I found this book as I was searching Amazon for books on boosting brainpower and memory, and thought I’d give it a shot.
What a mistake…
The entirety of the book was absolutely common sense. There was not a single point of my reading experience that felt insightful or eye opening. For example, some of Castle’s “advanced techniques” on memory and brainpower include: using a highlighter to mark off important sections of a book, focus more on the most important parts of a book, and how chapter titles and headings are good indications on what the chapter may be about”. It was borderline insulting as it felt like it was written with the mindset that all of its readers are all living under a rock or 5 years old.
The writing was atrocious and overall felt like I was reading a middle schoolers essay on basic study skills.
I’m truly embarrassed to say I paid over $10 for this. And honestly, even free, I wouldn’t say it’s worth your time. There are TONS of incredible books out there on brainpower, memory, and study tactics. This is not one of them.
