Elisabetta Gnone is an Italian writer. In April 2001, she co-created the Italian comic/magazine W.I.T.C.H. with Alessandro Barbucci and Barbara Canepa. The publication was later made into the television series of the same name. Gnone also wrote the children's trilogy Fairy Oak: Il segreto delle gemelle (The Secret of the Twins), L'incanto del buio (The Spell of Darkness), and Il potere della luce (The Power of Light). She expanded the Fairy Oak Universe with four more books, "The four mysteries": "Captain Grisam's love", "Shirley's wizarding days", "Flox smiles in autumn", and "Good-bye Fairy Oak".

I read this series so many years ago and completely forgot about it. I really want to read all the issues. Not all were translated into Dutch so teenage me never got the chance to read the series in its entirety.

It was really fun to reread this one and i can't wait for the others!

Ten years ago, I used to hide the book under the desk and read this series during class, lunch break, on my way home. I was o b s e s s e d.
Rereading it got me feeling all kinds of stuff, felt like I was flipping through my childhood. It's still as amazing and fun.

I got so emotional when I found it online. I still have the magazines from 20 years ago. I grew up reading them. I can't believe it's been that long. But I loved rereading it and I'm finally gonna be able to read all the volumes to know how the story ends. I'm so happy and excited. I love these little witches.

La nostalgia! 🖤

Che bello rivivere questi ricordi. La storia, ma anche ritornare a quei tempi andati, ripensare alla magia che c'è in quell'età. E poi diciamolo, questo fumetto è bellissimo: non solo un passatempo da edicola degli anni Duemila, ma molto di più, tra amicizia, scuola e coraggio.

W.I.T.C.H era il mio fumetto preferito alle scuole elementari e medie, così quando oggi l’ho ritrovato sull’apple store non ho resistito alla tentazione di scaricare il primo volume e di leggerlo. Sebbene sia evidente che la storia è destinata a un pubblico ancora giovane resta un vero piacere leggerla e i disegni mi continuano a piacere da morire, oggi come allora.

The beginning of one of my childhood adventures.

I remember reading this during my teen years and at a time when I had all of this girl-power energy and was very interested in anything related to magical girls, and W.I.T.C.H was one of them.

I could literally relate to each and every girl of them, but the one who felt more like me was Will Vandom, for so many reasons. I couldn't see W.I.T.C.H as a novel or a book, maybe because the writing is really simple, but the art style is truly magnificent.

This volume was a good introduction to each character, and the over-all story.

I re-read this comic today because I randomly thought of this series recently. It really fueled my love of fantasy stories as a pre-teen. Not all the comics were available in the US but I've always been able to find translated copies online. This first in the series is always my favorite because I like how dark it is while also showing a very accurate depiction of teenage girls. Halloween is where the girl's come together as Guardians and discover their new powers are for a greater purpose. I really liked the art style in this issue though if I recall correctly the art style does change throughout the series depending on the issue. It was a pretty diverse read for it's time as well. I could see a bit of myself and all my friends in each of the girls.

I used to love this show but why is this the first time i'm reading these comics? the art is incredible and the story is fantastic, it fills every single hole that the show rushed over. I cannot WAIT to read more of these and see where they go!

No le puedo poner nota a esto porque sería cero objetivo, solo decir que no recordaba que el dibujo fuese tan, tan bueno, y que las secciones de revista de niñatas de los 2000 me han hecho reír muchísimo.

Me acuerdo cuando era pequeña solía comprarme una revista donde venia un cómic con las aventuras de las W.I.T.C.H. y me encantaba. Tamibién veía la serie pero muy poco tiempo porque creo que la cancelaron. Y luego sacaron las Winx que tubieron muchísimo más éxito que las W.I.T.C.H.

El caso es que me he vuelto a ver las Winx de nuevo al enterarme de que la serie está en netflix y me he acordado de las W.I.T.C.H. Estuve buscando los cómics y me he leído este primero que está bastante bien como introducción aunque ya me acordaba de todo. Eso sí, no me acordaba que tuvieran 13 años y tengo miedo que vaya a ser muy infantil para mi.
