A hand-written note by G.J. Yorke states that the original cover design was probably by A.O. Spare. Introduction by Aleister Crowley. Poems by Bumco, VBN, Nina Stainthorpe, George Raffalovich, and Leila Waddell. Cloth edition.
It's like a 15 yr old just discovered Beowulf and Paradise Lost for the first time in their life. Just a stream of cookie cutter couplets tied to satanic imagery. God (no wait) MOTHER OF EVIL AND SIN, I hate the Crowley circle. I've yet to read anything they did that the modernists didn't do better.
Edit: sorry, I overreacted—the poems become more varied, in form and content, as the book progresses. There's a lot of naturalistic imagery, an entwining of planetary forms with sensuous desires. It's thoroughly 18th century romantic. God (sorry) BY HELA'S DEAD HALLS, I'm bored out of my mind, still.
