Fascinating that the women most likely to injure themselves in birth are athletes and that running is really not that great of an activity for any woman after age thirty. It's almost as if our ancestors, who encouraged men to be athletes and women to be soft, slow, and gentle -- it's almost as if they had so much more common sense than we do. Did we threw away thousands of years of hard-earned cultural knowledge because of that insane idea that equality means women and men are the same? Could it be that nature has a different ideal for women than for men....?!
SO helpful. Really appreciate the tangible exercises to utilize both during pregnancy and postpartum to help with Pelvic Floor strength. Concise, very clear and just all around helpful general information I haven’t heard before.
Short book, only about 80 pages but does contain some interesting information about pregnancy that other books don’t include. This is more of a natural minded book and focuses a lot on the pelvic floor muscles.
If you are an anxious mum-to-be, then you may find comfort in reading this book. The author presents helpful, practical, and easy to follow techniques that will help you have your best pregnancy ever! And she also presents the information as if she’s talking to you as her friend.... yes, she has the knowledge and expertise (which is evident here), but she also writes it in a way that is easy to understand and doesn’t seem too intimidating. Highly recommended <3
A must read for women who are pregnant, are thinking about becoming pregnant, or used to be pregnant!
This is a very useful book that covers a what can be an uncomfortable topic for women: pelvic floor strength and how it relates to bladder control (and more). Written by a PT, it explains both the problem and the solutions in a concise, easy to understand manner. It’s a quick read, too, which I value as a busy mom. Highly recommend!
This author is a subject matter expert on the pelvic floor! She does a great job of educating others on the importance of pregnancy related exercises and the importance of the pelvic floor. It is a fun and easy read for the nonclinical person! Highly recommend!
I read so many pregnancy books and articles but this is the only one that addresses how to safely operate a pregnant body—posture, stretching, lifting, et cetera. Too bad that I found the information too late and unwittingly sustained half of a dozen injuries.
Jen Torborg is a champion for those who have vaginas. Yup, you read that correctly. Vaginas matter. :) The conversations need to take place, and Jen Torborg keeps the conversation real yet respectful.
Jen does a lovely job of discussing the pelvic floor in terms that most will be able to understand! She eases fears that are often present during pregnancy and provides advice on how to navigate the changes that occur. Very informative and a must for all women interested in better understanding their pelvic floor during pregnancy.
Your Best Pregnancy Ever is very informative without being overwhelming to the reader. The exercises/activities are easy to follow and additional reputable resources are provided for those with additional questions or those who want to learn more. Excellent read, Jen!
