War comes. Love grows. Scars are filled and made.

Weaver lost a piece of his soul for his actions at the rebellion outpost. Now back at Herosi castle, Weaver awaits the kings punishment as he prepares his next steps. Before Gibi enters his slumber, he gives Weaver a possible door to walk through. This path only leads to another god he wanted nothing to do with. But being Gibi’s brother, Arbos comes with a promise of assistance. However, putting Laila's life in danger is the cost of the deal.

With Weaver now coming into his own, he must re-invent himself once more. Weaver and Laila find themselves at a slave camp in Grassin, looking for Arbos’s daughter. However, Arbos’s daughter is not the only mystery that lies there. Another who is also familiar with the gods introduces himself to Weaver.

As battle looms over their heads, dis-trust starts to crack the group apart leaving everyone more vulnerable for what comes next. Weaver must balance the trust of his group and what he knows is right to reach the desired end, if there is one to be had.

Grassin is a well written book by Jacob L. White. He beautifully continues the story of Weaver in this second book of the series. The plot thickens and follows a captivating storyline with lots of well hidden twists along of their journey. Unlike the first book, this one is definitely a little faster paced and covers a lot larger area of this "new world" that the author builds for the readers. I enjoyed how the author found a way to integrate known mythical creatures like the "fates" into the story that make sense. The story is still a bit on the slower side but I think the author is learning from his previous book. The book ends with a huge ending but also a cliff hanger and I am curious how the author will continue this saga.

Weaver is an interesting character. I was happy to see that he stopped his constant lamenting of his position in life and where he ended up and finally decided to do what is best. Don't take me wrong he always had his heart in the right place and will always do everything he can to protect the ones he loves, but he was a tad of a "cry baby" in the first book. I am happy to see he outgrew that and has "manned" up quite a bit. He did a lot of growing and is finally making some decisions that need to be made instead of complaining about his horrible position of having to make that decision. He has also now learnt that even in the worsts moments he can find a way to find humor, which I have found is becoming one of his better traits! Laila is a great character as well and will stop at nothing to support him in any manner that she can. Anna is a bit more torn, but she also has a tougher position in it all.

All in all I think the second book is an improvement in many ways from the first one and is starting to really live up to the potential I saw when I started to read this series. I am definitely curious to see where this will go next!

A brilliant follow up to book one in this epic adventure of good versus evil.

Here we find Weaver in all sorts of trouble. He has lost his powers and his faith in himself, but fortuntely other's haven't. The story centers on how he claws himself back to reality and reinvents himself as the hero he is meant to be while attempting to outwit and out manoeuvre everything that is evil.

Great character and scene description and some really good dialogue. Easy to read and very believable. Nice angst and some fun humour with the colourful character, Dirk. The battle at the end is a real page turner. Couldn't believe it when the book finished. Will have to read the next one.

Great continuation of a fabulous series. All the characters we met are still here except for Les, she was a great character with a wicked sense of humour. Weaver is still on his quest with all its ups and down. Totally enjoyed this book.

A sequel that doesn't feel like a sequel

A highly engrossing read that continues the story of Weaver and his friends. Sadly Les is gone and I loved her so.

Nicely paced and up until the end one could definitely see it as a standalone. Characters are well-written and continue on easily.

Highly recommended!

This second book in the series was the first I laid my hands on. This is a fine story of a man torn apart between the guilt of his previous actions and the responsibility of saving the kingdoms at stake. This fast-paced book was a convincing read that kept me going until the very end. Definitely recommended to the genre readers!

Quite an interesting saga!
This second book is about the story of Weaver who is still on his quest. I really appreciated how the author developed the story and added the plot twists along the way, keeping you turning the pages. A very enjoyable tale in a fantasy world!
