Good thing I did, because though most of it is very appropriate, there are a few scenes that get a bit graphic and we decided he is not quite ready for them. That being said...I can't wait until he is because they are superb!!! Couldn't put them down!!!

Ok...I have to be perfectly honest. The writing style really sucks at times. By this I mean that you feel like it was written by a high school student sometimes. However, if you can get past that, the story is amazing!! I couldn't get enough and was sad when it was over.

The basic premise is that there are two classes of humans in this world that us everyday people don't know about. They have special powers where they can stop time and live in what is called the Mind Dimension. How long they can do this depends upon their Depth or power limits. One class is called Readers. While in the Mind Dimension, they can read the minds of normal humans. Can you imagine the things you could do with this power??

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Dislike

This is three books. The main protagonist in the first book, Darren, is nominally likeable. The rest are pretty much terrible people. Why the author thought to focus on one of the most unlikeable for part two escapes me. However, I couldn't get through it. The author seemed to think that focusing on rape in detail in the second part was a good idea. Sure, it let me know the bad guys were bad but details were unnecessary. That's when I lost all interest.

The premise of the series wasn't bad, different types of telepaths at odds with each other, with an interesting twist on how it works. Unfortunately, the unlikeable characters didn't make them people I wanted to read about. Two stars is only because I liked the initial premise.

Didn't hold my interest. Sorry...

I found the book to be mildly interesting at first. After about 450 pages, I realized that I hadn't connected with any characters and really didn't care about the outcome of the story as it had few new elements. So I bought a couple of new books by Follett and Azimov to properly entertain myself.

Time well spent! 🕰️

Immediately launches you into the supernatural from Chapter 1. Loved the mind bending world that has been built here. One of the chapters in particular in Book 2 was so intellectually stimulating. Gives you a sense of wonder at all the possibilities of the Mind Dimension. Made me want to explore my own mind more deeply. Highly recommended for sci-fi fans. 👍🏾

Excellent

This is a thoroughly interesting and enthralling read. I love Darren and Mira, their attraction is obvious. I find the whole idea of "Mind Dimensions" truly fascinating and the books had a great storyline . Can't wait to get hold of the next book.

Really closer to 3 and a half stars. Enjoyed the premise of this. Liked the MC. The plot was fun and actiony. The series is re-readable, which is rare for me, but the character dynamics do suffer--i found the MC's love interest was more and more unlikable on a second read.

Poorly written and very poorly performed audibly, but the story was a good story. Needs editing and a performer to read it.

I read The Time Stopper first and then I read this set. I liked The Time Stopper but I like this even more. Darren is the main character and he has breezed through life because of his ability to step outside of time. He can look at the answers to test this way and graduates from Harvard at only 18 years old. Everything he does it just to get a high paying job quickly. He knows he can use this ability to get ahead but he doesn't really understand where it came from or even how he is able to do it. #MindDimentions

Then while winning at a casino he meets Mira. For the first time ever when he is in the Quiet as he calls it, there is someone else moving around. Wow, he has finally met someone who could do what he did. He chases after her and loses her but has a friend look up information about her to track her down.

He ends up finding her brother who is eager to study Darren. Darren can stay in the "Quiet" longer than anyone he knows. There is a lot of action in these books as Darren gets shot at and chased. He is so confused. He doesn't know who he is. Is he a reader, a pusher?

He saves Mira's life one day by pushing someone to do something and Mira is so angry at him. After all Pushers killed her parents. They are her sworn enemy. She doesn't kill Darren because he saved her life but she does not entirely trust him. Her brother has to step in and speak up for Darren.

Some people, Readers, help them out of another dilemna and they meet more people who are kind of purists and don't like the fact that Mira and her brother are half breed readers. They still help them though.

In the end, there is a twist in this story that you will never see coming. How could it possibly be? Read the story for yourself and you will see how everything that Mira has ever known all comes into question.

I really got into these books once I started reading them. There was plenty to keep me interested. There is plenty of action and the story is not slow at all. I was never bored or just reading to get to the good part like I sometimes have to do with books. This one was good the whole way through.

Disclaimer: I received this book for free in exchange for my honest review. I didn't receive any other compensation. This opinion is mine alone and if not influenced by anyone.

Mind Dimensions Books 0, 1, & 2
by  Dima Zales  (Author),  Anna Zaires  (Editor)

No spoilers**I absolutely love sci-fi, fantasy, and paranormal books. This set did not disappoint. The prequel at first I thought was slightly slow, until chapter five, then I received a lesson in psychics that was as hard to follow to me as it was for one of the lead characters Darren.

Living his life not knowing he was not one of a kind, there were people like him out in the world and some he should even fear. Until he met Mira, another just like himself. He had to find out who she was, and what was this thing they could do. #MindDimentions  It is pretty much a clue in as to what the entire series is about.

This much we know, we have Time Stoppers, Readers, and Pushers. Two are good things, one is a bad thing. Mira the second major character is an angry young woman in search of those that have hurt her. Remember no spoilers, but she hates Pushers.

Unlike most sets of books this one does not jump you from the prequel into each book with what feels like something missing, no instead it picks up right where the last book stopped. That is one of the things that makes this a fantastic read.  #MindDimentions  had me captured by the fifth chapter of the prequel and kept me wanting more through to the end of book two. I am excited to find out what happens in Book 3!

It has been a thrill ride of a read, making you sit back and ponder ; are there really people out in the world like this? Much like the Matrix series where, go ahead admit it you wondered if it was possible. The same thing will happen when you read  #MindDimentions.

I received this box set for free in return for my 100% honest, unbiased opinion. I just happened to get the genre that is my favorite.

This series is an action packed thriller that is based in the fact that there are people who can do exceptional tasks that none other human can. At first, we find a guy who thinks he is the only one with the ability to leave his body and stop time, so he takes this as a way to be number one in his class and finished Harvard at eighteen and have a wonderful job, but when he finds that he is not the only one, then he start to realize that he is not crazy and so the search begins for the answers of what he might be and wat he can do, facing the threat of being discovered by another kind called the pushers.
This is a very fast, thrilling story with twist and turns that will keep you guessing.
Note: I received this book free in exchange of my un-biased opinion.

This is not usually a book I would pick up to read. Oh my goodness, devour it I did, though! Until you start getting into the story, it will throw you a bit as they are in and out of the Quiet, but it is rather easy to follow afterwards. It kind of reminds of Divergent meets the Matrix. This series is full of surprises, especially after he meets Mira and Eugene. I can't wait to see what the future is going to hold for Darren and Mira. I am looking forward to seeing Darren continue to search for answers about his family and learn to test his skills.

I enjoyed the first three books of the mind dimensions series. I like each of the characters and I think the author does a good job with the first person narrative. The action sequences are good and I like how the explanation for the powers and the history is woven into the story. If you like urban fantasy, this is a good series to read.
