I enjoyed this, loving the era, and also being a supporter of the rewriting of history with fact instead of what the victor decides is such! However, this was written before the Leicester grave was found, thus the facts aren't representable, as they're not available! Also, toward the end, as in the last twenty or so pages, the author disappears into an unfathomable world that I really couldn't follow! The end of this book was just too much, I had to put it down!
I wouldn't put anyone off reading this, however! There's a surprise twist you never saw coming, or perhaps more than one, and some full and interesting characters that are worth the time getting to know! I may not have quite 'got' the end, but the end is not the whole book, and perhaps other readers will read this in a different way, understanding the symbolism and the fantastical nature of it! To me, the book was 600 pages of fantastic historical storytelling, and a few pages of something I must have been too tired, or literally minded to quite fathom the significance!
