What was Helen Schucman really like? Why was she chosen to receive the material? What roles did other people play in this fantastic journey? Based on firsthand accounts told to the author, JOURNEY WITHOUT DISTANCE is a suspenseful and dramatic story that will fascinate the millions of people who have read A Course in Miracles and captivate those who have not yet opened its pages.
I'm not really sure how I feel about this book. It is the story of how Helen Schucman was inspired to write the papers that became "A course in Miracles. Her growing up was really sad to me. It seems she had very little contact with her parents especially her father. She was seeking religion all her life and latched on to others beliefs but had none of her own. Apparently voices spoke to her and she wrote down what they said. To me this is bordering on Schizophrenia but it appears the stories she tells and things she wrote were uplifting and worth taking a look at. I do want to read "A Course in Miracles".
A fast, engaging read for anyone involved in making A Course in Miracles a direction in their lives. It answers the 'how did the manuscript come about' questions in a succinct fashion.
