Caris refused to save herself when the Tonans landed on Earth offering salvation. She couldn’t believe their rescuers were kind when they left the old, weak and diseased behind. Her volatile world fell apart as mega storms crashed around her and those she cared for. The cave she and other survivors fled to kept them safe for months, until the unthinkable happened.
The tiny female Benz found was beautiful. She was also dangerous to his planet. Caris held a secret that could wipe out life as he knew it; as all knew it. One little female had the power to bring the warrior to his knees. An alien war species could bring them all crashing down. Benz couldn’t kill her, but would Caris end up killing him with another unforeseen problem?

Born and raised in Ontario, C. L. Scholey developed her passion for writing through her love of reading books as a child. Her first book was contracted in Oct 2009 the very same month her first grand son was born. C. L. Scholey still lives in Ontario, in a rural community with her husband and daughter.

From the author:
Hello, I'm Connie! Now that we've met how about I tell you a little about me? I love to write, it's like having a super power.

I was born and raised in Ontario...yes I'm Canadian, no I don't live in an igloo, no I've never pet a polar bear, but I have run into a few black bears, seen wolves, moose, coyotes and I think there's a hundred pound squirrel in my attic.

I spend as much time as I can get away with looking for rocks in Bancroft. When I'm not in Bancroft I live in a small town, so people know me when they see me. Some ask me what I'm working on--some even ask me in a regular voice not a whisper.

I get bored easily, it's why one day I'll be working on assassins, the next Sci-fi, then Vikings, then vampires, then planning world domination--wait, what?

Moving on. I love animals and we have a dog, 120p mastiff. He's great with the kids and careful around them, but he'd run me over for a piece of bologna. Otherwise he loves us.

If you want to get to know me better join me on FB or twitter. Right now I need to change back into a mom, it's my best super power.

After all Hell breaks lose, Caris and a small band of fellow Earthers have survived by living in a cave but, with supplies running low and oxygen levels plummeting, it's just a matter of time before they too die from one or the other.

Caris can deal with that as she's seen the writing on the wall, but, not all is what it seems as the fantasy of safety is exposed as being a lie.

Benz, a Caspian warrior, spots a flash of light on the planet they're scanning but it's questionable if its a life form as no one could survive the extreme weather conditions now covering the planet. Being given permission to lead a scouting party, Benz goes back to the area where he saw the flash finding a lone Earth female clinging to life.

Bringing her back to the ship, Cobra, ships commander and Caspian's leader, Benz is ordered to mate with Caris or forfeit her to another of the warriors aboard.

Mating is one thing when it's found that Caris is the single most dangerous Earth female the Caspian's have ever come across. So dangerous that Cobra worries that his ship may never be able to return to their home planet as it would mean certain death for all who reside there.

9th installment in the "New World" series that takes place in the parallel world of the "Unearthly World" so it's a good idea to have read previous installments of either or both of those series before reading this book.

I can't help myself in feeling a portion of this book reminded me of the 1998 movie "The Truman Show" though to be clear it wasn't the same.

I'm not 100% on team Caris & Benz. Yes, they worked as characters for this story and yes they had chemistry, but, for whatever reason, I didn't appreciate them as much as I felt I should have. Yes, I was cheering them on and yes I did the high five when the whole mating process was complete but ....
Maybe, just maybe, it was because of the high degree of angst and heavy heartedness. Not sure though.

Secondary characters do add depth and add to the story line to varying degree. A new character is introduced who I think is going to be featured as a main character for the next installment. Not going to name names as it's a spoiler for THIS story so.

The romance elements are a slow steady paced journey that takes a back seat to the actual mystery-suspense elements. For those who like to know, the actual romance does cross over to border line graphic adult quality but imho just barely.

My issue with this story is that the scene cuts are abrupt and with the unspoken expectation of knowledge regarding the overall series would building and ability to rely on that knowledge to get up to speed on the current scene. That's the main reason I don't feel this is standalone eligible. Potential new readers would lose a lot if this is the first time reading this (or the other) series. It builds and evolves.

Personally, I appreciate and enjoyed this story though not as much as I have others in the series, yet, not all books are an automatic home run so any base hit still advances the game (series). Fans of SciFi Post Apocalyptic adult romantic suspense should check out this book penned by a fav SciFi author.

ps. what I wouldn't give to have an Indy of my own. Seriously. I so want Indy.

It was a mistake to read this after rereading the other New World books. This story actually comes after the spin-off series, Unearthly World. I know that I would have enjoyed it more if I had reread Unearthly World first because a number of the characters appear in this book, and it seems like you should know them and the back story already.

Also, there is inconsistancy with previous world building (not typical for this author). In prior books it was said that Castian/Tonan warriors were only fertile when in must, once or twice every 400 years. Only when in must can a piece of the father’s shield be passed down to his son. Now we have an update from a couple from a prior book (no spoilers) who had 3 children in 65 years: a boy, a girl, then another boy. :-(

In my opinion, Books 8 and 9 of New World just don’t have the same level of fun and romance as books 1-7. I am going on to reread the Unearthly World series because I recall it was a lot of fun.

I emphatically demand that this author step up and do better!

I didn’t like this book but not because of the main characters.

This book had a lot going on that wasn’t included in this book. It was an interesting story up until it became a free for all of other storylines and characters. The usual over fast pacing of the writing didn’t help matters either. I felt like I had missed a bunch of books in the series and at that point I disconnected from the main story and the main leads.

I strongly feel the author needs to find a better editor or find an editor altogether if she doesn’t have one!

From what I have gathered after completion of this story there is a sister series with the Zargonnii. What the author did in this book was combine the storylines and as I didn’t read those books I was lost and confused as to what was being referenced. What’s the point of “Separate Series(!)” if you’re going to go and combine them without alerting your audience that they should be reading the other line too!?!?

I had already purchased that line but I was going to read it AFTER finishing this series. Now I don’t want to! And I want my money back because of the SPOILER factor of this book!!

This author has SO MUCH potential but has so many issues with editing and continuity and I was really disgusted by her with this book. This kind of sloppy craftsmanship of her products should not happen and I emphatically demand that this author step up and do better! I was really enjoying this series until this book ruined not only this series but also the “Unearthly World’s” line too. Smdh...

The story of Benz and Caris was sweet though. The little I could follow that is.

Loved this series

Stealth is set 65 years after the destruction of Earth. The first human-castisn, human-tonan and human -zargonnii chooser are grown and are finding mates and having children of their own.
Caris is a human found in a world destroyed by the Annihilators, by Benz, a young Castian warrior. She was.taken by a benevolent race.in hopes of saving humans, but their studies to to long and she was all they could save and now they are gone.
Cobra puts .Caris in Benz care. When it is learned the Annihilators have a tie to her, he forced them to mate, to protect her as well the world's the Castian's and their allies inhabit.
Benz knows Caris doesn't love him, that didn't prepare him for the devastation he feels after mating. He loves her and can now keep her and everyone safe,.or.so he thought.
Ankou has been in love with Caris since they were children and feels they are mates. He has searched for her, even after Earth was destroyed. The Annihilators females would kill her, but he can't stay away.
Caris soon finds she is the cause of fear and a rift forms between some of the hybrid children and their elders. Trusts are broken,.leading to betrayal. Caris can see all sides and has a big heart.
Great addition to the series. Fast, paced, a little steamy, a lot of drama. I really felt for both Caris and Benz. Fe!t for Zell and Ryker. Ankou, hope he finds his lost mate. Loved seeing the kids.grown up and becoming parents. Hope there will be more in the series.

Another fantastic New World book!
I’ve been eagerly waiting for another “New World” story and this one does NOT disappoint! The opening scene begins on a devastated Earth with the never-ending onslaught of weather gone haywire. Expected. But, the story has some very unusual twists and turns that will leave the reader amazed! Caris and her Castian rescuer, Benz, are not quite ready for the position in which they’re placed - and it makes life very interesting, to say the least. I enjoyed the author’s wry sense of humor that lightened the truly dangerous situations that beset the Castians, Tonan and Zargonnii. I love “Stealth!” It sneaks right in and steals my heart away!

A huge jump in timeline and quite disjointed in storyline with some disappointing eventualities from certain promising characters from previous books. Just didn't live up to my expectations for a new book in a series I have always enjoyed. Confusing and therefore difficult to get to know Benz and Caris as well as you do some others or feel the connection between them as a 'real' thing as opposed to simply convenient.

New World Stealth

Benz and Caris were a wonderful couple. I really enjoyed this book. I loved that the Children are older. I am sad too for the choices Zell and Ryker made. The world building was awesome as always. I really loved all the different species were together in this book. I can't wait to read more about them. I would recommend this book and all the series.

I wanted to absolutely love this book, but it did fall a bit short. It was disjointed and not always consistent, as the previous books were. Taken individually and after reflection, it is however a good storyline and the characters are likeable. I would wish it had a bit more editing and perhaps there was at least one book between the previous and this one.

Wicked

Love it. I actually struggle for words on how good it was to slip back into this world. To see so many young that have grown. To maybe glimpse Into a new story and world too. Can't wait to see if that happens xxx another book I recommend anyone to read and enjoy

Sweetly sad

I found the story to be a bit sad but sweet at the same time . Old characters , New characters and children grown up. The human genes made some big changes , I guess we see how much in future episodes

No......

Confused 😕.....That's what I'm taking from this book ....I've read all the books in this series and love them ....but this particular book have me turning the pages rather quickly so I can get to the ending quicker just to gain some understanding of what's going on ....I couldn't tell if the main character is an adult or a teenager and will their be a civil war because of what the two friends did ?????......Maybe other readers will have a better gasp of it for I'm at the end and still confused.....Sorry no second read for me.

The Best Yet,

I’m so sad, I didn’t want this to end. It certainly let the door open for more books. Please? I really fell in love with Benz and Caris. Seeing all the children grown up and their individual personalities was great. Certainly a book I will read again and again.

So Cool

I always love these books. Especially because characters continue to be part of the story far past their own books. The imagination of the Author never stops amazing me.
