My First Book Of Quantum Physics

I’m an adult trying to learn a thing, so I read this book on my own. I learned a lot and only have a wee bit of knowledge about any kind of physics. This is a really good, accessible and excellently illustrated book!

Bona lectura!

This is actually quite helpful to all ages I would say for explaining these complex topics! I’m a science teacher and it’s always very helpful to see different ways of explaining and breaking down things. Beautifully illustrated. I can see how some physicists might pick apart things, but overall this is an excellent and useful book. I also think it’s great that it’s something adults can learn about alongside their children.

Great book for kids and adults

This one covers it all, from classical to quantum physics.

And it does it in a fun way - I highly recommend it!

I don't often include the children's books I read with my kids (or on my own) throughout the year here on Goodreads, but every once in a while there's a book that I'm so excited about I can't not include it! My sister gave this book to my 9 year old son for Christmas, and over the course of three nights, we read through it together. We had fantastic discussions, and he was disappointed when it was over—I know he's be re-reading this one.

The cover and title sounds like it's a book for younger children, but it's geared for 8+ or so I'd say. The information is solid and presented in accessible but not overwhelming ways. The graphics are charming and useful, and the book design as a whole is rich and really well organized. If you have a science-y kid in your life, this book is highly recommended!

Hello, friends! Our book today is My First Book Of Quantum Physics by Sheddad Kaid-Sala Ferrón & Eduard Altarriba, a crash course in the science of the universe for little bookworms.

Starting with Newton and working its way through the history and notable discoveries of quantum physics, this exceedingly informational tome introduces young readers to the science of understanding our reality. Exploring historical findings such as Planck and the quanta, basics such a molecules and subatomic particles, and concepts and ideas like Schrödinger’s cat, the manically energetic and colorful illustrations act like a combination of idea maps and infographics, always tucking in a fun fact or necessary definition along with the meat of the page’s subject. By the final page, young scientists with have learned about the Higgs boson, Marie Curie, the mystery of light’s wave-particle duality, and more.

Wow. This was EDUCATIONAL, not only for little ones but for readers of any age – I have a rudimentary understanding of science, and I learned at least a dozen new things in just the first few pages. There is SO MUCH information here, which is amazing, but it also feels a bit overwhelming on some of the busier pages. The illustrations have a wonderful retro vibe that perfectly compliments, rather than competes, with the information. But this is definitely not a book for younger bookworms – there’s no linear story, complicated technical language, and the length and density of the text makes it impossible to get through in a single sitting. That being said, for readers of any age over eight hoping to learn more about science, especially visual learners, this is a treasure. Baby Bookworm approved!

I initially bought it for my son, but it turned out pretty advance 😂 It should be suitable for kids who already at least learned basic physics term such as wave, or light phenomenon such as reflection and refraction.

However, this book is perfect for ME who already forgot MOST of physics stuff. It's a perfect for refreshing a lot of stuff including the classical physics. I actually read it because I was a bit lost in Stephen Hawking book which I was currently reading and it helped!

This nonfiction book written by Sheddad Kaid-Salah Ferrón and Eduard Altarriba intended for readers ages younger elementary students with assistance, or as an entry text to middle grade students. The book goes over the basics of principle and theory in the subjects relating to quantum physics such as the wave particle effect of light, the molecular structures of matter and atoms, and a number of important understandings and informational foundations of quantum physics today.
The illustrations of this book were though sometimes crowded (this seems to be in necessity as the density of information was plenty) they were engaging and had a logical layout that aided understanding interaction with the text materials. The information itself has clear and representative diagrams and all sorts of good information that promotes learning and understanding of more complex concepts for exploration and the satisfaction of discovering an expressed interest. I had a lovely time as a current high school chemistry student learning from this book and better understanding concepts I was already familiar with from classes this year.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! THIS BOOK BLEW MY MIND. (I literally instagrammed every page because I kept learning things that were so cool I had to yell at people about it). But unless your 8 year old is Sheldon Cooper or Leonard Hofstadter, I'm not sure it will resonate. That being said, the book definitely does an excellent job of simplifying a ridiculously complicated science. Plus, the illustrations are cute as heck.

I enjoyed this book so much! of course it is not like studying physics for many years, but it still makes us wonder about the subject because it sounds like magic, like fantasy! :D The illustrations are okay, not the best, but not ugly either.

A clear reference explaining the basics of physics and quantum physics. Marked for age 8 and up but it's a rare 8-year-old who would be ready for this.
