Zhanna has a vision, one of the return of honor to the Witches and Mercenaries of Russia.
Making that hope a reality is becoming more difficult as time goes on, with the young woman battling prejudice from her neighbors and attacks from other Magic users.
It is a good thing that Dascha always has her back, as her Witch sets out to show the disorganized and dishonored mercenary Witches of Russia exactly what it means to stand by your Word!
Lead by example, practice what you preach. Progress is being made, one step at a time as Zhanna acquires spells and allies.
The mixture of technology and magic is where my mind and heart live. In today's world, it mixes engineering and creativity. In the worlds of my mind, technology and magic live intertwined. I hope that you will find my stories interesting enough to be frequent visitors to where my heart beats.
Overall I enjoyed this book and felt it was a good addition to this universe. There were a few easily overlooked editing errors. The reason I would not give this book 5 stars and honestly if it had been the first book in the series I may not have continued to read it is, in the first half of the book the number of times the wording the young witch was used was astronomical, it was hugely annoying and I had to push myself to finish, thankfully the second half of the book very very rarely had that hugely overused phrase in it and if gave me hope that the writer was just getting into the groove of writing. If the next book is anything like the second half of this one it will definitely be a 5 star read for me!
I hate writing non positive reviews but this level of writing could be read by a 6th grader. The short chapters, the lack of depth are just 2 examples. The only reason I continue this series and the Badger Hole series is because I am so dedicated to the Federal Witch series.
The story itself was fine, but I find it difficult to get through these books because they are rather boring to me. But I like the characters, the story and the concept, so I will keep reading them, I'm sure.
You guys did it again wonderful story fantastic characters in the story line is so much fun. Can’t wait for the next book in the series could you please write faster thank you enjoy
I think the tech mage concept is great and makes this story universe very interesting. I like that the main character is young and learning as she goes too. Can’t wait for the next book!
I really enjoyed reading this story. Full of lots of excitement, adventure, and discovery. The young witch is definitely starting to fulfill for future mission.
Fantastic story about a witch and her cat solving problems
This is a spinoff from familiar trials presenting more spells and training of the Witch and her cat. They encountered a band of hidden folks who are fleeing evil ones tortured and killed their of their family. This Rescue Mission involved Mercenaries, the Witch and her cat, and hit them folks.
The characters are unique, funny at times ( especially conversation between the Witch and her familiar). The quest of rescuing the hidden folks is fascinating. The scenery is descriptive.
Highly recommended. I especially like the ending which any reader will laugh at the misconception of the Witch. I look forward to reading more about these characters.
I wasn't sure that I would get into the book because of the witches. They are great characters but sometimes they are more "Bewitched" than "Charmed". I forgot that it's also an alternate reality that branches in 1948 and involved a global restructuring in the aftermath of a demonic invasion.
The story was tense and well developed, even if some of the characters were a little thin. The novel overall is good and it means that I will be eager to read the next volume. The writers are consistent in delivering good characters, a consistent universe, realistic or at least plausible interactions and no illogical outcomes.
I love this side series. It’s part of the Federal Witch universe. Zhanna is learning her craft and trying to return honor to the Russian witches. Along the way she has gained new ally’s and they have faced new challenges. This is a very fun read I thoroughly enjoyed.
I love the magic and the principle this series is based on. Tami Drake has done a wonderful job working within RD Paul's Federal witch universe, it's a don't miss read and a wonderful way to spend a day.
