Finding a mate is supposed to be one of the most magical moments of a bat shifter’s life. For poor Lake Truman, it’s a disaster. His mate’s rejection would have killed the magic all by itself, but the dead body cinches the whole thing.
Bryson Caill just ended a long-term relationship and moved back to his childhood home. He wants to put the pieces of his life back together before entering another relationship. But what he wants and what he gets are two very different things.
Note: This series is a spin-off of Finding Happy (Wingspan 2). The events in this book follow the same timeline as those in Finding Happy.
Living in Southwest Michigan, April resides with her husband and two kids. She has been an avid reader for several years. Writing her first story at the age of ten, the characters in her head still won't stop telling their stories. If April isn't reading or writing she can be found outside playing with the animals or taking a long walk in the woods.

💖 4.5 stars a great start of a new series for the author. Brilliantly written with romance, murder and mystery included. I loved Bryson and Lake for different reasons and loved their mind links scenes. The ending was fantastic in this and also includes a little snippet extra to read for Happy. I kept getting them confused which was the cop and who was blind but that was on me. The book was a great bat shiftier story. Bryson had returned home to Fountain Village, taking a job with his brother as a bartender saving to move to his own place. For the past 6 years he'd been a cop in the city. Lake had a twin brother, Happy (featured from the authors Finding Happy book) were they lived in Nirvana Orchards. 23 yrs old and never been outside a walled town. Until now, sneaking out they both plan to go to the Batshit Crazy Bar..lol
I am new to this author and didn't know what to expect but I am so happy that I read this book. It was very well written and engaging, so much so that I was disappointed when it was over.
I read a lot of paranormal books and have only run across a few with bay shifters. I loved that they were the main group in the story. It was such an interesting group to read about.
Oh! The books you find on Kindle Unlimited! I'm intrigued by this world the author has set up. After the bat shifters and dragon shifters, I'm intrigued to see what other paranormal creatures make an appearance. Apparently this is a companion series that intertwines with the original series. I need to go and read the ones that take place before this book before I continue on with this series.
The bat shifters go blind upon meeting their mate, so poor Lake is pretty much in the dark until Bryson decides to mate him. The love story is sweet and part of the mystery is solved but we have to wait to find out who the baby daddy is. I can't wait until the next book.
This was such a suspenseful and intriguing read. I enjoyed reading Lake and Bryson's story. Their romance was precious, however, Lake remained blind for quite a while, until he bonded with Bryson, since Lake was a bat shifter. The plot was gripping and mysterious with a perfect conclusion for Bryson and Lake. Excellent. :D
I like the series saint lakes and also wingspan. I hope more books are comming. What happened with delaro or happy's baby? So many stories not finished.
