Breaking The Rules

A Forbidden Love Romance

HANK

I’ve always been the odd one out in my family. Figures the one time they come to me for help, I sleep with the guy trying to run them off their land.

When they asked for help with the developers trying to snatch up the trailer park we’ve lived in for generations, I thought this was my chance. I could show them just because I moved out and live my life in ways they don’t understand, it doesn’t mean I’m any less loyal to them.

But now that makes these feelings I have seem like a betrayal.

Eric was just supposed to be a hook-up. I was never supposed to see him again, let alone see him as the very enemy I was trying to protect my family from.

And even then it should have been a simple choice. The easiest thing in the world to pick my family over him. Yet I can’t seem to get him out of my mind.

Let alone stay out of his bed.

My friend suggests I use this chemistry between us, convince Eric to back off and leave the land alone. I know its the right thing to do for my family. I shouldn’t care what it costs a man I hardly know.

But I do.

No matter what I choose, someone’s going to get hurt. And it’s going to be all my fault.

ERIC

Everything in my life was going according to plan. I had clear goals and the ambition to make them a reality. No time for distractions, and that included guys who tried to be more than a stress-relieving hook up.

I just didn’t plan on Hank.

I’d never have guessed my one night stand was from that very trailer park. Or that he could go toe to toe with me every time I tried a new angle to evict his family.

I definitely never planned on second-guessing my priorities. Thinking about throwing my ambitions away, just because it would make him happy.

It scares me to want someone who can make me question everything I’ve ever cared about.

But not as much as it scares me to think I can’t trust him…

This 50,000 word tale of forbidden love puts two enemies with everything to lose in the bedroom…with all the steamy scenes needed to make them risk it all. Read at your own discretion, but only if you’re eighteen and up!

This is the fourth book that I have read in this series and I like how the characters from the first three novels are interwoven into this one. Adam has taken Eric under his wing after sensing how lonely he has become. Through him, Eric is introduced to the pub and its regulars, and takes a shine to the chef, Hank. When I say "takes a shine", I mean instalust! A "round the back of the pub" quickie later, they have the talk they should have had at the start and realise they are on opposite sides of a land conflict.

The chemistry between Eric and Hank is real, and after another lust filled bout they agree to get to know one another better. They realise that they are both trying to live up to the expectations placed on them by family and this gives them a bond.

I did find the internal ponderings of each main character slowed the story down and there subsequently wasn't as much action as I like. Other than that, the book is a well written, mainly enjoyable, low angst read.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book and I was not required to leave a review.

Hank is a chef and his huge family and he don't get along as well as he would like. Now the family is fighting to keep their trailer park from be scoffed up by a developer. Eric is the developer go to to get the job done and Hank's family has dumped the responsibility of keeping the trailer park safe. To complicate matters the two men have made a connection and must fight the problem that professionally they shouldn't be having this relationship. Eric is trying to figure out how to save the park for Hank and Hank is trying to get his family into the 21st century... and they both want to save their relationship. Can they do it? Read this enjoyable book to see how it all gets done. I would recommend this book for those who love a good contemporary M/M love story. I voluntarily read and reviewed this ARC book.

Great read..

Hank's family is tired of being prodded by a development company to sell their land. They seem Bank's assistance in getting the repression back off... But Hank never thought the rep would end up being the gorgeous stranger he just booked up with behind the bar. Opposing sides of the battle, they should not get involved with each other.... Too bad they just can't keep their hands off one another.
Great continuation of the Fighting for Love series. I enjoyed reading Hank and Eric's story and seeing the rest of the gang from Joe's bar. Well written and entertaining story that I definitely recommend.

"I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book. I was not required to leave a review."
I adore J.P. Oliver with his band of misfit men who find true love and gather around the bar, almost Cheers like. Being able to meet these amazing men and continue their stories is a privilege. I think this is one of my favorites with Hank being so strong and Eric being slightly submissive. It's a treat to read as each couple find their true partner and easily flow into the family they have created.

Excellent!

I really liked the instant charisma between Hank and Eric. If they knew exactly who each other was to begin with, they may never have gotten the chance to find love. Fate has a way of stepping in and smacking you up aside the head sometimes, doesn't it?

This turned out to be a really good story and I'd recommend it to any M/M lovers out there! Definitely 18+ only!

I received this book as an Advanced Reader Copy.

Wonderful story

Two headstrong people meet and develop feelings for each other. Naturally nothing comes easy. One company one family one big fight, but in the end everything works out alright. Loved the whole series

Great!

Eric and Hank found true love with each other and wasn't actually poking for it. Family can be a bit of a trip sometime. But love will win most of the time!

I found this story to be interesting. It has good characters, who were full of passion and three dimensional. I loved the dialogue and the scene description. I loved the cover.

Overcoming Obstacles!

Bar Chef Hank meets Land Developer Eric and it’s attraction at first sight but it is also complicated by a family land dispute. This romantic tale has an intriguing premise and likable MCs. However, the repetitive narrative and MCs’ repetitive internal dialogue was a bit tedious. Overall, a good enough read.
