Aboard Providence (Uncharted Beginnings, #1) Eager for adventure, Marian Foster joins a group of Virginia families who are sailing away from America to form a new settlement off the coast of Brazil. She boards the Providence confident in the group’s plan, but a fierce storm blows the ship—and her life—off course. Though her very survival is uncertain, Marian’s heart is drawn to Jonah Ashton, the strong but secretive ship’s physician.
Jonah Ashton is determined to finish medical school before rumors of Southern rebellion erupt into all-out war. When family obligation forces him to take a voyage aboard the Providence, he plans to escort his family to their new settlement in South America and then return home. While aboard the Providence, Jonah is beguiled by Marian’s optimistic spirit. But when everything goes wrong, his future in medicine is at stake.
The voyage aboard the Providence will change their plans, but will it change their hearts?
Above Rubies (Uncharted Beginnings, #2) It’s 1863, and schoolteacher Olivia Owens believes education should be a top priority in the newly established settlement of Good Springs. Between planning lessons and helping on her family’s homestead, Olivia doesn’t have time for Gabriel McIntosh’s charming advances. When the council denies her request to build a schoolhouse, Olivia must challenge their ruling and teach private lessons—all while hiding frequent bouts of word blindness (dyslexia). If the council knew the new teacher couldn’t always read, they wouldn’t allow Olivia to teach anymore.
As a carpenter, Gabe McIntosh is working hard to help build the settlement of Good Springs, and once his land is granted, he begins constructing his own house. When Olivia discovers he plans to share it with her, she guards her heart from him. But Gabe is determined to win her affection and figure out what she’s hiding.
All Things Beautiful (Uncharted Beginnings, #3) It’s 1868 in the settlement of Good Springs, and Hannah Vestal is passionate about writing fiction and keeping her stories to herself. By lantern light she slips into her story world and dreams the adventures she’ll never experience. When her father asks to read her work, she decides to have it printed secretly for his 50th birthday. Hannah tries to arrange the printing with the settlement’s pressman, but the witty and dapper Henry Roberts won’t make it easy for her to prove her writing is worthy of his ink.
If Henry Roberts did nothing else for the rest of his life but print and bind books, he would die a satisfied man. In order to secure settlement support for his printing press, the elder council says Henry must print an error-free copy of the New Testament before the settlement’s 8th anniversary celebration. He is determined to meet their challenge, but when the enigmatic Hannah proves to be a beguiling distraction, Henry longs for something more than a life at the letterpress.

Aboard Providence-Jonah determination to do right by his family keeps him with them, yet he never gives up his desire to return to the life he thought he needed to go back to. He even fights his own new desires to stay. Marian is so encouraging even when things seem to bleak or so much is weighing on her. It is so refreshing to see her total trust that the Lord will get them exactly where they are suppose to be even if they all perish on the ship.
Above Rubies-When Gabe tells Olivia she is far above rubies it is an amazing picture of the chivalry I wish boys/men had these days. Know your worth because giving even a kiss is a powerful thing you can’t get back. I love this message and hope to teach it to my daughters well enough.
All Things Beautiful-I love getting to continue Hannah’s & her families story after being introduced to them in book 2. To have it with Henry who we have known since book 1 & want a good outcome for him. So glad Hannah put forth the effort and worked through her hurt to complete her project even under adversity.
I read these 3 books, The Uncharted Beginnings Series; Aboard Providence, Above Rubies and All Things Beautiful, Total pages were 10, 510! The stories were good. The last one was the best. I think I’m not going to read the others because when I was through, I thought I couldn’t read the rest of them. I didn’t know where they were on this earth. The Southern Hemisphere is warm, isn’t it. They had all seasons. It seemed to bother me that I didn’t know where they were! Then other generations to come, they wouldn’t know either! Unless, they discover where they really are, but I choose not to read anymore. I want to know where they are. It’s fantasy! MaryRead/Amazon Customer and Goodreads.
This is a 3 book series covering different characters and their lives and love life. Supposedly several southern families band together just before the Civil War starts. They decide to sail to a island off the coast of South America and colonize there to create their own society. I assume the authors idea came from the southern families that left the south after the civil war and settled in Brazil. It is fairly well written and holds your interest right up to the end of each book.
the voyage to The Land was exciting as was the story of Jonah and the two that followed. It was fun to see Olivias story take place. I had a slight problem keeping up with all the characters in the community but followed it enough to feel I was getting to know them. Lots of imagination. Thanks
This was a very interesting series of books. I really liked all of the characters and the descriptions of all the people and scenery. I liked that all the couples have had HEAs.
I have read the first 3 books of this series and am currently reading #4 . I am enjoying the story's and the whole idea for the books. New, interesting and sweet love story's. . I plan on finishing the series.
This is one of those books that have a hard time putting down. I don't know how she did it, but Ms. Keith blended Christianity and a sort of science fiction in a way that brings the characters to life and makes the reader feel as if they're right there.
After reading the Uncharted series, I enjoyed reading how it all started. Keith does a good job with giving each character unique challenges that they need to understand and overcome to find their place in live and the right person to marry.
